  1. Maybe. But they could also spend it by designing very good sets that will be sure to sell like hot cakes.
  2. I have done that relatively recently ( I own both sets). You need a few parts from 8458 not in 8461. Thankfully for you I have compiled such an inventory. ;) My eurobricks topic from december 2012 ====== 8458 parts absent from 8461====== Only those with @@@@@ are actually needed to build the racing truck. +2 78c05 Flat Silver Hose, Ribbed 7mm D. 5L +6 78c11 Flat Silver Hose, Ribbed 7mm D. 11L @@@@@ 1 silver from spares, 1 silver from 8466 +2 2412b Black Tile, Modified 1 x 2 Grille with Bottom Groove / Lip 1 2741 Black Technic, Steering Wheel Large @@@@@ 1 from spares +9 2780 Black Technic, Pin with Friction Ridges Lengthwise WITH Center Slots +2 3647 Light Gray Technic, Gear 8 Tooth @@@@@ 2 from 8415 +1 3648 Light Gray Technic, Gear 24 Tooth (New Style with Single Axle Hole) @@@@@ 1 from 8415 +2 3705 Black Technic, Axle 4 +3 6558 Black Technic, Pin Long with Friction Ridges Lengthwise @@@@@ 2 from spares +2 6629 Black Technic, Liftarm 1 x 9 Bent (6 - 4) Thick @@@@@ 2 blue from 8415 +4 32000 Black Technic, Brick 1 x 2 with Holes @@@@@ 4 from 8408 +7 32188 (Black&Silver) Technic, Panel Fairing # 3 Large Long, Large Holes, Side A +7 32189 (Black&Silver) Technic, Panel Fairing # 4 Large Long, Large Holes, Side B 4 32190 Metallic Silver Technic, Panel Fairing # 1 Large Short, Large Holes, Side A 4 32191 Metallic Silver Technic, Panel Fairing # 2 Large Short, Large Holes, Side B +2 32291 Black Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Perpendicular Double (two spots, symmetrical, use 1 black and 1 light gray) +1 75535 Black Technic, Pin Connector Round (Pin Joiner Round) @@@@@ 1 from 8437
  3. Hey Bycougars aka NujuMetru, Congrats on reaching 10000 last november and please keep posting here. :) You're basically the only reason this topic still exists. Just ignore Alcarin, he doesn't see the big picture at all, as you've mentioned already: if your MT get approved Lego will no doubt change the design to fit their needs so his complaints are irrelevant. Please keep us informed of any communication and updates you get from Lego (as long as it's allowed of course) I think that Lego should have marketed this line more as an actual replacement for Castle, to appeal to more kids. I, too, have never seen a kid hold a LOTR set in any toy store. Anybody remember december 2011 when it was first announced? Some Castle fans were up in arms about Castle possibly being replaced by LOTR. Now look at the mediocrity of the 2013-2014 castle line... I think even those complainers from dec 2011 would have prefered a Helms Deep-level quality LOTR set than the generic and simplistic castle sets that came out.
  4. exactly. People have been MOCing LOTR since 2001, at least.
  5. Well there is yet 1 more hope for one set: the minas tirith project that reached 10000 on ideas last november,
  6. Until the LOTR theme came out, my collection was Technic/City(Town), so it obviously included trains. I have only 2
  7. 1) They are very powerful 2) They came in the 2nd best technic set of 2003 and the best technic set of 2005.
  8. I stocked up on a few of them between 2002-2006 when they were still cheap. Never understood why Lego discontinued them. They are very powerful.
  9. Hey, we already have Duplo disney princesses and Duplo Superman and Duplo Batman, why the hell not? What do you think? I would find it hilarious to see how they would do the lightsabers for Duplo figs large enough to not risk being swallowed.
  10. The original Ghostbusters idea was actually not just the car but included their whole HQ as a modular. Lego deemed it to big, but that didn't stop them from approving it anyway and producing the set (car + figs) we got. So maybe if Lego deems nujumetru's Minas Tirith idea too big, they might produce a uruk-hai army-type set (minas tirith gate?) or slightly larger sized set that provides us with the figs we badly want. Witch King (Gondor Siege version of course), Eowyn, Faramir, Gondor Soldiers. Hopefully with Fell beast. Deathleech's LDD mocs comes to mind.
  11. Well, if they reject it on that ground, stating "We already have projects for this license that conflicts with this idea", ie they already planned to release gondor sets, then I'm fine with it as long as they release their damned planned sets already. If they don't have any planned sets, then what would be the holdup? They have to get the set approved by WB either way.

  13. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/36275 Congratulations on 10,000 supporters, NujuMetru! Nov 25, 2014 Dear NujuMetru, What a beautiful, playable version of the White City in LEGO bricks! You've done a great job compressing this model into a reasonable size while staying true to it's look in The Return of the King. Now that 10,000 Gondorians have spoken, we advance your project to the Review phase.
  14. Not necessarily. If they REALLY wanna do a good job of analyzing things thoroughly, they will go on a set-by-set basis and conclude that it's their own fault, and LOTR Wave 2 who had lackluster sales, because the sets themselves were "meh". LOTR Wave 1 (and Orthanc) rocked everybody's world, and that Minas Tirith set is poised to do the same. If a set is good, it WILL sell. Look at Wave 1 of The Hobbit. Did anyone really had ANY doubt at all which set from that wave was going to sell like hot cakes? It ain't rocket science.
  15. Supported Nuju's Minas Tirith.. Everybody here should support it. This is by far the best shot we have of getting at least one last final set.
  16. I agree, beautiful MOC.It's highly reminiscent of the movie, and is also very much in the spirit of the 10193 medieval market village. There aren't many Bree/Prancing Pony MOCs. The most notable one I've seen yet is Leda Kat's.
  17. That almost makes me want to visit NZ. MOCs like these are the very reason I created a MOCs that don't fit in the regular storyline but feature LOTR characters or parts from LOTR sets In my LOTR moc index :)
  18. Fantastic moc. You are now the first MOC in the "Flight to the Ford" category in the LOTR chronological moc index.
  19. Nice moc! Well it's the 2nd one I've seen - ShaydDeGrai has built an amazing one too. http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=81768 I added your MOC to my LOTR index. Which all of you should pay visit to regularly, since I keep it updated. This last week or so, thanks to the contest I must have added 20 mocs or more. You don't need to bookmark it, the eurobrick mods added it to "history guides and indices" topic. http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=83122
  20. Good MOC, but not canon. Tolkien explicitly said that Arwen died as a mortal in the appendices.
  21. Very nice! Added to LOTR moc index. LOL @ drunk Frodo
  22. I'll be updating the LOTR MOC index as I find new LOTR mocs. Please let me know if I missed any. Lord of the Rings only, please (books or films). There is already a Hobbit MOC index.
  23. None taken, I just wanted to use as few non-orange bricks as possible.
  24. Hey there. This is a minivan built entirely with bricks from set 7991 Recycle truck. 7991minivan by SheepEater, on Flickr I had tons of fun re-creating it in LDD. Here is the lxf file.
  25. Many thanks!! Now I wonder who'll be the first to reproduce these with real bricks!
