Eric was enjoying his time at the seaside. The swim had been rejuvenating in way and Eric felt he could take on the whole world. He had watched the ships leave and enter Eubric and reminisced about his own experiences at sea. How he and his tribe raided many waterside villages, towns and even cities ,then scurried off back into the anonimity of the sea with all the loot they had captured. Those were the days. The tall Nord figured it got time for him to return to Heroia Hall. He had heard a rumour about a new drinking game some were eager to try at the saloon. Eric sure couldn't pass up on an opportunity like that. One should enjoy life and bring out the best of it whenever possible. Next to being a great warrior, Eric was also gifted with the -at least amongst Norse- well-respected ability to take in huge quantities of alcohol and food. Maybe he would even be able to impress some female Elven Ranger with his renowned qualities. Eric stood up from the sandy beach and brushed the sea-salt from his hair, using a bone comb he had carved himself when he was still a kid. "No woman will ever be impressed by a sloppy-looking man," Eric thought as he combed his long, blond hair. Norse men were known for their vanity and their long hair was one of their most precious possessions. When he was finished, Eric hung the comb back on his broad leather belt, picked up Godricsleif and ran towards Heroica Hall, eager for a good meal and some heavy drinking. He hoped he could see his friends Tesni and Jess, again. Maybe he'd even make some new ones, since new folks were joining the Heroica guild by the minute.

Is it winter in Eubric Free Port ? I thought it was kind of established (between the lines) that the weather was rather nice and sunny? Plus, I also figured Eubric to be in the South, where snow and ice are rare (at least during summer). Could someone shed some light on this? Or should we establish some "rule"/fact about the location of Eubric City and the weather here, 'cause it's just odd that the weather changes from one minute to the other . I don't mean to bash your post dragunov, but it was something that bothered me . Oh no? Not even a Barbarian ? Challenge accepted *grin*

Amazing figs, each and every one of them! I love the samurai . Did you sculpt the facemask yourself?

For a list of locations already in the game, I'd suggest you go take a look at the official Heroica website. Some regions and locations are mentioned in the character bios in "the Book of Lore". EDIT Here's I list I did reading "the Book of Lore". "GOOD" REGIONS Region: Mountains of Barresh (home of the Barbarian guy) Location: North [of Ennon] Place: Unknown mystical city (home of the Mage) Location: unknown [oustide Ennon, presumably) Region: The ancient forests (home of the Druid) Location: not specified Place: Drandora Port (home of the Rogue) Location: not specified (presumably at some sea or river) Region: Forests of Ennon (home of the Ranger) Location: in the Kingdom of Ennon Region: Kingdom of Ennon (home of the Knight) Location: main stage for the Heroica Quest apparently "EVIL" REGIONS Place: Castle Fortaan Location: Capital of Ennon, now overrun by Orcs Place: Draida Bay Location: At the seaside presumeably. I believe it's Ennon's busiest port. Region: Waldurk Forest Location: Most likely inside the Kingdom of Ennon, but this isn't made clear. Region: Caverns of Nathuz Location: Also most likely to be situated in Ennon, but it's not really made clear. EDIT 2: Found some sort of map here. Other, smaller version:

Eric lifted his head from the table. Apparently, his tiredness had gotten the better of him last night and he had fallen asleep. Maybe it was for the best, since he doesn't really like being in a big crowd and he was sitting at the most crowded table in the saloon, after all. "This place is crowdier than my native country," Eric thought. In the back of his head he remotely heard some of the conversations of last night, he must've subconsciously picked up while sleeping. He was confused by the voices, many of them were new and he had not heard them before. "Gah, I need food," he muttered, rubbing his eyes. Eric looked around and noticed many people he knew had left the bar and had been replaced with new faces. Amongst them a Dwarf and another Mage. Eric yawned and quickly ate the breakfast he had ordered. He grabbed his sword and smiled a goodbye at Jess, the Elven Rogue he had met the first night. As Eric stepped outside the doors, he was momentarily blinded by the sunlight that was shining strongly. "Great day to spend outdoors," he thought and left for the sea, eager for swim in the cold water. That would surely waken him up. Maybe he would even be able to do some sword practicing on his own. He looked forward to this new day.

Another Barbarian . Looks like the Barbarians are ironically some of the most decent folks around .
-
"Indeed. Strength is a great quality to be renowned for, a top ideal to strive to," Eric acknowledged, "One day, when the time is ripe, you will be able to exact your revenge upon the perpetrators of the evil that befell you. Every action deserves fitting consequences." Eric looked at the greenskin. The creature was imposing and bulky, as is common for an Orc. It was the only being in the room nearly matching Eric's hight and burly physique. "You said you smelled blood, Orc, do you reckon trouble is brewing?" Eric inquired. Even though Eric's blade thirsted for blood and despite being a fighter himself, Eric was not in the mood for trouble. He had slept all afternoon, but was starting to feel drowsy again. He let the others do most of the talking. For now, he was happy to have found some decent company in this Hall. He held his sword tightly and smiled, but it was barely noticeable to the others.

Eric cleared his plate of all leftover food and investigated the saloon. He kind of felt lonely and was searching for some company. Eric grabbed Godrisleif and stood up, ready to go see Tesni, the female Barbarian, again. As he did, he noticed another male coming through the heavy oak doors of the Heroica Hall. He was blonde and had peculiar grey eyes. There was something odd about him, but Eric couldn't quite put his finger on it. Eric cleared a way to the group surrounding Tesni and the newcomer. The Orc sitting with them was staring around with a dumb look on his face, but he seemed to enjoy himself. A Mage accompanied the group, as well. It was the same one Eric had seen running outside yesterday. Eric stopped at the desired table. He nodded kindly toward the Barbarian, but waiteds to introduce himself to the others, they would have to do the talking first. If he deemed them worthy, he would pay them in kind and give them his name. He stared at each one of the group, one at a time, slightly smiling. He wasn't here to pick a fight, but he'd stand his ground if they challenged him.

Unarmoured and clad in his black tunic, Eric entered the Hall of the Heroica guild. Towering over most of the other visitors, his vision was not impaired by the multitude of Adventurers running about. He immediatly spotted the trigger-happy youngster again and sighed. He hoped not to be put in a team together with such a brat. Eric once again pushed his way through the crowds, glaring at those he didn't like, which was in fact, most of the other people. He went upstairs and ordered a meal and some beers again. He put off his greatsword that was slung around him and put it on the chair next to him. "Vad har vi kommit oss i?*" he muttered under his breath, seemingly adressing his beloved blade. As he scanned the Hall, his cold, blue eyes taking in all peculiarities, Scheherazade brought his meal. "Dig in" she bluntly said and left again. The bar sure was busy. Eric grinned and shook his head as he saw the Orc clapping at the red-haired Ranger's actions. The Orc's stupidity and gullibility were amusing, almost charming. Maybe Eric would talk to the greenskin later on in the evening. *What have we got ourselves into?

After spending the afternoon sleeping, Eric decided to head back to the Heroica Hall again. His stomach was rumbling, he was so terribly hungry and thirsty. The food and ale he had yesterday was rather good and so was some of the company there. As the first Quest wouldn't start untill Friday, Eric decided to leave his armour at his room in the inn. He hurriedly put on his tunic and fastened his leather vambraces. Doubtingly, he looked at Godricsleif, his sword that was lying on the bed. He sat down next to it and unsheated the finely crafted weapon. Along the middle line of the blade it was decorated with beautifully carved runes. The runes, ancient symbols first used by the Dwarves and later taught to Man, read something in Norse. Eric let his hand slide alongside his trusty blade and whispered: "Fader. Broder. Barn." Eric rested his head on his sword, reminiscing about painful memories from the past. "Godric..." he muttered, a tear nearly welling up in his eye-corner. He then quickly pulled himself back together and put the sword back in its sheath with great difficulty, as if the sword didn't want to be put back. Eric stood up and left the room. He went downstairs and strode to the Hall, confident and arrogant as ever, ready to see some new faces.

I'd also be interested to host a Quest eventually, but I'll have to see first how these play out .

Well, you used to be able to view the Kingdoms map on LEGO's website, but apparently not anymore. The Knights Kingdom 2 map was printed in all instruction booklets and the LEGO Castle (Fantasy Era) map was found in some LEGO Magazine. You can find most of these on brickshelf, though. I have them saved on my computer and I'll upload them to brickshelf later tonight, so they'll be easier to find. If I have uploaded them, I'll post the deeplinks here . EDIT Brickshelf's down again . I'll just upload the maps tommorow then. EDIT 2 I've uploaded them . View them here (once the folder is moderated, of course )

There's an equal amount of Rangers as there are Knights and Rogues number five, so they do follow closely behind . I did expect to see more Mages, though, just a meagre 2 of them at the moment .

Eric had spent the entire night at the saloon of the Heroica Hall, sharing stories with his his table companions. He mostly listened to the stories of the others, though. He always did love to hear a good story, but wasn't much of a spokesman himself. He felt extremely tired, and even though it was already late in the afternoon, he decided to get some rest for tonight would most likely be a busy one yet again. Eric bid farewell to Tesni, the female Barbarian. He was not one for politeness and etiquette, but he held her in high esteem, she looked like a great fighter and also didn't seem to be as hot-headed or boastful as many of the other Adventurers. Eric nodded to Jess, the Elven Ranger that also sat at the table and left. As he went downstairs to the exit, he noticed more people had joined the revelry. He was relieved to see some Clerics amongst them, after all, the other people in Eric's future party might be in need of healing during battle. Eric was a great warrior, but none can last long without the support of the other partymembers. Eric pushed open the doors, ready to leave the Hall. The minute he stepped outside he heard someone yelling to Jess. He looked back and saw an argument ensuing between a young, red-haired Ranger and first Bacari and later Jess. "Dåraktiga barn, kommer han att få oss alla dödade," he muttered in his native tongue, greatly annoyed by the display of the hot-headed youngster. With that, the tall, fur-clad Nord left the buidling.

Looks like another interesting character joined the fray . There sure are a lot of Adventurers in the Hall now .

You could upload a picture on a photo-sharing website such as brickshelf and then put the deeplink to the picture in your sig. There's a tutorial for posting pictures somewhere on the site, I think (I'm not sure). Hope this helped.

I made my LEGO castle kingdoms world a map based on all the maps provided by LEGO, such as the Kingdoms map on their website and the Knight Kingdom 2 map that used to be in the instruction booklets accompanying the sets. Here's my map. Still need to give the Vikings and Ninjas a piece of land, though. My list of kingdoms can be found in the description . EDIT Atlantis is clearly an invention of mine, as there haven't been any maps published by LEGO to date concerning their Atlantis line.

Är du from up North, too? Eric asked, even though he already figured the answer was negative. He took another bite from his meat and a bit of blood ran down his chin. He liked his meat rare, very rare.He downed his ale and turned to the Elven Rogue. "Ja, jag är Norse, but I have never heard of this woman you speak of. Then again, it's been a while since I last saw my home" Eric said, his voice going silent as he neared the end of his sentence. Eric decided to enjoy the rest of the meal and just let the others talk. He was more of a silent guy. Few of words, great in deeds. He only spoke when necessary.
-
"Ja, I är Norse. I lived by the sea, so I probably come from the low? Excuse me, if I fail to understand your question here", Eric was caught by surprise by the questions. Even though he has roamed the world and had learned many great things during his roaming Viking life, proper English was not one of them. He didn't lose his steadiness, though, and remained confident and cool-headed as ever."What do you mean, you shouted across? Across the mountains?" Eric asked. He felt dumb, even though in reality, he was everything but a dumb brute. Well, maybe just a brute, but certainly not stupid. "Here's the meal and your drink" Scheherazade interrupted "Enjoy..." She turned and went back to the bar. Eric stuffed the food in his mouth, he was figuratively dying of hunger. "Jag är Eric. Who är du?" he asked, munching his meal and drinking his ale.

It's not a coincidence . As Sandy already pointed out, Scheherazade is the person who tells the 1001 stories in 1001 nights. Sandy already alluded to the one thousand story/one thousands nights thingie here, in her second post: I loved the subtle reference .

Eric stepped back inside the Heroica Hall, now swarming with people eagerly looking for a job. The building was full of Knights and Rangers, mostly, with the occasional Mage thrown in, as well. Eric looked around and decided to take another peek at the Quest Board. If he ever wanted to see some battle, he might as well sign up for as many Quests as possible, hopefully one of the contractors would hire his skills. He read the missions and decided to put his name down for Quest #2. Eric barged his way through the crowd and walked upstairs to the saloon. There, even more Adventurers were found talking and enjoying theirselves. The Viking spotted some new faces amongst those he had already seen, one of these new faces was a fellow Barbarian. A woman at that. Seeing as her table was the only free one available, he walked over to her and asked her if she minded if he sat there, too. He never waited for her reply and sat down before she could object. After all, she probably didn't mind anyway, since she's really busy cleaning her sword and all. Eric called the Scheherazade and ordered something to eat and drink. Can't sleep well on an empty stomach, now can you? Eric signed up for Quest #2: Looking Through the Wares

As I've already said in the Heroica thread, great MOC! The mottling using a lot of different colours is well done and really gives that "special" touch to the building. But the thing I like most of all is the Quest board. I just love the cluttered look of it . Oh, it's also good to see a picture of the bar, somehow, I envisioned it to be bigger, with all the characters sitting there and all in the RPG .

Eric nodded affirmitavely. "Aye, I come from the high North. Pirates, you say? We will get along just fine" A booming laugh resonated through the saloon. Both Eric and Atramor slowly looked over their shoulders. At a table at the far end of the saloon, Eric spotted the source of all the laughter. An elderly fellow flanked by two women was seemingly enjoying himself. Eric detested the man already. He cared little for boasters and show-offs, he prefered living proof and great action to boastful talk and tall-tales. He gladly accepted the beer the guy bought him, though. The saloon was getting too crowded for Eric's liking. He hated to be locked up in an enclosed space and he especially hated it when, on top of the space being enclosed, it was also filled to the brim with people. Eric didn't liked being touched by strangers at all, be it accidentally or purposely. He longed for combat and adventure and craved to be in the outdoors again, or on the rough sea sailing his longboat. He longed for his homelands and despised the South, its people and its silly customs. But deep inside, he knew he couldn't return North again, for he wasn't welcome at home anymore. He got off his chair and nodded farewell to Atramor as is customary and polite, even though Eric couldn't care less for customs or being polite. He strode to the exit, pushing all those who stood in his way and glaring angrily at all who crossed his path. When he finally did get outside, he saw a Mage running around in a hurry. Eric sighed and looked up at the stars. Being in touch with his forefathers always eased his mind.

Just like Sandy offered, I too, volunteer to build and photograph a minifigure if someone hasn't got the parts, etc. to make one . Just shoot me a PM or post in this topic. I'd like to say first that, even though my collection is reasonable, I don't really have a lot of the newer minfig parts (it's been a while since I bought any new sets). I do have plenty of older stuff, though.

Hmmm, I could join Quest #2, as well, I guess . But I think I'd rather leave a slot open for someone who hasn't had the opportunity yet to enlist in one of the Quest. Will you be hosting all three Quests yourself, Sandy? I imagine that's got to be a lot of work .
