  1. Our first sets were Turaga Onewa and Nokama but I guess we won't be able to get those first now. :P -Gata
  2. I think Mata Nui (the small one) was a really cool set. And the movie wasn't terrible in my opinion, considering it was a movie for kids I found it pretty decent, though not good enough to consider it a really good movie. BIONICLE 2 still beats all the others in my opinion. -Gata
  3. Planes 2 isn't a Pixar film and neither was Planes. As far as I know, the next Pixar film is going to be Inside Out. -Gata
  4. I would be more sad about a possible end of Hero Factory if I had not lost all hope of the loose plot points being resolved. -Gata
  5. Guess all you people who hate Greg so terribly forget he wrote all the BIONICLE comics, including the very first ones which contributed a great deal to setting up the story and mythology of BIONICLE (personally I think he did a good job with most of the comics throughout the theme's entire run). Apart from not being sure what was so stupid about Voya Nui and Mahri Nui, you are being totally unfair blaming it on him alone. That was the entire story team's doing and not just his. And your talk about greasy mits is nothing but insulting. I'm not sure how you expect to be taken seriously with that kind of talk. You could show some more respect. -Gata
  6. Which doesn't mean any of them couldn't come back if LEGO needed them. It's not like they deleted the blueprints or something. -Gata
  7. Clearly they are actually impostors who want to impersonate the Toa Mata and the actual villains of the story! :O -Gata
  8. The thing is, as far as I recall nobody talked about a 1:1 ratio or 5 female Toa Mata (I think we can agree especially the latter wouldn't exactly make too much sense considering everything). -Gata
  9. BIONICLE won't improve by simply throwing in a bunch of female characters, no. It has to be done right. And even then it would still have its share of faults if they were carried over from the old BIONICLE to the new. Again, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed BIONICLE through it's entire run but it still had some issues, especially retrospectively. I think I actually agree with you about the Toa Mata, though. I've thought about it and I guess after the initial surprise and a short time of familiarization I'd actually be totally fine with it but new female characters would probably do the job as well as far as female representation is concerned without setting up lots of confusion and controversy, as you pointed out. I don't really see LEGO doing it. But the thought itself is quite interesting. -Gata
  10. It's not necessary per se, no, but if there is a way it can be improved, then why not? Personally I find myself able to enjoy BIONICLE even with a 1:5 female-male ratio but I totally understand the concerns and I think a better handling of female characters would by all means do BIONICLE more good than bad. -Gata
  11. If people seriously want to spend their time writing/drawing/whatever fan porn involving Toa Mata that's their thing but you don't need more female Toa Mata to do that, nor do you need more Toa Mata to be officially female for that matter, so that's entirely irrelevant. Also, nobody is forcing you to consume said porn if it really existed. By your logic, let's ban female characters from media entirely, as obviously there will always be armies of boys/men eagerly waiting to use any female characters for their derailed sexual fantasies. If they use female BIONICLE characters for porn that's not the problem of BIONICLE but theirs. Considering BIONICLE is in fact a toy for young children as you said, that's precisely a reason it needs gender equality because toy lines exercise an educating effect on the children who play with them. It wouldn't even be necessary to have a strict 1:1-ratio, a better representation of female characters (both in numbers and in character depiction itself) would already help a big deal. The argument you have given me for BIONICLE not needing gender equality simply isn't one (though let's stick with better gender ratio as having too many female characters may be problematic for selling the toys considering they're primarily targeted at young boys who for some reason generally aren't fond of girls in the stories they follow, at least in today's Western societies). Also, with all due respect, but you don't get to tell anyone who is a true BIONICLE fan or not. Also, I don't think anyone is actually demanding Tahu be female from now on, we are only considering the possibility of having more female characters in the Toa Mata team in the case of a retelling/reboot of the story considering BIONICLE has not been precisely exemplary in the way it has dealt with gender so far. -Gata
  12. That comment is so offensive I can't really believe what I just read. First of all, even regardless of the Toa Mata, why isn't gender equality necessary in BIONICLE? And what on earth does porn have to do with that? It seems you are saying that the mere presence of female characters in a storyline implies there has to be some sort of sexual context, which is extremely offensive and purely sexist. Not only that, you are taking the sexual context to the extreme. -Gata
  13. I suppose we would have seen more if the theme had lasted longer. Though it's true Mata Nui featured many more and much more interesting settings from the beginning. -Gata
  14. On the matter of gender, I wouldn't really like it if the original Toa (or any of the original characters) got their genders changed, simply because that's not how I knew them. However, I'm totally open for new female characters and a better gender ratio. Also, the rule that one element has exclusively male or female members was pretty stupid in my opinion, but I'm glad they got rid of that for the Bara Magna storyline (where there was still a great lack of female characters, though). -Gata
  15. Vezon's mask was last used in 2007 on Maxilos, if I recall, so it's most likely long gone. -Gata
  16. Interesting. Story-wise, it would actually make some sense for the Ignika to revert all the Toa Nuva back to their original forms so the first Toa who'd have the chance the wear the Golden Armor could do so and not just Tahu. -Gata
  17. Not sure where you're getting that from, they were depicted as tall in the 8th graphic novel. -Gata
  18. If you're worried, you can just the supposed leaked information from your post, as it was already posted a few sites back. :P -Gata
  19. Has the purported clear version of the second image actually been uploaded somewhere? -Gata
  20. No, it's not, I agree. I understand the logic behind releasing the heroes in two waves and I accept it, but personally I prefer them all to be released in a wave. -Gata
  21. No, they don't, if this is set far enough in the future. Which I think I would prefer to a reboot but hey, we'll see. -Gata
  22. Keep in mind that while the green sets were from the jungle tribe in 2009, the green Glatorian still had air powers, so nothing would need to change there. If we do indeed get the six Toa Mata back, that is definitely not what I expected. Not sure what to make of this. -Gata
  23. They just colored some random Hero Factory pieces without putting much thought into whether they actually exist in those colors or not. I fail to see the sensation. :P -Gata
  24. Hey, that line was pretty awesome, actually (in my opinion). -Gata
