Good work here as always ME, although I am struggling not to see all these walls as mile high FP fortresses, hahaha.- 16 replies

Kai NRG replied to Jacob Nion's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very nice work here Jacob, your builds are getting better and better! I really like the tower, but what really stands out to me is the rounded terrace... fantastic work! -

Excellent MOC here frumpy! The house looks really good, especially that roof! The low stone wall is also very nice! +1 for the UoP credits!

This really harks back to Eryn's work, the flags especially nail it! The arched entrance is also very well done and I like the bustling feel!

[WZ12:H12 | Ulandus] Occupying a Fishing Village

Definitely one of your best builds Goliath, the green under the water gives it a really nice effect! Also nice little outpost! -
Whoops, somehow it ended up private. Fixed! Thanks!

[WZ15: E12, HC] Amrakect Bloodbath
Kai NRG replied to Jakorin Swiftsword's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very nice job here Jakorin! The wall texture is great and while the roof strikes me as a little strange for the top of a gate, it looks pretty good nonetheless! -

[CG:K15, U vs. DK] After the Bacon and Hamburgers, the Marshmellows
Kai NRG replied to Kai NRG's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks Andrew! -
The bright colors of that blue house are really nice! I also really like the fountain and the little bit of extra with the inclusion of a wheel that actually works! The interiors and rooftops also look great!

Thanks guys! It would appear Porky was rather popular! Glad someone mentioned him, it took quite a while to get all the different parts to attach! Thanks!

No counters for me this week! Hurrah!

Very nice concept here Garmadon, and impressive army there! Fun? If it were me, I would have said painful. You need to get into Ninjago! They're plentiful as bananas there! Both Garmadon and Samurai X used the helmets; Samurai with the bucket handle.

From left to right: Pete the Pirate "And if nothing else works, just turn it upside down and bang it on the rail once or twice." Just your average, ordinary, classic pirate who made the mistake of stepping through a golden portal. It took him a while to get used to all the new techie stuff, but now he's pretty sure he has a handle on it. Still, his commanding officer is careful to keep him far away from any buttons. Porky Pirate "Who said bacon? I'll fry theirs! Oink, oink!" Porky pirate is very touchy on the subject of bacon, ham, pepperoni, and all thinks pork. No one really knows why, but it's been rumored that he once belonged to an Irish farmer who constantly threatened to have him butchered if he didn't keep out of the house. But Porky never alludes to his past, so that's probably just speculation. All anyone knows for sure is that if you say anything remotely close to bacon, Porky will be right behind you with those lasers! One Eyed Rose "The galaxy needs more orange. I'm happy to oblige." A vicious piratess, One Eyed Rose is out there for nothing more than treasure and adventure. Don't get between her and the X on the map, or you might just get a taste of her favorite Orange Ultrasonic Dart Launcher, better known as the Oudel! Imperial Soldier of the Galaxy "The government really needs to step up its defenses! I'm telling you, these pirates outnumber us six to one!" The Imperial Soldier is constantly exasperated by the government's incompetency. He's always expected to be on the move, chasing one pirate or another. Most of the time, he lands his man, but somehow Captain Blackmustache has evaded him every time. In fact, he was sure he was close once or twice, but then he was called off to corner someone else! He's determined to catch the famous Captain though, if it's the last thing he does! Jake the Barrel Boy "Food fight! Water war! Banana battle! ...no sir, I'm sorry, I forgot you had asked for your breakfast." Once upon a time, Jake was just an average schoolboy, but he craved adventure and soon tired of life within four walls. So he ran off to join a pirate crew, where he soon became known for daring pranks and mischievous sallies. He may not be much good at keeping the Captain's cabin clean, but he sure does keep the crew in a good humor! Except for Porky, that is. There's war on sight between them. Jake just eats too much bacon! Santiago De Romero aka Captain Blackmustache "Hoist all sail me hearties! Yes, yes, I know. Consider it code for, extend all solar arms." Captain Blackmustache may have lost his arm and leg, but that doesn't mean he's not a force to be reckoned with! He knows every nook and cranny of his corner of the galaxy and has led the Imperial Soldier on many a merry chase! Speaking of merry chases, Jake the Barrel Boy has led him on many a not so merry chase for his breakfast! Well, these guys were pretty fun! C&C welcome! Thanks for taking a look!

Fantastic work here, the panels are really eye catching and all the curves are very smooth and well executed. Maybe my favorite detail is the back booster section - the shape and colors there are just perfect!

Book II, Chal IV - Kaliphlin Civil War (Results Posted)
Kai NRG replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
I was able to build multiples because between all the guerrillas done against us, we had more than our quota of 7 a week. When a team has more guerrillas against it than it's members divided by two, any member may build as many counters as he/she desires.- 272 replies

The sedan chair is fantastic, as are the domes despite all the studs. Good work on the doors as well!

Book II, Chal IV - Kaliphlin Civil War (Results Posted)
Kai NRG replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
I agree with Garmadon's suggestions. Personally, I don't build guerrillas instead of warzones just because they're worth more points. (To be sure, of course, I've built both ever since the beginning, but anyway.) I find guerrillas harder to build actually because you have to come up with the concept from start to finish. And I may remark that I did not go on a countering spree primarily for points, but rather for my team. (Though as I'm loosing most of them I suppose my team hasn't benefited a whole lot! haha, and I can see why those who picked the wrong team didn't get the opportunity to counter like crazy could be a bit miffed, at least if they were loosing in personal points by that margin.) Of course personal points are a nice bonus but I don't think we're even competing for a physical prize anyway (though I could be wrong), just bragging rights, and moreover, the person with the most points is not the ipso facto winner; I would imagine build quality will be taken into account as well. Up until just this week I think very few of my builds sacrificed quantity for time in any way; it's just my last two (GA and CG) that I do think may have to a certain extent. This week however, I should be able to pick it back up because, thankfully, there are no guerrillas against us for once! While we're listing complaints, I'm not super thrilled with the way the DK is set to win an overwhelming victory in a few of these latest WZs just because in sheer numbers of builds they have more than both the other two teams. In build quality IMHO, at least in the case of WZ13, they don't deserve an overwhelming victory. A victory maybe, but not overwhelming. BTW, in a two way battle, if one team has double the amount of builds as the other team has, do they get an overwhelming victory? On the side, I can see why some of those who have less time aren't super happy with the way this challenge is set up. But for those of us who have more time but less bricks, these small vig-size builds are very nice, because they actually give us a shot at winning - something I've never really had before for a GoH challenge, particularly the larger ones!- 272 replies
