Great to see another free-build - keep it up Kaliphlin! Here's another one from me:

Down in a dusty by-lane in Petraea hides Scripto the Dwarf's workshop, filled with all kinds of scraps and elaborately carved and molded designs! Scripto's assistant, busy learning the tricks of the trade. A commission from a wealthy citizen, this ivory inlaid pillar has some elaborate flower designs carved on it. This was going to be a shop interior... but it soon started to look more like a workshop... anyway I hope you enjoy it! I used Z's tips for the photography, feedback on that is welcome!

Nice job, the sort of run-down bridge looks great as does the fig and horse posing!

Nice little MOC there, your interiors are getting better!

Ah, yes, told you I remembered something! I think the idea of a MOC off during the summer is a good one - we'll need something to keep us going until whenever we have "Book II" set up!

If I remember correctly, SS (mind the abbreviation?) already joined Kaliphlin (quite the proper choice as you say), though I'm not sure if you actually posted a picture of your sig? Anyways, until the end of June, free-builds will earn your guild points (not too many it seems, but every little build helps) besides (hopefully) being fun for you!

Most of your questions seem to have been answered there fairly well, I don't think Mitgardia has a too detailed up to date map, but it doesn't really matter as most Mitgardian's don't really claim that much land (just give a general direction... you know, over the next big mountain...), but here's a map of all Historica, with the major locations. Yooha - Too many Mitgardians now! I'm not sure if LDD is really allowed for free-builds (ZC could help you on that probably), it's not done too often (I don't think I've ever seen a build topic with LDD), and seeing you build with real bricks would be preferable, (do keep in mind it doesn't have to be too big), but welcome to GoH!

Thanks... yes I took it outside. I assume you mean shade? I have found that for larger builds shade doesn't always work well (possibly because of the camera/fact that I don't use a tripod), and my camera set up is in a spot where there's sun most of the day, but have a piece of cardboard sounds like a good idea (I once tried it with a blanket... it kept blowing away!). Now I just have to find a volunteer...

Hehe... well, chances are I wouldn't have joined Avalonia anyways, but that wrote it off my list right away. You guys are making me wish I knew more about photography before I got my camera... I find it works well (I don't even bother to shoot with a tripod...), but I do have trouble with the flash sometimes. In general I find close-up shots turn out best in shade or even cloud cover, but overall shots are better in sun (they need brighter light) even if there are shadows.

All you need to do is create a sig-fig (minifigure representation of your character) and post it (with perhaps a short background story). If you haven't already, I'd encourage you to check out the first post in all the guild topics, as well as the Introduction and Questions thread (though the first post there is old; we're done with the 6th challenge now). Naturally, you should join Kaliphlin instead of Mitgardia though...

Aw well, welcome anyways even though you picked the wrong guild... actually I think the Avalonia is full thing is old... they should really take it down... it kept me away! (I don't remember seeing a photography tutorial - except in the RA - though).

Thanks Ska and Kristel! Thanks! It's something like this (and you did join at a confusing time): The four guilds were united under a common king. However, his throne was usurped by Victor Revolword and his army known as the hand of Corruption. So, until just recently, all four (really five, if you include Valaryio) were united against him. The last challenge was to end the Revolword saga, so depending on who wins, we'll know the next part of the story. Most likely Revolword will be at least temporarily gone. For now at least, the guilds are cooperative (though there's some banter occasionally and a bit of army showing-off), and even if they weren't you're always free to comment on what ever you like! Thanks, yes, that was the idea... I used not to pay attention to things like that... but now I'll have to bricklink a black one of those 'wigs' I guess... I'm glad you like the roof. Unfortunately I didn't have enough clip pieces to finish the street off, but it did turn out fairly well anyways!

Thanks! Good question; I totally forgot about that... let's say Eastgate? (Quaker is a good idea, only I don't think Ageven would go all the way there just for a wig...) And to clarify, I meant the utensil was the wig powderer... not the fig which was one of the last additions! Oh... well... I just decided to throw that in there. Might repent of it one day! Thanks!
