It's great to see it all come together! Nice job on the write-up. The story adds some life to the builds. Great job team and especially to you Ross, for setting it all up and doing most of the builds and work! The first build with the model is probably my favorite one. I love how you managed to capture the other builds in microscale.

[OL - ChIVB] Shrine of the Recovery, Nola Mar

Nice build! I love the overall gothic architecture and the classic slide-away sarcophagus. The ossuary look great, with the skulls and stacked bones. Clever way of building it like that and an interesting part of the MOC. -
You sure it's not the BoBS version of the dying Gaul: the dying Corrie? I like all of the artwork you made: the statues and paintings. Like Bregir said though, perhaps a bit more ornamentation would've been nice, especially considering the source material and the fact that there's no part limit in Studio . However, it's totally understandable in the wider context of time constraints. All in all, it's a lovely build and the art really takes it to another level.

Interesting architectural styles you have! I love the second building. It's something I haven't seen done a lot before. The fact that the art inside is actually your own, makes it even better. Your drawings are really impressive! -

The size of this build is amazing! There's so much going on and so many things to look at. I love the liveliness you managed to put into the whole scene, despite its large size. Personally, I would have preferred the grass to be a bit more studded instead of tiled to give it a rougher look. Very beautiful build! -

I love the classical architectural style of this! It just oozes "official" building meant to project power and wealth and inspire awe. I like the story behind it as well, with the transition from the destroyed building into the new embassy. The Poseidon decoration of the pediment is glorious as well and so befitting the faction. Truly a beautiful build with many great details to take in! The only thing that "bothers" me are the milky-white pieces. While I loved them in previous builds when you used the color for statues, here the color kind of takes me out of it. To me it looks like those are glow-in-the-dark bricks, or plastic translucent bricks and not marble. Whereas when you used it for statues, it did work as marble for me. Maybe it's because there are a lot more of those bricks in this build instead of only statues using that specific color? -
[COR-FB] Mushroom Grow House, Wullham

Like the others have said: that is an interesting wall technique. It gives a very unique texture to the walls. I also really like the landscaping. Very clean and polished. -
Lovely figures and great way of building that camera. The obelisk steals the show here for me. What an excellent piece usage there. I love seeing this modern interpretation of the Adventurers theme. I always loved that as a kid and I think I've got all of the sets. The way you build the car is inspiring and I love the design in general, even though it feels a bit too "modern" for Johny Thunder to me, but that's just my personal taste.

[COR - CH IV - CAT D] Sil Channel Crossing
Khorne replied to evancelt's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A nice addition to the other half of the collab. The water is really well done. I like how it gradually goes lighter. I also love the terrain work on the sand "breaking through" the stone wall/pier. I also liked how you not only used reddish brown for the ferry, but also added some dark red and nougat. It makes it less dull to look at, as most reddish brown-only builds can be somewhat monotonous at times. -

Khorne replied to Ross Fisher's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Like I said on Flickr: I love all the activity going on and all of the mini scenes and stories, such as the baptism and the trade happening on the ferry. Excellent figures as usual, with plenty of character oozing from each and every one of them. The ferry itself looks rugged and robust as well. Great scene! Aha, so that's what that it. I thought it was an idol or something, but more voodoo-like for sinister purposes. Is that a (really early) Greek bust? Can't quite pinpoint the style. -

As has been said: excellent details all-over. I love how you made the flower pots. Simple and effective. The lantern is also a clever tidbit. The combination of the old, yellowed bricks, the dark tan and then the white masonry bricks give it such a nice texture, yet it doesn't become too cluttered color-wise. -
[OL-FB] Crocodile Plantation - Nouveau Oleandia
Khorne replied to CapOnBOBS's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent idea and build that suits the island and colony of Nouveau Oleandia so well! The color scheme is really fitting with all the dark green and then the brown wood buildings. The guy having lost his hand is an excellent character detail! I chuckled when the audience member could barely make out what he was saying . -

[OL - CH IV - CAT B] Silhouette's Umbran Cameos
Khorne replied to Ross Fisher's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Can't you just scale it by using a raster? I used to do it that way for a mural for example. Say the original drawing the artist makes is A4, then you just draw a raster over it with squares and scale the squares for a new version. E.g; if your squares are 1x1cm, but you want it half the size you just make new squares of 0,5x0,5cm and copy the content. I think these silhouette drawings can easily be copied and scaled this way, since it's only an outline. -

An excellent build! I love the puzzle work you did to achieve the silhouette. It's really recognizable as the face of a soldier. The extra info is also appreciated. I always like learning stuff via BoBS. I hope for mr. Gallo and the Padre they will see som ROI, though. The artist looks kind of shady, with his disheveled outfit and unkempt beard . Hippy! -

Thanks Bregir! I've had the day off yesterday, so I started building on a project I've been wanting to do for some time now. New work is coming! And yes: this time it'll be more than just a facade build . -

Thanks! I've used the figures several times before. It's kind of the "uniform" of the group. The photography tip is welcome! I used a black sheet of paper in some of my other builds, but as you can obviously see: I didn't use it here. Having something to block the light would've certainly helped the photography. I'll keep it in mind for the next time. That's a beautiful scene and photography, by the way. You really did the source artwork justice and captured its essence. -
Beautiful build and very insightful write-up that goes along with it. I liked reading the design and thought process behind some choices or pieces. Really interesting! My favorite part is Nightcrawler's smoke effect. It's so "simple", yet so effective and immediately recognizable. The "downside" of lacking all pieces in trans-purple is actually a strength, I think. The addition of the blue makes it visually more interesting and makes it stand out more.

That throne is gorgeous! Great use of the wings and all of the small gold pieces. Congrats to all involved!

What a great way to show the progression of your character. For 1 hour build, the book is really well-done. Very clean build! If you had more time, perhaps you could've recessed the small build into the page of the book if it's technically possible? That way it would seem even more like one of those 3D books with images that pop up if you turn the pages; there would literally be more connection between the two pieces (book and small build). Great concept!

I photoshopped the 'Leclerc' sign and the graffiti as @evancelt already pointed out. I actually didn't really have Allo, Allo in mind but it's a nice coincidence . I just picked the first French surname that came to mind. Thanks! I'll try and build something bigger next year. -
The wind played in the red pennants and flags accompanying the makeshift stage that was put up in front of one of the dockside warehouses in Granoléon. Although a bit colder than was usually the case in early May, there were still plenty of people about and soon a small crowd started to gather, eager to hear a militant of the Society of Héracles speak. Young Magnus kept an eye out for danger, in case members of the law enforcement or staunch royalists and anti-equalists showed up. "Camérades! Remember the First of May when mighty Heracles the royal Nemean Lion did slay!", the speaker's voice boomed through the loud hailer, drowning out the noise of the crashing waves. "Heracles the Strong, tricked by the cunning gods and the system, slew the mighty beast with his bare hands and defied the odds. An everyman who rose above himself and became a hero." "Remember his deeds, friends, for we still live in perilous and treacherous times. Even now the system preys upon the common folk and seeks to take the fruits of your labor. Remember Heracles and rise up above yourselves too! We can all be heroes and together we have the legendary strength of mighty Heracles and can the defy the odds ourselves." "Remember Heracles! Remember those who fell in the Kingsport meat grinder for naught but the folly of the King and his politicians! Remember our fellow workers who break their backs on the fields and toil in the factories, only for the rich to become even more rich! We did not want war in Terraversa, it was forced on us! We, the people, bled and died for the glory and the gains of the few. No pay check shall increase, because of the territorial gains made in faraway Terraversa. Nor will the prices of food drop or the work hours shorten. The death of our countrymen will not have enabled mass public education for the working classes. They'd rather keep us dumb, so the fairy tales of the Faith can keep us in line!" "Remember the victims of Terraversa and do not forget who sent them to the slaughter house in vain in this gigantic waste of public money!" The militant paused as the people got riled up. He smirked and took up the loud hailer once more. He gestured towards the bread being given out. "Friends, we will look after you: the Society of Héracles. We will defend your rights, always!" "Let us celebrate this First of May: our feast. YOUR feast!" The speaker raised his fist and shouted: "Hail thee, laborers of the world!" Celebratory shouts erupted from the small crowd, with many echoing the speaker's last words. Police reports state that multiple of these events took place all over the docking district of Granoléon and some other neighborhoods known to house those of lower class. All rallies happened without further incidents, but the general consensus is that this organization should be nipped in the bud before it turns into something larger. --- It's a really simple build, but I made it more for story purposes than an actual complicated MOC. I had wanted to build something for Labor Day last year, but was too late, so I tried again this year and now I'm only a day late . I had wanted to make something larger and even include a response MOC from the law enforcement, but didn't get around to do it. I really wanted something published this year, which I why I settled on a simple build in the end. I know Heracles/Hercules isn't really an everyman, but it just fits their rhetoric to portray him as such. They wouldn't be a radical political organization if they didn't bend the truth somewhat to fit their views, now would they?
-
Lovely little build! It looks so exotic! The bright light orange and the trees make the MOC truly pop. As usual, it's very clean and finished. The only thing I can say (to nitpick), would be that I would've built the door of the oven in a different color. Perhaps dark grey or black to show that it's heavy iron? Right now it looks like a stone door on hinges, but I think ovens don't have stone doors? I could be wrong though.

Wow, very nice build! I love the rough edge of rocks by building most of it studs-out. Like I mentioned in most of Evancelt's topics: I really like that splash of lavender throughout the rocks. It gives everything a unique look.

Yeah, you'd definitely have plenty of space then. But then, you'd also lose what kind of makes this building stand out. I like the 4 wings.
