  1. LOL, Lego might object...
  2. Lego generally argues that the United States is a more competitive market, hence the lower prices than the rest of the world.
  3. I totally agree. I recently ripped open a boxed Blacktron II Alpha Centauri Outpost because I wanted to build the set, not just stare at the box! I love this little set, btw. It's a cool-looking little scooter, one of the better Space impulse sets.
  4. Funny you call them "one," since they sort of are. :-)
  5. On another note, Lego: Space will reach 100 comics in a couple of months. My 50th comic wasn't a big deal, even though it had a party theme, and some readers indicated they would have liked something more special. At the rate I'm going, I think the 100th comic is going to happen somewhere in the story where you FINALLY get to see Schwartz's date with Valkyrie. (The week since they made the date at the Indiana Jones premiere has gone real slow!) But then it would be just another comic. What I could do is hold off that story just a little and do something special for the 100th comic (and maybe the comics immediately before and after it). So, if you have any suggestions, I'd like to hear them. It can be a story you want to see, something that breaks the fourth wall, something more informational about the comic, whatever. I'm open to suggestions.
  6. Thanks, Batbrick! As for the lighting, this was shot using the television as a backdrop, and I guess it functions as an even better light source. The TV can be more of an undertaking to use, which is why I normally only use it with Lego sets that are too big for the laptop screen, basically any bases or large ships.
  7. Looking at this set makes me want to see a chess set based on Lego's Space themes. One one side could be the Space Agency, including Classic, Futuron and the Space Police. Instead of knights on horses, there could be astronauts on little ships. The mini-bases on the side of the board could be a Space Agency HQ and a Space Police lock-up. The other side could be Blacktron, perhaps teamed up with UFO or the Insectoids. If somebody is inspired by this idea, please take it. :-)
  8. Old Friends (Part 3): http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=444372 To answer your question, Batbrick, yes, it is taking longer than I originally thought to tell the story. I originally estimated that the first "season" of stories would be done in 100 comics. Wrong! But a lot of ideas came up along the way that I thought were cool or funny and I don't mind that this is taking longer.
  9. Yay, we finally get a hot witch!
  10. Ohhh, okay, cool! Any idea when these go on sale? I can't believe Lego never made a jester before and I can't wait to get it and the rest of that set.
  11. I'm sorry if this question was answered somewhere in the last 100 pages, but is the Advent calendar still coming out? Do we know when?
  12. This set is super deluxe! Lego outdid themselves! Thanks, WhiteFang, for the great, detailed review. I'm jealous of you. :-) As for the Lego Castle Advent set, I saw the pictures of this earlier this year and can't wait for it. But the Lego booth at San Diego Comic Com showed a City Advent set for 2008. Does this mean the Castle set got dropped? I sure hope not, as it has some new minifigs, including a peasant girl and even a jester! The City set looks blah. EDIT: I was mistaken in that the City set was shown as SDCC. It was Toyfare I was thinking of, which was earlier in the year, so maybe it was just a previous set they were showing.
  13. I had to fix the comic. Here's the new link for Old Friends (Part 2): http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=444343
  14. Old Friends (Part 2) is now up: http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=444095
  15. Old Friends (Part 1) is up: http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=442883
  16. You must be catching on to my strange ways. :skull:
  17. You'll find out shortly. If it sounds like I'm being evasive, I'm just not sure how to describe the next story.
  18. The final part of Blank Attack is up: http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=442294
  19. Wearing a cape, hat and bandanna and nothing else makes it creepier! *GASP*
  20. LOL, I don't know what's going on there!
  21. I wonder why this set had no blue or black astronauts? Whatever the case, I always loved the small minifig sets that Lego released, as I could never get enough astronauts. My favorite was the set of Futuron astronauts. Why would the yellow astronauts freak you out, Sinner? Is it because they look nekkid? ;-)
  22. Yeah, I noticed I did that after it was too late to edit. But I hope you can see from my comics that my spelling is normally gud.
  23. Here, here! And that's coming from the Star Wars moderator. :-)
  24. I said the "Screwed" line the other day while talking to a co-worker and immediately thought it would have to be used in the comic somewhere. I definitely want that set, but it'll have to be a frivolous purchase for some other time.
  25. LOL, that was the idea. :)
