  1. Oooh, nice banner . Looks like a really fun Quest. Who knows, Eric could join once he finished the current Quest. It would be nice to see him going back to the North in a Quest . One of my (many) Quest ideas (which I never seem to be able to execute or finish) also involved Draugr and other Norse mythological stuff and was also situated in the North.
  2. Those figures look ace . The printing looks so very detailed. I do wonder why they haven't released pictures of the Rohirrim soldier or Haldir yet. I mean, they've given pictures of all the bad guys, so why not do the same with the good guys?
  3. is eagerly awaiting the LotR sets!

  4. As has been said before, ISC did a great job here in the History subforum. I've no doubt he'll continue to amaze us with great MOCs.
  5. Another great addition to the story! Once again: brilliant MOCs. I was especially surprised by the dragon. Is it a complete build or did you only build its head and wings? The castle is fantastic, too. The bridge between both buildings makes it look really fantasy-like.
  6. Eric grew even more frustrated as yet another of his attacks missed. During the assault, the mechanical enemy even managed to fire its Tri-Dazer cannon. The magical blast landed on the Barbarian, ripping open his flesh, causing a severe wound. Blood poured out. Eric felt his power seeping away. He wouldn't give up, though. This automaton had to go down, no matter what. Eric hung Grom back on his belt and unsheathed Godricsleif. With his Power weakened he had to use the strongest of both weapons if he truly wished to be effective in battle. Hoping, the fight would turn in his favour, the wounded Nord charged once more, lunging his great sword forward. Eric will attack Automaton Beta from the front row, using Godricsleif. Battle order: Ad-Hoh Eric Christopher Erdathcath Hybros Maurice
  7. I'm feeling the pain, too. I might as well sit aside in my current Quest. All I've done is taking hits and missing attacks. I haven't got a single hit in this last battle ! The dice are definitely against me on this one.
  8. Oh, for crying out loud! Why am I even still bothering to try to attack? Eric's mounting frustration could no longer be kept inside and was clearly affecting his results. Eric will attack Automaton Beta from the front row, using the Twin Axe. Battle order: Ad-Hoh Eric Christopher Erdathcath Hybros Maurice
  9. Eric usually calm demeanour was slowly ebbing away. Frustrated with the lack of results his attacks were yielding the imposing Nord cried out in anger. His mighty roar was piercing. Impulsively, Eric untied the Pirate Chief's head, which was still dangling at his belt, and threw it on the ground. It seems the gods didn't seem to care about his fate at all. Brutishly the Barbarian landed his heavy boot on the head, splattering it all over the place. Disappointed by his trusty sword, Eric took out Grom'az once more. Hopefully the axe would stand by his side in this battle. Concentrated, Eric charged once more at the enemy. Eric will attack Automaton Beta from the front row using the Twin Axe. Battle order: Ad-Hoh Eric Christopher Erdathcath Hybros Maurice
  10. Eric roared as the automaton carved him up. Blood gashed out of the wounds and ran into his eyes. The Nord was close to going down. It seemed that even his trusty Godricsleif had let him down. Only barely being able to stand on his legs, Eric prepared to attack automaton Beta. Eric will attack automaton B, using Godricsleif from the front row. Battle order: Ad-Hoh Christopher Maurice Eric Erdathcath Hybros
  11. "I hadn't taken the fact that Erdathcath would throw a bomb too in account. Smart thinking, Hybros" Eric complimented his friend. Inside Eric was still confused, not about why Maurice should go last, but how the Nord had gotten to be who he is right now. He had made many mistakes as party leader during this Quest already, even though he had been an experienced leader back in the old days. He had led more than one Viking raid or attack, all of which ended favourably thus adding to the myth that he actually was blessed by the gods. Eric had never felt more insecure than now, but his weakness should not be shown to the outside. The warrior remained cold and serious on the outside, but inside problems were heating up. Right now, his task was to lead this party to a succes. Eric would do so, or die trying. There is no other way, only victory or death can set him free. Battle order: Hybros Lightning bomb Ad-Hoh Lightning bomb Erdathcath Lightning bomb Eric Godricsleif Christopher Normal attack ?? Maurice Sleeping spell
  12. "How will the bombs wake up the automaton, Maurice will enchant the robot after you throw your bombs" the Nord said confused, "do you reckon Maurice should attack first or last then?"
  13. Eric's face turned sour at the sight of the automatons. These wicked machinations should be destroyed, taken apart that not a single cog would remain. Only the gods should have the power to create life. Life and Death is in the hands of deities, and should be kept out of the hands of Man. As luck hadn't been on his side using the Twin Axe, Eric decided to drew his old companion Godricsleif. The blade hummed and whailed quietly. Eric will attack Automaton Delta from the first row. Battle order: Hybros Ad-Hoh Maurice Christopher Eric Erdathcath
  14. "Let Hybros try pressing the buttons first, Cleric, we'll see what happens. If nothing happens, you can smash it to smithereens. Any suggestions for our next course of action? I say we check out the locked door and see where it leads to."
  15. "We'll leave the cannoneers for now and go through the open door. Finding the Bonaparte prisoner or Jolly Roger is our priority right now."
  16. He has a small supporting role in the books. He's being referred to by Gandalf (I think) when he tells of the attack on Dol Guldur (or whatever Sauron's/the Necromancer's base was, can't really remember). In the movies, Peter Jackson will actually put this assault in his movies, instead of just referring to it. So, we might see Saruman in Hobbit sets. However, it would still be the "good" version of Saruman, although I doubt there'll be much difference in appearance between LotR Saruman and the Hobbit one.
  17. "I think we covered about everything on this level, so let's check out where this stairs leads us to"
  18. Eric was relieved that the Zombie's curse was wearing off. As he opened his eyes, he saw Ad-Hoh recoiling from his powerful attack. Eric was glad Ad-Hoh was with them. Even though Eric was sceptical of mages, he had to admit Ad-Hoh could do more than just brewing potions and reading arcane books. The mage could certainly stand in battle. Eric went through the pile of dead bodies and dug up the loot. Among it was a Brass Key which he pocketed. Division of loot: Ad-Hoh - Banana Christopher Erdatcath - Rum Eric - Brass Key Hybros - Lightning Bomb Maurice - Potion After dividing the spoils, Eric spoke: "Let's see if this key can open up the prison back there."
  19. Wow, those figures look absolutely fantastic . Can't wait to see the designs of the other LotR figs such as Uruk-Hai, Orcs, Goblins and Rohirrim. From what I'm seeing here, they'll surely be stunning, too. I love the hobbits' hair and the printing on all the figs. I do like Legolas' face print. It looks snobbish and serene, like an Elf should be.
  20. "Argh, cursed! I'd hoped the Zombie would've been truly dead by now. Let's hit it again, it's bound to go down." Eric shouted, still blinded and poison still running through his veins. He started to feel abandonned, despite being surrounded by companions. The strong link he had with the Norse gods was fading, the faith he placed in them faltering. Once, he had been favored above all others by them. Blessed with great strength and dexterity by Torrik, gifted with martial skill and prowess second only to the great god Wartan himself. Even the Ice Queen Helvetia looked favorably upon him and pledged her aid in his task. Now, however, Eric didn't feel particularly ace. He felt as if the embrace of the gods was lessening the longer it took him to complete his mission. The requisite for being able to return home. Years he had wandered, but he hadn't been able to redeem himself. Not yet. Never had he lost his Norse pride and faith in the old ways, but now the great warrior started to doubt even the gods themselves. Had they lost their faith in him? Eric dug in his pack and whipped out a potion. Slowly he put the vial to his lips and drank its contents. Eric takes a potion. Battle Order: Ad-Hoh darkness attack Maurice lightning bomb Erdathcath holy bomb (??) Christopher fire bomb (??) Hybros (??) Eric potion
  21. As news of the Arena reached the great halls of Childeric King, he knew that he, too, would have to send a great champion to upkeep his honor. After all, what self-respecting Nord would pass up on a chance for a good brawl. Thus it was decreed that Havardr, son of Hákon, huscarl in service of the great chieftain would go East. There he would spill blood in the Arena to defend the honor and glory of his Lord, or die trying.
  22. Eric nodded in confirmation of Erdathcath's suggestion. Eric will try to swing Godricsleif in the Zombie's direction, hopefully hurting it. From the back row, of course . Battle Order: Ad-Hoh magic Hybros fire bomb Christopher holy bomb Erdathcath fire bomb Eric Maurice potion
  23. "Maurice and I are last in the battle order. I'm hoping the zombie would be taken out before we have to 'attack' it. Therefore my suggestion of using bombs, that way you'll surely damage the zombie as bombs can't miss."
  24. As I've said before, I chose the Barbarian class because my Rogue character would be too alike to Atramor. Plus, Atramor just looked way to cool to top him . I decided to settle with a Barbarian character because at the time I thought it would be an underrepresented class. I figured if people wanted a fighty character, most would go with the Knight class, because of the more 'heroic' aura that surrounds knightly tales. I didn't want some dumb, cliché, brute type of Barbarian with all burl and no brains. I made Eric a Northman, because I find the actual Viking culture very interesting and I really liked the Lego Viking sets. Plus, they also fitted the image I had of the "noble savages". Brute and ferocious, but having a distinct culture on par with the so-called "civilized" nations. When normal Eubricians look at Eric, they'll find him brutal and barbaric, suiting his class. However, this stems from their ignorance surrounding Norse land, traditions and culture. I have a really rough backstory for Eric, which I'm revealling in bits. Other than that, I don't really have any set future plans for him. I'm probably going to be able to pick an Advanced Class after the current Quest. I was going to go with Berserker, since the mixture Knight/Barbarian gives something more "noble" to the Barbarian class in my eyes. It would fit Eric's background. However, recent events during the Quest (aka really bad luck) made me think about changing that choice to reflect his misfortune in the Quest.
  25. Eric suddenly remembered, only persons with a magical connection could get sealed, so this part of the zombie's attack did not have any effect on him. "We should try to take down the zombie this round!" the Nord began. Adressing no one in particular due to the blindness he continued, "Hybros, save that remedy, the effects of the infections will disappear once we've dealt with this creature. Use your fire bomb like you first planned. Same goes for Erdathcath, withold your potion and attack the zombie first." Battle Order: Hybros fire bomb Ad-Hoh Christopher fire or holy bomb Erdathcath maybe you could use a bomb, too since you got plenty of them Eric Maurice
