Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
HawkLord replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
With Avengers 2, a rumored Hulk 3 (with Ruffalo), and Hulk being a huge Marvel character in his own right, I'm positive we'll see Hulk again - so I can wait. -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
HawkLord replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I sort of knew that this set was going to be alittle lackluster for me, but after buying several figures on the first day I found them, I haven't really even looked at them all that much since. I mean, they're great figures, but maybe Series 7 was just such a tough act to follow for me. -
I have no idea who Pre Vizsla is, but that is a really cool mod.

Wow, not being a CW or EU fan means the only sets I'll be getting are the Rancor Pit and A-Wing. Which is fine because the Rancor Pit looks pretty decent, the more I look at it and the A-Wing would have an Ackbar that I don't have anyway.

That used to be true during the movie years and even for awhile afterwards, but I've seen that change alot in the past few years. Star Wars fans are only after good stuff these days and no longer seem to buy up everything with a Star Wars label. Just take a look at most retail stores and you can easily descern what sells and what doesn't. I think we're now in the buy-anything-superhero era. I've seen the '03 Micro-series and liked it. I tried to make it thru the '08 series and couldn't. I think the '08 series wasn't very interesting and I couldn't stand the fact that Anakin had a student, while still being a student of Obi-Wan's. The "always two there are" Yoda quote must have been forgotten at that point. Still, both series (and the CW movie) are considered canon. I guess I'm just a Star Wars live-action purist. -
Very nice review of a good little set. I'd have bought a couple if I ever found them.

I gotta find those. Might even be in for a few of the Orcs...

I'd agree. The Vong reminded me of the Borg. Where the Borg were difficult to hurt because they adapted so quickly and had such advanced tech, the Vong were difficult to hurt because they existed outside the Force and had unique organisms that were advanced biological warfare. In the end, I doubt the Vong would make the cut into the Lego Star Wars series. I'm sure they'd be a weak seller. -
Dear members and moderators of the LEGO Star Wars Forum:

Seems like a quick run thru the "Show Us Your Army" thread could get you that info. -
Sarlacc as a kind of "Little Shop of Horrors" - that's a good idea.

Gardner and the lantern are brilliant. I'd like to see some other lantern colors, as well.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I'd still go with the Grand Emporium and Pet Shop. They just look more interesting and would have a higher "play" value. The SSD is just a big ship that looks good on display and feels more like a "bragging rights" set (no offense to anyone who has it).

Picture Review: #30210 LOTR Polybag
HawkLord replied to Captain BeerBeard's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
TRU has the Frodo polybag free with a $20 purchase. The bag retails for $5, so it's a slight savings when you factor in the usual TRU mark-up. -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

I think Freddies are about 50/50 right now. Without a major army-builder piece, I can't see these being flipper/scalper bait, though. Probably just didn't stock yet. -
Pretty cool concept, though I think the Hulk should be bigger.

That's one of the toughest things about CMF - since you can feel the bags, you can find the hot figures so easily. This means that after a store gets hit a few times all that's left are the least desirable figures. And I'm sure even parents or people buying them as gifts probably stop purchasing those if they notice that all they get are the same figures. I find TRU to hang onto product for a long time without ever clearancing it. TRUs here charge $3.19 for a CMF, while the Lego store, Target, and Walmart (all within five minutes of the TRU) charge the usual MSRP. I would recommend hunting elsewhere. -

Yes. They had one or two cases open and the other cases were still tape sealed behind them. If you manage to get further south, I can probably try to help you with any you're missing or looking for. -

Hit two Freddies today, one had them and one did not. The store that had them was loaded with 5-6 boxes of them. I'm not crazy about that method, because it means one dedicated person could come in and wipe out all of a givne figure - I guess it's a good thing this Series doesn't have a Spartan or something. I ended up with: Fairy x2 Alien Queen x2 Conquistador x3 Man-Bat x2 Pirate x3 Diver x1 I might just be done at this point, since the others don't interest me. -

Awesome. Freddies, it is then. Fortunately, there are quite a few of them and they tend to stock all at once. -
Really great job. It reminds me alot of the transformation on the Hasbro Classics Optimus Prime figure, with alittle bit of the TakTomy MP Prime mixed in. And the GIF is superb.

This will be the first Lego game I've bought since Star Wars. I haven't really much cared for the other Lego games since then, but this one really looks good. On a side note, I do think it looks like blood in the video, but I actually hope it isn't. Sure, I loved the LOTR movies and those were bloody, but with Lego I like to keep it a bit more clean.

Sure, it's not a flashy set with fancy swords or armor, but it captures the feel of a Hobbit perfectly - that's what I like the most about it. It's a Hobbit doing his favorite things: eating, drinking, and there's even a flower for gardening. This'll definitely be a good addition to the Bag End set coming out later this year. I ended up getting two copies of it. -
Another Uruk Hai army and the Frodo bag x2.

Sounds like we have some Seattle northenders here. Time to start networking on the finds. -
Monster set seems like a solid release for me. People have wanted Zombies and granted I think this one could use a couple more of them, it's probably as close as we'll get since Lego also has to make the sets interesting.
