  1. The Master-thanks, them dobby heads were part of the most amazing deal I got of the ebay. Mind as well to put them into use them right? Did you like them being used for elf faction? Captain Blackmoor-be jealous ;) Ha-Ha. It definitely took quite a bit of time and effort. Keep an eye on this topic, I have a few surprises under my sleeve :D
  2. CommanderFox-Thanks mate, centaurs are one of my most favorites. They took quite a bit of work as they are all different. The orcs will surprise you that's all you get for now :D Just so there is no confusion a bit over 80% of faces and torsos are decals. This was the major part of my project. I wanted to enjoy it and take my time. I also like having many different faces so you wont see too many faces being the same on the same torso. Big Cam-Brickshelf is not being friendly at the moment, but hopefully soon it will be back in the game. Im thinking taking a huge pic of all factions together, but we will see how my schedule permits me. Milan- gotta think ahead you know haha, thanks. What is your favorite faction thus far?
  3. Thanks Zorro, I have 17 factions done all together but Brickshelf is not letting me upload pictures for some odd reason. I absolutely enjoyed doing centaurs, as I have always been a fan of those mystic creatures. I got some time on my hands tonight so Ill try to upload as many pictures as I can.
  4. SPEARMEN!!!HOLD YOUR POSITION! ARCHERRRRSSS! GET READY!FIREEEEEEE!!!!! Ah, nothing better then old castle battles with screams like these-full of emotion and passion makes you wonder what it would be like to experience that...LOTR, Kingdom of Heaven, 300 and Troy are just few of the movies that can brings us that experience little closer... First and foremost good day to you all. I am AFOL who came out of his dark ages 4 years ago. I am a huge fan of castle theme and pirates of course. A bit over 4 years ago I started working on a castle project and after some hard work, and plenty of Benjamin Franklin's I am finally coming to an end with the most difficult part of my project-factions. Before I proceed I want to thank some of the members on this forum for helping me out by contributing their time and skills. First, I want to thank minifig custom master LUXOR by contributing many torsos and face decals. Also, not sure if he is a member here or not but a big thanks as well to Anthony Sava for numerous torso and shield decals. I have used some face/torso decals from other members as well, but cannot remember who. Therefore, if you see your design please let me know and I will give you your credit for it. In the next couple of days I will be uploading pics, so comments are always welcome. I dont want any critique so dont write it-hope you felt some sarcasm there. haha. I tried to keep most factions under or around 50 soldiers, but went nuts on Royal Knights and Vikings :) Right now I have just little over 1,000 castle figures (not counting common town folk)and I plan to make no more then 20 more. I'll be uploading pictures as my schedule allows me. All of the pics can be found in the link below: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=gogobig Here is my first faction, The Wolfpack. The Wolfpack are known as a brute group of criminals whose members are wanted men making them frightening thieves and unfavored among other forest tribes. Adopting a guerrilla style of fighting like Forestmen tribe, Wolfpack are more than just a group of bloodthirsty thieves and criminals; they are well organized small army that can cause a lot of damage even to the bigger armies. Army- Leader: 1 Generals: 2 Captain: 1 Swordsmen: 5 Archers: 9 Halberd: 4 Total: 22 The Forestmen: Described as the free men living deep in the forest, Forestmen tribe consists of common folk and many young men who opposed the evil ruler and refused to bow down to him and his regime. To escape from secure death, they ran into the forest and formed their own society. Forestmen specialize in archery, as well as sword and spear techniques. Due to the lack in armor and weapons, Forestmen use blitz guerilla tactics to weaken, confuse and scare their enemies. Extremely hard to fight against in forest, Forestmen rarely ever face their enemies on an open field. Army- Leader: 1 Generals: 3 Archer: 22 Spear/Halbeard: 10 Cavarly: 6 Total: 42 Elves: Surrounded by magic and mystery, little is known about this strange race. Elves are peaceful creatures that specialize in many different fields such as art, music, magic and even warfare. Equipped with plate chest armor, shield and long elf sword, elf swordsmen are by far the most dangerous unit in the forest. Elves pride themselves for a century’s long tradition of elite missile units and accuracy of their archers. Army- Leader: 1 Generals: 3 Pike: 9 Sword: 9 Archer: 9 Total: 31 Dwarves: Unfriendly and bad-tempered, these hardworking miners mind their own business and often stay neutral in every war. Tales of proud dwarven warriors are known throughout the entire kingdom. They are no raiders, but they make up with strong axe and hammer infantry. Powerful and deadly, Dwarves make fearful and excellent infantry warriors. King: 1 Prince: 1 Generals: 3 Axe infantry: 19 Spear Infantry: 15 Total : 39 Centaurs: Half horse and half human, these beasts roam through the woods. Nobody really knows where these creatures came from and how did they become what they are. Centaurs, known for their brutality in the battle, are always prepared to crush any enemy that might be a threat to their kind, so it is the best to stay out of their way.Centaurs often draw their weapons very quickly and don't like intruders in their territory. Centaurs do not have large numbers within their ranks like Royal knights, but they definitely present a tough opponent. Army- Archers: 3 Short Melee: 4 Medium Melee: 4 Long Melee: 5 Total: 16 Mohawks: Mohawks are people of not many words, but in the times of war their spears, tomahawks, and arrows speak louder than anyone’s. Brave Mohawks believe that by killing in close combat and scalping the victim, their god will protect them. Mohawks attack in large numbers, and unlike Forestmen they do not use guerilla tactics that often. They face many enemies on the open battlefield and believe that the best death is in the battle. Screaming while fighting, these warriors fight as individual units rather than one well organized army. By far, Mohawk tribe has one of the best cavalry raiders in the entire land. These mounted warriors are extremely fast and tend to break through the enemy ranks, providing infantry soldiers with room to strike the weakest points of opponent’s formation. Holy: 4 Cavalry: 11 Tomahawk: 10 Spear: 17 Archers: 6 Total: 48 Dragon masters: These beast masters and axe wielding warriors are known for their brutality on the battlefield. The dragon masters are lead by wizards, who use their magic to control dragons and assist their soldiers during the battle. The wizards are powerful and dangerous mages, with superpowers that can turn the battle in their favor. These mysterious mages spend most of their time studying from the magic books and experimenting with magic. For centuries, they have been using powerful and mystic creatures known as dragons as their aids in battle. Since the young age, dragon master warriors have been taken away from their family and trained under the supervision of wizards. They are trained to have no mercy, be loyal and die before be taken as prisoners. Even though they lack in numbers, dragon masters are extremely powerful and well respected faction known for their revengeful and loyal character. Besides the dragon raiders and wizards, dragon masters also have the strongest cavalry in the whole kingdom that spreads fear and terror even in the hearts of the bravest warriors. Dragon masters fight as the entre army, assisting one another and breaking the enemy lines with powerful and fast attacks. Wizards 4 Cavalry: 12 General: 1 Dragon raiders: 3 Swordsmen: 8 Axemen: 13 Total : 41 Gladiators: More mercenaries then an army, gladiators fight solo or in duos. Their whole life they been trained to kill and kill only and they specialize in that. Having no mercy for their enemies, gladiators prove to be worthy opponents. Many gladiators fight either for money to feed their families or to gain their freedom. The gladiators also fight in arenas in front of the enormous crowds to gain popularity and profits. They can be hired in as mercenaries or assassins. Without any loyalty and morals, gladiators are perfect candidates for dirty work. Short Melee: 6 Medium Melee: 3 Long Melee: 7 Total: 16
  5. Agree. Didnt like the whole monster thingy and would rather prefer a barbarian horde or some other faction to fight against. With that said, I bought a total of 15 (I believe) sets of Vikings and this set is absolutely outstanding.
  6. I think fort Legoredo is awesome set. I remember wanting it when I was into Wild West theme. If you can get it for a decent price and like Wild West, that one is a must.
  7. Arent we waiting for the elves line at this moment?? Id love to see Roman and Greek as they have a lot of set options and would definitely add more diversity in current and past castle line.
  8. Orion, your ideas make great sense for MOC's, especially this one. While I'd love to see this coming from LEGO or LOTR genre itself, the chances of seeing 94 minifigures in one set are slim to none. Have you ever thought of making any of these sets yourself? Perhaps you should give it a shot if you have time and bricks to do so. Would love to see Minas Tirith.
  9. I think mix adds that special "touch" that is more appealing then the plain one color. Look at the most creative and detailed MOCs and you'll noticed they all have mix of different colors. Plus, it wont hurt to experiment a bit with it, some people like it and some dont. It is all matter of personal opinion.
  10. Matija, narodnjace, prva liga. Stvarno remek dijelo, svaka cast
  11. Angel, wow man congratulations on making such a beauty. I truly enjoyed your slideshow. What was the most difficult part to build for you? I just ordered my parts for 3 ships Im building; not as huge as your but still decent size. Is it just me or there really is something special about making your own MOCs? haha
  12. Horrible! My grandma builds better then that....HAHA completely messing with you. Absolutely love it. It is definitely in my top 10 MOCs ever built. The detail is amazing; just check out that building...speechless. On scale 1-10, one being horrible and 10 being perfect, I give you 14 ;)
  13. Lorentzen, its LEGO man, any variation is acceptable ;) Im looking to build this huge castle and Ill need many parts to be bricklinked. With that said, if I went with just dark gray, since it looks so awesome, Id go bankrupt. Therefore, it is OK to mix gray with other grayish colors :)
  14. Wow. Very impressive custom work and collection Michaelozzie. Even though the hats are not my personal style, they look amazing.
  15. ;) Agree. This set is something that every LEGO fan will appreciate. I have never spent more then $100 for a set but this one will be bought the first day it comes out.
  16. Perhaps thats not that bad mate. Look at it on positive note; if short on funds, $20 a week saved will get you that beauty in 10 weeks ;)
  17. BB all the way. My reason behind it is rather simple; take out the sails, make custom ones and soldiers have their ship as well ;)
  18. love classic pirates, but POTC are definitely winner in this one. :pir-skull:
  19. Ahoy mates! While I spend majority of my money and focus on Castle theme :D roughly 5% of my minifigs come from Pirates theme. With that said, I have a decent collection, which I am planning to expand in the upcoming months. So far, these are the sets I posses: 6270 Forbidden Island 6276 Eldorado Fortress 6267 Lagoon lock-up 6273 Rock Island Refuge 6279 Skulls Island 6289 Red Beard Runner 6239 Cannon Battle x4 6243 Shipwreck Hideout 6253 Brickbeard's Bounty
  20. About damn time they released this ship. $170 is a high orice but ill make sure I grab one of these. Great news, cheers mate.
  21. Lets change lego city now into "every day life of a common folk and business" . For crying out loud, let the castle be castle!
  22. Not bad, Id stick with tic-tac-toe rather. $20 for 10 minifigs
  23. 1. Raft Raiders 2. Sabre Island 3. BSB 4. SES I wouldnt mind gettin' those smaller sets such as shipwreck island and smugglers cave either.
  24. Im there with you on that one. Just wondering why they just made it for Nintendo DS....
  25. I think that playmobil octopus is sweet :)
