Thanks for the compliment! I really appreciate the reactions. It makes all of the time it put into it worthwhile . Be sure to post your background stories once you've formalised things! I love to read stuff like that .

Oh my! That's A LOT of soldiers your husband got there . Do you have any close-ups of how the Scythian chariots are built? I'm glad I could inspire you, even though I'm not much of an army builder myself . I ought to take some pictures of the different armies I have. Boy, do they look insignificant compared to most of the armies here .

Amazing ! You really deserved the prizes you won, if if the sci-fi category is a bit odd for this MOC . Those colour effects on the cliffs are really cool and add a bit of realism to the entire build. Adding Nougat and Earth Orange (?) to a rockface in a defined pattern is something I've not seen done before much. The ruins also look really lovely, as do the trees. The entire build has a really "natural" and unforced feel to me, which is great !

Heroica RPG - Quest#2: Looking Through the Wares
Khorne replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Eric roars as blood gushes grom the enemies' wounds. He notices one guard dropping to his knees and falling on the ground due to Atramor's doing. Eric then focuses on the remaining guard, seeking to kill him. Eric will attack Shadeaux Guard (Spear) from the front row. -
Very nice creation! At first I found the white exterior to be a bit bland, so I googled 'In-N-Out Burger' to see how their establishments look in real life (since I'm not familiar with it) and apparently that how they look. The details you put in are great. The building looks real tiny from the outside, but it sure contains a lot on the inside! The uniforms look really good, too. The combination of the baseball cap and cook torso are a real winner here .

Not a bad start! I'm no pro in building tanks and stuff, so it's definitely better than something I could come up with. I have to agree with people who said the turret could use a little work. I look morel ike a motorized howitser to me than a real tank turret. May be it's because it's open-topped and has a rather short barrel . I would also make the front a bit shorter if it's possible. It kind of seems rather long at the moment. Other than that, well done! Does it fit a minifigure inside?

Well done! It gives me a kind of 'Deadwood thoroughfare' feeling (from HBO's eponymous Deadwood series). The street is bustling with life and unique characters. I really love those "ladies of the night" you put together. The Collectible minifig heads really fit them well and add to their character. The saloon is definitely my favourite part of your MOC. But I second Captain Green Hair's suggestion to change the 'Deadwood Saloon' sign. The woodgrain on the background is a bit too detailed and too real to look like a LEGO sticker. Maybe if you just used the Deadwood Saloon letters and put a cartoonized woodgrain behind it (something like this here), it would look more LEGO-ish .

Very nice ! The explosion is really well done. The colour gradiation comes out nice and items such as the door flying, minifig and water flying away real add to the impression of a strong blast. Another great detail is the dust rising up from the cart's wheels. Really, really great ! *EDIT* As MstrofPppts already said, I wouldn't mix fleshies and normal yellow minifigs together, it kind of looks odd, especially since there is such an overwhelming number of yellow minifigs in the scene .

This is interesting . The fact that the number seems to suggest a D2C set makes me very curious. Hopefully they'll include some nicely-made tribunes and stuff like that . Unless new factions are going to be released next year, I strongly believe it will be a Dragons vs. Lions joust. MMV was also a D2C set and the soldiers they used there were just generic Crown soldiers as well.

Well, that's a stupid list ! Hogwarts? It's not even part of the castle line! And what's that good-ugly Fright Knight abomination doing there? If it were me making the list, I wouldn't even include King Leo's castle. It's just a bunch of modules stuck on a baseplate, barely worthy of the name 'castle'. The same goes for Hemlock Stronghold. It's not a castle! If you want to make a decent 'Top 10 LEGO Castles of all time', at least include legendary beauties such as 6090 Royal Knights' Castle, 6086 Black Knights' Castle, maybe even 6081 King's Mountain Fortress and if you're feeling really generous and want to include a newer castle, than at least pick this one (7946 King's Castle) over the Vladek one. Donut made a good list, but I wouldn't count the Guarded Inn and the Medieval Market Village as castles .

Heroica RPG - Quest#2: Looking Through the Wares

Oh, okay. In that case, nevermind then . Eric will attack Shadeaux Guard (Sword) from the front line (without venom). -
Heroica RPG - Quest#2: Looking Through the Wares
Khorne replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Eric grinned at the sight of fresh blood to be spilled. He gripped his sword tight once more and anointed the blade with venom. He opened the intricate metal clasp holding his heavy fur cloak and threw it off, it would only impede his movement during the coming battle. Eric will attack Shadeaux Guard (Sword) from the front line. -

Indeed, the rats gave us a harder time than the guard dog did. Maybe the Shadeaux should start using rats instead of dogs to guard their warehouses . -

Since we need to check out the entire warehouse, the best place to go would be the second aisle, I guess. Did we check these crates for valuables already? -
Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
Khorne replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I feel like I'm spamming the topic with this post, but really, all I can say is: ! It looks awesome! -
Wow! That's a lot of people already signed up! There will have to be loads of Quests to keep all of the heroes entertained . It's no surprise really that Knights and Rangers are the most-picked class. Knights are just your basic hack and slash kind of guy and Rangers are the basic ranged class. Plus, they also have popular culture on their side. Knights are the archtypical medieval character, so subconsciously I think this plays a part in class selection. The same goes for Rangers. I think people like Legolas and the like still linger in the people's minds, making them like the Ranger class over the others. These are just my thoughts. I'm sure this doesn't apply to all of you .

Heroica RPG - Quest#2: Looking Through the Wares

Eric roared as blood splattered all over the place when he chopped the rats into pieces. His blade had taken control of him, its thirst for fresh blood awakened by the killing of the guard dog. As Eric stabbed one rat to death, all of its blood seemed to be drained by the lethal blade. Nothing but an empty husk remained. Eric now eyed the remaining critters, ready to strike again. Eric will attack the dark grey rat, charging from the front line. -
Thanks! They look really good! I saw your PM yesterday, but I experienced some computer difficulties and forgot to reply later on. Sorry ! I appreciate you making these, but I don't use decals that much to be honest. My printer isn't good enough to print them, so when I print decals, they come out all grainy and blurry . Thanks anyway! I have another small update for you guys. First off, I need to excuse me for the quality of the pictures. The weather's been awful here all week, so the pictures are a bit dark and womewhat grainy due to a lack of proper lighting. I tried to fix 'em up in Photoshop, but to no avail . I'll try and take new ones when the weather takes a turn for the better. Anyway, here they are: I changed all remaining black bits to proper dark red ones. The railing is in place and I also started building the masts. This is where the rudder-oar-thingies will come. Right now though, this Atlantean soldier is still king of the world . The front. I finally got to change the orange parts for brown ones. I still need another winch and some rope to add to the other gate. Other than that, the front is largely finished. I also have some bad news. I tried to work on the back again, following a suggestion brought up here. I tried to emulate Jabba's Sail Barge and used these pieces. It didn't work. At all. Frankly, it looked like crap (no offense to the person who made the suggestion, I'm glad you did make the suggestion). The pieces aren't wide enough to cover the entire rear and leave large gaps . So my question to you: any other suggestions to make the back? Pretty please?

Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
Khorne replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
No, that's not what I meant . I know it's not a real building. What I was trying to say was, that it really, really looks like a real building (but it's not a real building). The reason why I said it looks like a real building is because the style you built it in really resembles the actual medieval building style of southern Germany . I hope I explained myself better this time . *EDIT* The new update looks great, as always ! The chimney is well-built and covers the "gap" at the back really well! Can't wait to see this building placed in your landscape . -
Does Kingdoms live up to Castle expectations?
Khorne replied to K-Nut's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yes, I certainly think the Kingdoms line lives up to castle expectations. The designs of the sets, though definitely 'modern', do have certain "classic" feel to them. The current King's Castle is even more "classic-like" than the castle we had in the fantasy Castle line. The inclusion of civilian orientated sets also put this line above previous ones, IMO. I don't really count the Castle line as that seperate from the Kingdoms one. Set and minifig design are somewhat the same, so they can perfectly fit together. But, I do think Kingoms is slightly better then (fantasy) Castle. I do love the fantasy element, but I like the all-human factions more. Set design for Kingdoms is also slightly better. It is as if the Castle sets were a testing ground for the designers to get back into real castle-mode (and not those ugly KKII things), and then used their newfound inspiration to create the Kingdoms line. In terms of minifigs, I think the new lines certainly outclass the old, classic ones. Minifig designs are much better and each minifig gets its own character through the many different prints available. Kingdoms even brought us the great helm, so we definitely have nothing to complain about in terms of minifigs . -

"Sneaky Shadeaux bastards. Is this all you got?!" Eric tightened his hold on Godricsleif, ready to draw more blood. Eric will attack the grey rat (next to the brown one) from the first row. -
Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
Khorne replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
My thoughts exactly! I've been to Bavaria several times now and it does look like a building that could immediatly fit in. I think its mostly the guild shields coupled with the fachwerkhaus-style that make it look so real.
