  1. I'd think it's a good bet to get some Orc/Goblin packs at some point. I'm sure it's not a top priority right now, as Lego is trying to flesh out the line (getting Fellowship members in each set). Nothing in the US that I've found. So, far I just have the Frodo polybag from TRU and that was somewhat tough to find. I'm really hoping if the Uruk-Hai polybag gets here, that it's a Target or Walmart item, as I have a better shot at those. And I certainly hope it's not one of those TRU polybags where you have to buy their marked-up sets just to get one.
  2. Wow, that's a stellar build. I especially like Tion Medon and his counsulars and the little Utais. Also the Crab Droid and are both very creative.
  3. I'd say in general if there's any set that one feels is good deal at a sale price, then one should go for it. If the price is holding you back and now you've found one at a price you can handle, then I'd say now there's nothing holding you back. Plus, as a LOTR fan myself, it's a great set.
  4. I wasn't familiar with the Apple set, so I had to look it up. Seems like a pretty fun build for the younger audience - small set, easily recognizable item. And I can see how it would be a great teacher/school set. I'd agree that the current Statue of Liberty bag could be a bit better.
  5. Never did find this Thor in the US. It seems TRU got them in for about a day and they were gone. My polybag Hulk is lonely...
  6. Even though I'm not crazy about the actress that plays Pepper, I also would like to see more support-style characters made, as they are pretty important to the story and the main characters. Eventually, we could get to Mary Jane, Lois Lane, etc type characters.
  7. Well, the Avengers movie Cap is more an Ultramarines blue (especially in the still pics) and the Lego Cap is more a navy blue. To me it's just a tad bit darker than I'd prefer, but I can see where the shading is so close that it could depend on the perspective.
  8. Looks like TRU is offering the Coffin Car on $20 Monster Fighter set purchases. Makes me wish the MF line had an army-builder Zombie set already. In taking another look, it seems the MF sets are, of course, marked up around $2-5 each.
  9. Might have been a mix-up with your order and someone else's, though that is a long shot. Still, that was very good of you to let them know you got an extra set. I know alot of people on other forums would have been bragging about how they kept it.
  10. Best: Star Wars Boba Fett (from last year's Slave 1). Just lots of detail and a great look. Worst: I would agree that the Star Wars Clone Wars humans look really bad. I would also add in Avengers Captain America - I just don't like the head and darker colors. I guess it's also personally disappointing because Caps one of my favorite Marvel characters.
  11. Great pics. Thanks for posting those.
  12. Actually, I think we're also seeing alot of Guillermo del Toro's designs/styles, as well.
  13. If it were me, I'd go with Diagon Alley; but I'm a HP fan. I just get the impression that some of these last HP sets are going to be harder to find once they finally leave stores. Sets like the Joust are great, but once LOTR/Hobbit ends, I think Lego will go back to a classic medieval line and we'll see something similiar to the Joust again.
  14. I'm waiting to make a final judgement until I see it in context. I mean, for me the Battle of Helm's Deep in the TT was epic and makes the Lego set that much more interesting and desirable. Same with Weathertop to some degree. Right now Attack of the Wargs looks good, but once I see the actual movie scene, that will seal the deal on whether or not I must have it. About the only one I feel 100% safe on would be Bag End.
  15. Target has some good Lego LOTR sales this week. Helm's Deep: MSRP $129.99 / Sale $98.80 Mines of Moria: MSRP $79.99 / Sale: $58.90
  16. That box art is great. The deeper green looks alot better than this year's white/blue. Plus, they choose a great classic ROTS pic of Yoda, rather then the strangely posed shot of Maul from this year. As for the minifigures, it looks like the printing has stepped up - I see good leg printing on Obi-Wan, Han, and the troops. Certainly a good trade-off, as the face printing really can't get much better on minifigures like Han, at least they can add more printing everywhere else. Though pricing might still be a factor. As for the sets, I'm only interested in less than half of them. Rancor, A-Wing, and the Geonosian Battlepack (though I wish it came with two infantry Clones rather than an infantry and Sergeant Clone). The crab-walker and Old Republic sets look pretty cool, but not in my canon. In any case, it does give me some time to catch-up with other Star wars sets I'm missing and with LOTR/Hobbit.
  17. That's very clever - looks perfect.
  18. I would also recommend Luke's Landspeeder, primarily for the minifigures - they're a great start to a Star Wars collection. I'd also suggest the Ewok Attack set, as it's very well done - the new Ewoks are great.
  19. I guess TRU is tired of sitting on over-priced exclusives and might get more movement out of a smaller set. Granted the MSRP for Riddles should be $10-12 and TRU will mark it up to $16, it's still a very good set that will move well anywhere. I find it funny that the article states there is one ring for the two to fight over. That person must not have seen the Shelob set with three rings...
  20. I board itself is alittle hard to see, but otherwise, I have no critiques whatsoever. Very outstanding!
  21. Palpatine's Arrest and Boba Fett keychain. I was disappointed that I couldn't find any of the magnet sets with the classic Boba Fetts that weren't glued, so I had to go the keychain route. I still have a regular classic Boba, but wanted to keep that one stored away and use a spare - this one is good enough.
  22. Looks alot like the Playmates exclusive Leo action figures in all black, just without the highlights. Looks kind of cool, but it's just another reminder that Lego reall should make their exclusives also available on their site. They're one of the only companies out there that make con exclusives that don't offer at least a few on their site for those that can't attend. If this is going for $200+, than Lego is leaving money behind - put it on their site and charge $50 and these would fly.
  23. I don't actually like the new show look, however, I think Lego really captured it here. Each Turtle has their inidividual facial expression, the shells and printing look good. My only complaint are the weapons - Michelango's just look awkward and Donatello's looks like a brown version of Darth Maul's lightsaber. I'll be watching this line with some interest, but it'll still take alot for me to get into the new show in the first place.
  24. I'd go with Anakin's Jedi Interceptor, Geonosian Starfighter, Naboo Starfighter, or Saesee Tiin's Starfighter. All are great builds and have reall well done minifigures (some are evn brand new).
  25. Any thoughts on where to meet? I'm not overly familiar with the area, so I don't have any suggestions.
