  1. Yeah. Happiness Thanks a lot.
  2. Thanks - have fun rebuilding (I am thinking of rebuilding some old ships too) Bow and stern have seen many iterations during the building process... At some point the stern part was going to be in blue. Maybe I'll try that again one day. And your observations about the curvature of the hull are on point! Sounds somewhat romantic. Until you realize that they have forgotten to set the sails
  3. Yes. All those sea rat comments have confused me You seem to be the first Eslandolean expressing interest. Therefore, this wonderful ship can be licensed by you! (and you need to kick out that Redcoat)
  4. it says: Barón Antonio Slavik de Mendoza is a Mardierian noble No way, I remember the war! Ok. I know what happened to my ships
  5. Yepp, that is precisely the right song Thanks. I actually thought it would be easier to make Dr. Sonwat turn green. It is a photoshop effect and it still looks strange to me They have been flying for 7 years now I don't know what a balloon is. This is called ball-hover because it hovers. And has 1-2 balls of phlogiston. (it does not hoover, apparently)
  6. Fellow Eslandoleans! This ship has been posted in the pirate MOC section and can be licensed by an Eslandolean, simply by replying to this post. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/195384-inspired-by-the-santa-ana/ This offer is free of charge and will be handled on a first-come-first-served basis.
  7. I have spent some weeks on my probably largest ship so far: "The Pride of Pontelli". The model is inspired by the Spanish ship "Santa Ana" - a model of which I have seen in Madrid's excellent Naval Museum. The original ship has one more deck. Having little experience with two deck ships I did not want to go for too much. I did not have enough yellow bricks for another deck anyway My son helped me with the lighting and photographing the ship. This actually gets more difficult with the ship's size. I will make some more improvements, but more or less this will be going out to an exhibition in August. And I am quite happy with how the brick-based-rigging turned out. Thanks for watching!
  8. A field outside of Belson, Corrington. A ball-hover is waiting. Sholmes: “Hello! My name is Sholmes. Herlock Sholmes – and you are?” Alberto: “We are Alberto & George da Pontelli. We operate this ball-hover, the 'Spirit of Eslandola'.” Sholmes: “Impressive! How fast can you get us to Pontelli?” Alberto: “If the winds keep blowing like they are now we should reach Pontelli in just a few hours.” Sholmes: “And if the wind changes?” Alberto: “Then it can take a few weeks. And we would see other places in the meantime.” Sholmes (shrugging): “Right. Let’s do this. No ship would offer a faster alternative.” Alberto: “Welcome on board the ball-hover to Pontelli. My first officer George and I will be at your service during the ride. Our cruising altitude will be around 100 meters or 347,5 Corrington feet.” Alberto: “Let me get you acquainted with the safety features of this ball-hover. In case of an emergency, you jump off the sides. If the ground is close enough, that is. And smoking is not permitted at all times during the voyage. Are you collecting miles?" Dr. Sonwat: "What?" Alberto: "Nevermind." George: "Oooh-ooh." Alberto: "Right, George, I was just about to mention it: In rare cases some passengers might not like the experience of turbulences." Sholmes (humming "Fly Like an Eagle"): “I think we will be fine.” (The ball-hover is shaking a bit in the wind) Dr. Sonwat: “Not so sure. Could we book a good-old-fashioned ship for the way back, please?” (to be continued) The story so far: Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 (you are here) Chapter 4
  9. @Mister Phes: What do you say? Usually contests are not decided by number of views but decision of a jury. Anyway, I cannot delete the fp entry, I could only change it to something else.
  10. Herzlichen Glückwunsch - congratulations
  11. Pirates are cool again. While LEGO is putting out an updated version of the Eldorado fortress, @aex383 has created a fine addition to the world of pirates, redcoats and bluecoats: The Imperial Trading Outpost. Find more pictures in the LEGO Pirates Forum!
  12. Very fine scene. Did you use the dog from my Herlock Sholmes story?
  13. It is a great ship - well worth of the frontpage. But wait, it was already part of a frontpaged MOC
  14. Fine updated version. I would give the Imperial Armada a chance. They have been forgotten by TGL...
  15. I will include the links in the next chapter. The ballhover was invented 7 years ago: Good questions. I think, the map is not important You were not fascinated by Patricia Sevenfish? Such a great name...
  16. Mr. Hallcroft Py continues to tell Herlock Sholmes and Dr. Sonwat his story: Elventree: “Easterhazy, Easterbunny & Santa? I know them. They can’t be trusted. What did they offer you as a salary?” Mr. Py: “Three dubloons per week plus an extra Gwuinee every fortnight.” Elventree: “Puh! Those misers. Just what I would expect from them. They are ripping you off!” Mr. Py: “I thought that was pretty decent.” Elventree: “Decent? For a bright young accountant like you are? Listen, young man, the 'Fellowship of the Greybeards' (FotG) are offering you twice as much. And a pet dog after a month to compensate for the extra Gwuinee.” Mr. Py: “Wow. That is impressive. I will go to EE&S and cancel my contract.” Elventree: “What? Talk to them again after they insulted you when they offered you such a pittance for a salary?” Mr. Py: “But what shall I do then?” Elventree: “The best way to pay them back is to ignore them completely and never show up.” Mr. Py (to Sholmes): “And that is just what I did.” “But my new job with FotG was strange.” Sholmes: “Why was that?” Mr. Py: “ When I arrived at the office on my first day, there was only Mr. Elventree and a secretary Miss Patricia Sevenfish, who was working there on a part-time arrangement. Mr. Elventree gave me a task that was not too exciting: I had to list all of the trade routes between Corrington and Eslandola. That took me quite a while. Then in the afternoon, after Miss Sevenfish had gone home Mr. Elventree approached me again …” Elventree: “Mr. Py, excuse me, but would you mind being painted?” Mr. Py: “Painted? Why?” Elventree: “Well, this seems to be a matter of the heart. Before she left Miss Sevenfish told me that she has developed a liking for you. She would like to have a painting of you to look at when you are not around.” Mr. Py: “That is surprising. I am flattered.” Elventree: “And, do you agree?” Mr. Py: “Yes, I think I have also started to like Miss Sevenfish.” Elventree: “Very well then. I will do the painting myself. Just keep sitting there.” Mr. Py (to Sholmes): “And after he had completed the painting – he was amazingly fast – I was finally allowed to go home, still feeling a bit confused about everything.” Sholmes: “What a strange first day on the new job!” Hallcroft Py: “The next few days were even stranger. There was no one in the office but Miss Sevenfish – who was obviously quite shy and would hardly talk to me – and myself. And I got my tasks via notes on my desk. Also, it was strange to have a painting of myself on the wall." "This went on for the next few days. Then came the day when I was supposed to start my job at EE&S. I really did not feel good about not having gotten back to them. Then things got worse yesterday.” Dr. Sonwat: “What happened?” Hallcroft Py: “When I arrived at the office, it was closed. There was a note on the door saying ‘The Fellowship of the Greybeards’ has been dissolved. Hallcroft Py: “Now I was really worried. And this is why I came to you.” Sholmes: “To find out how you can retrieve your outstanding salary payments?” Hallcroft Py: “No, to find Patricia Sevenfish. I really like her, and I fear something terrible has happened to her.” Dr. Sonwat: “We will have to get to Pontelli as fast as possible. Hallcroft Py: “That will be no problem. I have taken a ball-hover to get here. They are still waiting for me and would be happy to take you to Pontelli.” (to be continued) The story so far: Chapter 1 Chapter 2 (you are here) Chapter 3
  17. It is amazing to see what can be done by digital LEGO building: @Bricksbypidy (in a collaboration with @boeing_787_8_dreamliner) has put out another fine creation - the ship alone would be worth of the frontpage, but there is more - check it out in the LEGO Pirates Forum.
  18. Excellent French troops! Where did you get the eagle from for the flagpost?
  19. What a nice creation! Makes me think of the frog song "We all stand together"...
