I'm happy with Mars Mission continuing into 2009. But I would like to see a new space theme start after that, something more akin to what Lego did with Star Justice and Space Skulls.

The support you guys give is unbelievable. Thanks so much! I'm glad readers are picking up on the small details, as well, as I do put thought into the small things and continuity. Both Schwartz and Valkyrie identifying with the Black Knight was a definite clue that they may have some things in common. Another one I'm not sure people noticed: When Schwartz and Galanos are standing outside the theater in a crowd of people, the Mars Mission astronaut and his mining robot that were featured in the second comic I ever did were there, and the xenophobic astronaut was staring suspiciously at the Martian next to him in line. BTW, I'll have to create a small link banner. I think what I'm gonna do is use a picture of the Classic Space logo, but replace the ship flying around the planet with the Gamma V Laser Craft. And I'll have a close-up of Schwartz next to it.

I don't like that they're using a new helmet on the Classic Spaceman, but it's still cool to have minty new red torsos with fresh gold logos! Isn't the red astronaut the rarest of the Classic astronauts?

Wow, I get all down in the dumps 'cos I get very few comments, then suddenly I get a flood. Thanks, guys! :)

Hinckley, I'd be honored to have you link to my site. (And it would likely help me find readers, which would be appreciated.) You make great comics and MOCs! I'm glad you like my comics. There's a bunch of ongoing storylines that feature the two main characters (Schwartz and Galanos) that are attending the movie premiere. Yeah, it certainly is difficult to coax expressions out of classic Lego guys. I really try to get the right pose and use the dialog to convey the emotions. WhiteFang, I am a nerdy fan of many things, as evidenced by the Indy, Doctor Who, Batman, Highlander and Star Wars references showing up all in one comic. I don't usually do that, but figured a comic taking place at a movie premiere in Hollywood was the time to let loose, lol.

Thanks, Batbrick, I'm glad you're still enjoying it. My readership has had a sharp decline in the last week or so, by about half, according to the counter on the page, and I've gotten less comments all around. So I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong. Your comments are appreciated as always. I just watched all three Indy movies again in preparation for the new one, too. I hadn't seen Temple and Last Crusade in a long time and was surprised that I had forgotten a lot about them. And I realized there were subtleties I had missed when I last saw them in full as a kid. In a way it was like seeing them for the first time, so that was cool. On a related note, I was in a Target store and saw the new Indiana Jones trading cards. I was lured in by the prospect of getting randomly inserted autograph cards and purchased five packs. While I didn't get any autographs, I got some foil cards and all the cards looked great. But I quickly realized that the cards gave away A LOT from the new movie and I just breezed through them as fast as possible looking for autographs. I'll look at them again after I see the film. I was surprised since the cards were advertised like they covered all four movies, but they appear to be exclusive to Crystal Skull. BTW, the next comic will explain more about the Indiana Jones movies still being around in the far future.

I don't know how many of you have seen my Lego: Space comic before, but this week's storyline is Indiana Jones-heavy. It's to celebrate the new movie, of course. The first of three comics is up; the second will go up on Tuesday and the third will go up on Thursday, the day the film comes out. Enjoy! A new comic is up, and it's the start of that surprise I was telling you about last week. After too long a wait, Indy IV hits theaters this week! I was compelled to celebrate the occasion and decided to look ahead to another Indy premiere far, far ahead in the future and in the universe of Lego: Space. Indy fans should recognize the tips of the hat I've made to the movies, such as in the very first panel. And I couldn't do without a few obscure Doctor Who and Highlander references, to boot! This storyline will consist of a trilogy of comic strips, concluding on May 22, the release date for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! Prototypical (Part 3) is up: http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=399709 The first two comics in this storyline were mainly set-up for the final comic. Next week, I've got a special surprise for you. It starts Sunday...

Weird, I didn't even catch that it was blurry until after I had posted the comic. I'll try to not let those shots slip though.

Thanks, Clonecommando! I plan to keep going. :)

Part 2 of "Prototypical" just went live: http://drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=399647

No, he thinks about women, too.

Lego hasn't approved it yet, but I'll post the link here when they do. I can also post a link for a version with less stickers applied, so it cuts down the price (although you'll still get enough sticker sheets.)

Thanks! I'm glad you think it fits in with Star Justice, since that's the point of the contest. There are some more views of the prison cell of you click on the link to the gallery. The cockpit was available in Lego Digital Designer, as all the pieces had to be.

I posted an earlier version of this model before shown through screencaps from LDD, but after I ordered the parts from Factory, I discovered that there were some problems with the construction. In the course of fixing those, I redesigned the ship to be more streamlined. I assure you that the actual model is true to what's available on LDD. I checked to make sure that every part I added to the actual model could also be done within LDD. In any case, you can see more pix, both from life and of the ship in LDD, here: http://www.detectivefork.com/peacemaker.html

Yeah, kinda the (twisted) Lego:Space version of the holographic game in the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars.
-
Thanks again, Batbrick. I do like having what amounts to a bonus comic going on in the background, even if people don't realize it right away. Notice also how the cat steals Schwartz' chair as soon as he gets up. As for Star Justice, funny you should ask...
