New factions would you like to see for the Kingdoms line?
gogobig replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
What a great idea mate. Its fantastic. I would go nuts with purchasing those sets. Currently, I am in the process of making birdman tribe. The pics will be up soon. I would not mind centaurs either. But like you said this would be great for fantasy. As for Kingdoms, Id like to see a barbaric tribe, something like scots from brave heart. -
I bought this set for $12 on ebay. My favorite part of it are 5 horses. I didnt really care for minifigs that much, as I already have well over 1,000 knights. And I just added 50 more today ;) It is a nice set and very playable, would buy it again...for $12

Not bad mate, I am castle and pirate fan only, but that still is a great deal considering that Caribbean Clipper goes for that alone. I just got 29 white horses for $12 bucks :) Only 2 of them are a bit yellowish, the rest are mint.

I will definitely be looking froward for this year's factions. With that said in my lego castle world, Lions (royal knights, crownies, and such-the good guys) are freinds with dragon masters. Still it will be a good way of boosting army numbers and adding extra unit or two. Same here mate. My next factions are Chewbaca and Ewok tribe as well as flying minifig faction. Im also looking to add 15-20 new "important figures. "

Bonaparte, very nice presentation mate. Hopefully they will consider some parts.

Shroffy, no pictures mate? Im looking to add 2-4 factions to my already large collection. Are any of you dealing with same/similar situation where you just want to keep adding factions?

How open are you about your Lego passion?
gogobig replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
All I gotta tell you is that hard work pays off ;) Sure whats your address I'll ship some to you hahaha. Im bit moderate when it comes to lego spending; while I could spend much more on lego, my other hobbies drain my money out too. Jebediahs; that is legendary haha "go play lego" -

Ah, what a great question. Unfortunately for me, it just wouldn't "fit" right to talk about lego. I have many hobbies, from working out, boxing, martial arts and sports playing to drawing, reading, lego, and many more. All of those hobbies I talk openly about, but one...Lego. The thing is, I am a very successful manager operating multimillion dollar business.-I know who would ever say right? ;) I am also extremely social person with many acquaintances and fiends. Also, lets top it off that I have European (lived in Europe for 17 years) accent and my body is body builder type. Does this draw a picture to any of you? My point here is that my personality and social life does not fit lego...I know this sounds rather odd to say, but its' the way it is. The people I socialize with, the coworkers of mine...it just doesnt fit. The only people who know are my 2 best friends (who both think I am crazy for spending $5-10 grand on my collection). I joined this forum because it gives me a break from reality and let's me get in the world of lego, where imagination and creativity are limitless. Do any of you have similar situation? Yeah yeah yeah, let me get slammed by some of you now. I was resisting to post something like this, but it is not like any of you know me or work with me, or do you? ;) Oh, and I am perfectly comfortable with my situation the way it is :) -
Check my armies mate. I pride myself of not having "armies of clones". In my castle minifig collection I tried to have different face for even the simple soldiers. Ofcourse. it is not possible to not have a couple of clones within a large army. With that said I tried my best to apply different faces when same torso is present. Feel free to go back a bit and check my brickshelf.

REVIEW: 8821 Rogue Knight Battleship
gogobig replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I always thought this was a good set. While I dont like some small parts of it, such as both catapults, minifigs and boat are awesome. At one point I considered getting at least 5 of these sets and create "invasion from the sea" MOC -
Kurt very nice design, I really like it. Ill let you know once I get my non-lego beasts and crate cavalry out of'em. As much as I admire lego, imagination has no limit and therefore, I will give my idea a shot :D Ill keep you posted

What a great topic. For future castle sets I'd personally like to see the following: -Armory/Blacksmith two minifigures (one blacksmith and one armor/weapon seller) with decent size blacksmith and weapon/helmet/armor selections -Food Market Perhaps have a baking goods, fruits and vegetable and meat and fish stands, 3 minifigures, 2 male, 1 female. -Castle Wall Simple gray, grayish or bley bricks that can be purchased in multiples to make a decent castle wall. -Animal pack -horse, cow, pig, dog -Great hall/round table meeting King, and several knight in a room -Peasant/farmer house with garden one peasant with little house and some garden around it. Perhaps 2-3 minifigs (wife and child) and 2 stories high house would be nice. -Cathedral Not any religion oriented, but medieval one. -Inn/Tavern several peasant minifgs, server and his wife and 2 soldiers. Nice 2 sorty high tavern with 4 bedrooms upstairs. -Jail with torture room -two prisoners, one skeleton, a guard and a torturer. -Bandit ambush 3 bandits, 2 guards and a carriage. -Lumber camp 3 peasants, one guard and one bandit -bandits secret hideout 4 bandits, 2 guards, camouflaged hideout

Kurt, Have you ever though about adding NON-Lego elements to your army? For example, I am looking to purchase several plastic elephants and wolves to add for "evil" side to ride on as well as some dinosaurs. You can create a saddle from lego parts. what do you think about that?

Ha, how about that lady that splilled her coffee at Mcdonalds and sue them becasue it burned her. Apparently, she didnt know it was hot. She got tons of money for it. I watched her interview-she is dumber then a bag of rocks. Some people just need to be smacked for their stupidity. I own shooting and non shooting cannons, and do to the fact that I never use them to shoot those bricks out of them, I really dont care what kind of cannon it is as long as it is lego cannon I am fine with it.

I impressed so far. I like the idea of "resurrecting" dragon and royal knights as they are my two favorite factions. What are your inputs on this guys? How many of you are disappointed we are not going to see elves this year? What are your favorite sets?
-
Kris, you have by far the most detailed and uniquest MOCs I have ever seen. Wonderful work mate. Would love to discus some of your methods and customization processes with you sometimes. Keep up the great work!

Mors, I agree with you that the new castle line heavily reminds of the 1995 Royal Knights and Dragon Knights. However, considering those two as one of my favorite factions, I am extremely pleased with this. I was expecting Elves this year, but perhaps we will see them in the upcoming years. As for KK2 it is a mater of personal preference; while it might not be interesting to you, others might find it interesting. Personally, I thought that KK2 brought a lot of interesting pieces from soldiers (armor and helmets, which can be used for "special forces" or even generals and captains) to many useful bricks for MOCs. It is very hard to argue about personal taste ;) All in all I am extremely pleased with this new castle line and cannot wait for it to come out.

captain Blackmoor, yes indeed this project is taking a decent amount of time, but its worth it :) Im trying to keep my soldier amount to a decent, but yet not go overboard. My Royal knights army is the largest. Ill be uploading it very soon. Thanks for checking it out

UPDATE: It seems as brickshelf is up running again and therefore, I was able to upload some pics up. Please chek'em in the link below: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=gogobig The updated armies are as follows: The Bulls Mercenaries Bulls are private mercenaries serving under the command of evil lord. Well trained and armored, Bulls Mercenaries attack in hordes of 10 or more soldiers. Bulls Mercenaries use various weapons, but the most famous and deadliest are their elite warriors, perfect archers from the Far East that also carry a sword for close combat. Bulls Mercenaries have mastered war tactics and attack the weak spots of their enemies. These warriors will strictly listen to their commander, and do exactly what they are asked for, even if it means losing their lives. Due to the fact that they are mercenaries, Bulls are known for capturing people and selling them into slavery overseas while destroying every village and town they come across. Leader:1 Generals: 2 Spy:1 Archer: 9 Crossbow: 9 Pike 11 Axe: 7 Sword: 11 Total : 51 The Vikings: These bloodthirsty and merciless warriors coming from the Northern lands are raised to fight and kill since the young age. Vikings are known as war fanatics and they will destroy everything in front of them. Led by their war god Odin, Vikings believe that the more they kill and destroy the more pleasure Odin gets and grants them better future. Besides being known for being killing machines, Vikings enjoy their victories by celebrating with women and vine. During their conquest, Vikings capture women who become their wives and men who they keep as slaves. These Northern warriors are not the horse raiders; instead they are great sailors and attack from the sea with their longboats and smaller, but faster attack boats. Vikings are well trained are armored, but poorly organized units. They tend to run up to an enemy in the open field with no fear of death and believing that dying in the battle is the best death that a warrior could ask for. King: 1 Prince: 2 General: 3 Archer: 14 Sword: 23 Pike: 20 Axe: 26 Total 89 The Scorpions: Loyal to their leader, scorpions are more than just a group of villains. The scorpion army consists of army deserters, making them well trained and killing machines already. The scorpions are well organized, trained and strong army thirsty for blood and vengeance. With little or no moral whatsoever, Scorpions are given pure freedom on the battlefield. Since many of the soldiers were kicked out of army for not obeying the rules while being on the battlefield, this tactic proved to be very effective and efficient. Their lines mostly consist of infantry soldiers carrying halberds. Scorpions never attack in small groups, so if there is one scorpion soldier, you bet there is at least couple of hordes behind him. Generals: 2 Special forces/guards:3 Halberd: 39 Total: 44 The Undead Undead souls summoned by the evil wizard are called upon to serve the dark lord in his conquest. Undead army mostly consists of skeletons, deadly and almost unstoppable creatures; the only way to truly kill them is by cutting their head off. Despite the myth, undead really exist and are extremely dangerous creatures. It is common to see some of them carrying shields, weapons, helmets and armor. However, the worst attack is that of a close range. It is said that if an undead skeleton comes near the soldier and bites him, that soldier turns into a skeleton himself. Undead cavalry horde is feared by many warriors-fast, quiet, and deadly, these raiders spread nothing but death itself. The undead army features the 10 dead horsemen, known as the death raiders. With no mercy, well equipped armor and weapons, this elite unit is extremely hard to fight against. Death Riders: 10 Generals: 2 Special units: 10 Skeletons: 45 Chaos Lords: 11 Spy: 2 Berserk Barons: 8 Special Guards: 5 Total: 93 this one is still in process, and I will be adding more special forces.

Gladiator, very impressive army mate...cant even imagine how much money and time it took away from you. Have you though of adding different heads instead of having the same one for your horsemen, them "hoodie raiders" and crowsbowmen? The orc army looks amazing. So far a brilliant collection. Looking forward for your future updates. Here is my army so far: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=gogobig Brickshelf is not being friendly so i'll have to wait a bi to upload the rest of my factions.
