Location: E02 (M.A.N.T.I.S. command ship, Jurin II orbit). Our forces are successfully driving Octan from the planet, but the moon is too heavily fortified. It’s going to take forever to get rid of them. Time is money, Steve. You need to find a way. Quickly. Y’know… I think with some small adjustments my new M.A.N.T.I.S.TM Doom Ray© could probably destroy a small moon… Absolutely not. That would be a PR nightmare. There’s no way we could get away with blowing up a moon full of Octan personnel, tempting though it is. What if it was an ‘accident’? We’d need someone incredibly gullible to pull that off. Hmmm… I had a meeting with HR earlier. There’s a certain pilot. We were going to have him ‘reassigned’ to Project Lambda, but I think he might be perfect for this… Later, on Jurin II: Ok, since your piloting license have been stripped due to "resounding incompetence", you've been assigned to a simple driving mission. Sigh, ok.. What should I do? Just drive this truck down from here, the main base on Jurin II, to the outpost in sector 4. What? This thing? What is it, a laser cement mixer? No, it's a M.A.N.T.I.S.TM Doom Ray© truck. It's a super powerful weapon, that's why it's needed in the outpost. Still looks like a cement mixer to me. Well, since you're surely not firing it, it may well be. Now move on! Yes sir! What is this button over here? Don't touch any button! I bet it will start mixing cement! Click! No! You armed the Doom Ray©! Ok ok, I'm closing it.. maybe it's this other button? Aaaahhh! Stop pushing buttons! In orbit: I’m just saying, when I was CEO, I didn’t flounce around wearing a cape and ribbons. You were only CEO because of a software bug! I don’t see how that’s relevant… Er, Sal? Yes? I assume you somehow fixed it so the Doom Ray© could only target the moon? Um… yeah… totally… why? Because it looks a lot like it’s pointed at us… ... ... ... I can see it, but it comes with all the Jan 16 events too.

MANTIS only needed one point last week, but Hawk and Isundir's builds both counted on C06 this week because I didn't realise Isundir wanted to move his build when I entered it into the scoring sheet So everything is correct as far as I can tell except that Isundir's build was on the wrong planet. Hopefully Bob can fix that.

Ah, in that case, no. Weekly builds should stay in the main timeline. It's OK to do free builds in an alternate timeline if you want, though probably best to explain what's going on at the start of the post so no one gets confused.

Sorry if I've misunderstood again, but you want to make a new build (not based on a previous build) as your challenge entry and then remake it as a weekly build afterwards for points? No, you can't do that. The whole point of the competition is that you remake a previous build from another player (Cat A) or yourself (Cat B). And just to define some terms: a free build is a build that won't be judged or scored. A weekly build is a build that is judged and scores points.

So you want to do a free build as if you joined Octan, and not use it as your competition entry? I can't see any reason why not.

Ah, ok. When it says interiors and spaceship interiors it means something like this: The idea is that you can show a room or corridor etc. and count that as a building, even if it's supposed to be part of a large spaceship. It isn't supposed to mean that any vehicle with an interior also counts as a building. However, in this case if you'd built the same cabin and crane on a baseplate instead of a boat, I definitely would have given it the 'Building' tag! So I guess it's ok Tags: Water Vehicle, Building

Is this a Land Vehicle or an Air Vehicle? If it can fly, it's an Air Vehicle, but if it just hovers slightly above the ground/water it's a Land Vehicle.
