  1. Eric's stomach growled as the delicious smell entered his nostrils. The Nord was hungry and Peri's encouragement only made that fact more obvious to him. "I am hungry...," Eric began to speak, "but like the Sarge says, it's probably something of the witches' doing. I don't trust the smell of good food in such a rotten place as these marshes. It's not right." The Nord contemplated the situation for a brief moment. "I am willing to check it out in a stealthy manner and not reveal our presence." He then eyed Hodurr and quickly added, "But that will most likely not be possible with him", indicating the dwarf berserker with a nod towards him.
  2. Eric smirked and simply remarked, "Welcome to my world. Let's hope these bombs of yours will do the trick." The Nord sneered slightly at the last part of his remark. He felt saddened by the loss of money and had hoped to resolve the situation without suffering significant financial loss. "Let's hope there's some stuff of value to loot in that Tower."
  3. "God damn it", Eric muttered as he gave his hard-earned coin to Althior. "This better be worth it." Periwinkle nodded in agreement and handed over her share of the gold with a pouting expression.
  4. Eric raised an eyebrow at the mage's suggestion. The Nord was well aware of Peri's profession, but he couldn't just let her stay with the dwarf as some sort of payment. She had proven to be a valuable assets to the party during the last skirmishes. On top of that, no way he would let the dwarf be with her, before Eric himself had. "That's off the table, mage", Eric said to Nur, slightly annoyed. He then turned to Dain. "Look, come with us. Like Periwinkle said, you can go out any day with a bang. You really want to go out with a bang here? In some almost god-forsaken shithole? You're Dain Almight, if you do go out, go out big. If you die, you'll be a legend. If you survive you'll be a living legend, which is good for business. It's a win-win and it sure beats staying here. This is no place for you. We'll figure out a way to pay for your services along the way."
  5. Noticing none of the other party members spoke much, Eric decided to give his silver tongue another try. "That's just the thing. We are burly and muscular, but none of us is an alchemist or knows how to work a bomb. That's why we need you. Now tell me, what will it take to get you on our side?"
  6. Frustrated with Hodurr, Eric turned to Dain and tried to salvage the situation somewhat. "How do you know what tower or building we're trying to blo...redecorate? Hell, even if it is the building you have in your head right now, what's it worth to you? It's not like you live there or anything. You're a shopkeeper, you sell stuff. Give us the information and the explosives we need and we'll speak no more of it."
  7. So, uhm, you have a thing for minifigs in uniform?
  8. Eric rolled his eyes. "I thought we brought the Dwarf with us to increase our chances with the bomb maker, not completely waste our relation with the guy."
  9. Throlar "Sherlock Holmes" Whinegelm . Too bad your Watson is technically dead, though .
  10. "Well, you're paying, so I ain't betrayin', if that makes you feel any better. I'll follow through. The Wolfpack's offer entices me." Eric tried to reassure half of the Fearsome Four. Eric snickered at the remark. Its humour was so childish and sort of innocent, he actually thought it was genuinely funny. In a rare, unstaged sudden case of what might be labeled "affection", he briefly pulled Periwinkle closer to his side as the party made their way through Port Taboo. The moment was over very quickly and the Nord got back into his usual cool and aloof posture. "Well, you are rather short, so I'm guessing that'll probably be your excuse for not noticing the sticks of dynamite over there. That's probably his shop."
  11. "I don't need your pity, woman. I don't need anyone's pity," the Nord replied annoyedly. He hated the feeling of being looked down upon and pitied by someone else. "Well then, we'll just find the answer to stop her in the Tower, before we destroy it. Ta-da, we win! We will then have both our reward for getting rid of the Tower and we'll be the only ones with the knowledge of stopping this "all-powerful" witch you are so afraid of. Knowledge which we can then also sell to the highest bidder, of course, or use for our own gain." Eric did some air-quotes to emphasize how ridiculous he found the notion of some all-powerful witch. Then again, he had barely heard of Barbaricca in his lifetime and had never met the woman. He actually had no clue what he was dealing with. "You call us greedy like it something bad. Greed is good. I'd rather be a rich, greedy bastard living the life than be a downtrodden idealist living in some god-forsaken gutter in the Hovels. I take what I want, I'm not some lowly inbred peasant without a spine to stand up for himself."
  12. I realy like these new second characters. Miderun seems like and even blunter version of Tesni
  13. Okay, thank you for your answers everyone . I'll already have some rough ideas in my head, now I'll see if I can work them out. I probably won't lead my quest in the home of the Dragons, I'm more interested in the western parts, the less mountainous lands.
  14. "Yes, but I'll be a rich and noble despicable," Eric replied in a somewhat boastful way, even though it wasn't really a fact to boast about. He waved away the importance of the Tower with his hand. To him, anything unrelated to himself, his people land or culture was not important. They say knowledge is power, but it's a hefty coinpurse that puts bread on the table in the real world. "Some dark tower in forsaken Babeleth means little to me." "Do you have a better counteroffer for us, perhaps?," the Nord cheeckily added.
  15. D'awwww, mountainous.. You sure? I was actually toying with the idea of the lands being claimed or not and maybe trying to make a quest head there, dealing with the situation and the people there. That's why I wanted to know what the situation there was like. Also, I was hoping the lands there to be more in line of the rest of Dastan, ie. plains, steppe and some mountains, not completely mountainous. Where does it say it is mountainous, did you read that in the Dastan trilogy somewhere?
  16. I was wondering, since the Wiki states that Farrech is the northernmost settlement of Dastan, is everything north of there not considered to be part of the Empire anymore? Those "horned" areas in the north of the Dastanese continent aren't claimed then, are they? Brickdoctor's map also doesn't seem to include any info for that area, so I thought I'd ask here . EDIT To make it more clear, I'm talking about the area where the words "Dastan Empire" are placed on this map, yet it doesn't really seem to be part of the empire on other maps or in the lore (as far as I know of).
  17. OoC: I think you forgot to roll for Eric? Eric, bound again, tries to reach one of his Silverfish Wings and then throws it at Woodwose. Periwinkle, unable to do any harm to the enemy, decides to sit this one out. Eric attacks Woodwose with a Diseased Silverfish Wing from the front row. Periwinkle does nothing.
  18. Yay for Team Pericwinkle . Let's hope my luck continues! Both Eric and Periwinkle repeat.
  19. Eric copies Sarge's behaviour and also sends off a piece of paper, this time with his name on it, thus participating in the raffle.
  20. "Look at us, chopping away at frigging trees and kicking birds. There's not even anything of value to gain here, we're wasting time," Eric muttered as he lunged forward to strike at the Treant. He looked over his shoulder, "You with me, Peri?" The harlot cracked her whip and nodded, following the Nord in his assault on the Treant. Both Eric and Periwinkle attacks the Treant from the front row.
  21. Can't believe it's been three years already that this exists. Thanks to everyone for playing and the QM's for churning out those awesome quests, of course!
  22. Periwinkle moaned as vines crept up from the ground and entangled her. "I like where this is going." Periwinkle does nothing. There's nothing she can do, right? Eric throws a Diseased Silverfish Wing at Treant.
  23. Both Eric and Periwinkle repeat.
  24. "Seriously? We're fighting trees now?" Eric said half-jokingly as he drew his sword. He glared at the Dwarf. "Idiot, should've left the trees alone..." Eric attacks Dryad B from the front row. - "I was going to make a joke about 'morning wood', but it's still night..." Periwinkle attacks Snowy Owl B from the front row
  25. "I'd rather get to Port Taboo sooner than later. I can do without a proper night's sleep," the Nord grinned and eyed Periwinkle, "I doubt there'd be much sleep in it for me anyway." OoC: Just a heads up, but I gave Periwinkle Eric's Leather Whip, Sandy. You forgot to add it to her equipment
