  1. At the moment I am working on my GG and I was able to find 300-400 parts for both the MS and CC from my own supply I already had on hand. Also from time to time I do find parts I need from the PAB wall at my local store.
  2. Right now the remaining 13 lots that I need are actually available on BnP. I just need to get the $54 to make that final order. If I try to do it via BL at this point it will cost me a bit more than that as I have compared the prices of the remaining parts and add in the cost of shipping from 2-4 more stores.
  3. received a package today of about 200 parts. If it wasn't for a package somehow finding its way to Billings, Montana I would be getting another 2 tomorrow. Now it will be 1 tomorrow, at least 2 by Friday and another one on Saturday or Monday. I have one that I have paid for but the person is taking their time packaging it and getting it shipped. I am starting to think PAB orders from LEGO.com is not worth the hassle because 2/3 of the PAB orders I have done over the last 2 years have taken over a month to ship to me. Almost worth BL'ing as much as possible and using BnP for the rest as they get shipped from the USA.
  4. I also tend to throw things into a pile and dig through it to find my parts. I have tried keeping them in the bags LEGO packs things into but I find that to be annoying and prefer all in one group. Though I won't recommend watching a ADHD 4 year old that thinks that breaking stuff is fun like my wife did. The little bastard destroyed both my FB and Emporium and scattered the parts all over my room, hallway and living area. Lets just say I was not pleased when I came home from work that day. I was fortunate to be able to find all of the Emporium and all but about 5-7 pieces of the FB, which I used the BnP to get replaced. At one point my wife was willing for me to go to the LEGO store and just re-buy them since she thought it was a lost cause at the time. Took me a couple weeks here and there after work digging through the massive pile of 5000 bricks. Some parts were still missing after but over time I found most of the remaining parts as some were between the bed or found there way under the couch and edges of walls. Also, another day with nothing in the mail. But by some of the tracking information on at least 2 orders I should be getting some in tomorrow.
  5. I would love to add this to my modular set. Such a sexy building.
  6. Love the stone pathway with the 1x1 and 2x2 round plates and using the tan bush upside down for the palm tree is well done.
  7. ^^ A month and still nothing. You need to contact LEGO customer service. They are great to work with and they will either help to track it down or resend your order with a faster delivery. What is great about them sending another one is if the first one "does" end up being delivered you get to keep it. A set I purchased to get up to $75 for the holiday box was the bank/Sheriff Lone Ranger set and as I was building it I noticed there was a tone of parts I could use for the GG. I never got around to building the sheriff part as I ended up cannibalizing the set for parts. I am thinking of selling the minifigs in time as the prices on them go up now that the sets have been discontinued.
  8. Ran down to the mail box today hoping for a present to be there and nothing. Argg, I want to finish building my GG. What I really want to get in is the PAB order I did 2 weeks ago to come in as that has some key parts to be able to continue building it higher than 2 bricks high. I am sure that if I am able to at least build it a few layers higher it will get me my fix for a couple days. Problem is the PAB order shows being shipped but there hasn't been any movement on the tracking site. Just shows being tendered on the 11th at 6:11AM and no movement since. Going to wait out 22-23 days after being tendered and call LEGO's customer service and have them resend the order if it doesn't show by then. The BL orders I did at the end of last week and over the weekend are mostly showing as shipped today with 2 hold outs.
  9. This is freaking awesome!! Great job and I have loved your designs since I saw your pumpkin house 2 years ago.
  10. Down to only 11 lots to go for everything for my GG. Waiting on the 1x2 Sand Green with slot in the middle coming from Denmark and 7 other packages that most of them should be coming sometime this week. I plan on getting the remainder from BnP, as I won't have to pay for multiple shippings as those last 11 lots can't be purchased from a single seller. For the most part I have stayed true to parts and colors with very few variations. Once completed you will notice I have gone with a Dark Red instead of the Dark Blue for the awning over the windows of the first floor. Much cheaper part and a lot easier to get.
  11. Yes, I did use a 32x32 base plate, mainly because I only had to buy one part and didn't see the reason why it was 2 pieces in the first place. Another thing is don't buy 1X8 Sand Green bricks, break them up into 50 1X2's and 50 1X6's and it comes out much cheaper. You will end up paying between .60 to .90 for the equivalent of the 1X8 that costs over $3. Huge savings. I would recommend checking out Emperors Palace and 4 Fun Bricks & More as they both have a good selection for the GG and they are family in the same town and have started sharing shipping. So you buy from both make sure in the comments they know you did that and it will all be shipped out in one package. Save a few $$ in shipping that way. I did 2 orders from Emperors Palace and received the first one yesterday and they were excellent parts and packaged very well. They also do 2 day shipping with the USPS so you don't have to wait long to get your package. At the moment I have about 23 lots left to order but those will have to wait a few more weeks or my wife is going to kill me since I have already spent $210 on BL in the past week. It's about 200 pieces left out of the 23 lots.
  12. Received my larger order in today of 435 pieces for a grand total of 1742/2385. Still missing enough parts to the point I can't build much past 1-2 layers. If all goes well, I should have the needed parts in next week to get it up a few layers before I hit another road block. Here is a photo of what it currently looks like. I have a PAB order of 204 parts that has the remaining 2x2 tiles for the floors and some other pieces. Those of you who are familiar with this build will notice a few color changes to a few pieces that are hidden or colors close enough that I personally didn't care. Also cheaper to go with those changes than to ordering them on BL. So far only 4 BL and 2 PAB orders to get it to close to 2100 pieces.
  13. Here is my collection so far. As you can see I have the GG under construction and I am building it higher as I get more parts.
  14. I didn't say I didn't buy anything. I was actually there to pick up a gift for a party that my 7 year old daughter is going to for today. I picked up the 70805 Trash Chomper from the LEGO Movie for the kid.
  15. Went to the one here today and there wasn't anything new or interesting so no cup. The wall was at least full for once.
  16. I was about to start a new thread so we can showcase our modulars but decided to dig around and see if anything like that had already been done. Had to go 8 pages to find it. It is late here and I will take a picture of mine that I keep in my closet away from sun light. I currently only have 4 sets. Though I am working on my GG, MS and CC via BL, PAB and BnP. Once I get all my BL orders in I should have over 3/4 of the needed parts for the GG. The only parts I have for the CC and MS are ones I dug up from parts I already had. Because I am building the GG, CC and MS I won't be getting the PR and CP anytime soon, but should have plenty of time to get them since neither of them are anymore than a year old. These sets are so cool and I had been looking online for pictures of sets with all 9 in them and couldn't find any. Look forward to more of these sets but just not sure where I am going to put them. Once I get the remaining 5 I will not have room in my closet anymore and I will be taking up the top shelf of the closet on my wife's side.
  17. Not really. Lately the local store hasn't had much of anything on the wall, with all the holiday boxes being filled. with a lackluster PAB wall the past few months has kept me from buying a cup a few times.
  18. My store is 10 minutes away and I get the shakes on a daily basis.
  19. with you talking about your 1x8 light blay plates reminded me of when I ordered them 2 years ago when I first started to gather up the parts for the GG. I put in an order with the online PAB and they hadn't shown up after 20 days from when they first said they were shipped. Called up the customer service and told them I hadn't even seen the tracking info come in to the USA yet. The lady on the phone said most likely they had gotten lost or stuck in Customs, but to make sure she put in a rush order for the same parts. I received them 4-5 days later and then about a week after that the original order came in. I was told I did not need to send back any of it so I ended up with enough spares of those parts for my MS and a few left over for my CC. Ever since there is a small part of me that wishes that can happen again.
  20. I would say go for buying this set. It is one of the most beautiful modulars Lego has released so far, and the internal design is the best yet out of all of them. If it wasn't for the fact my money is currently going to the 3 modulars that were discontinued before I knew about them, I would be getting this and then the Theater after. I have been digging through my lego's the past week and have set aside parts for the GG, CC and MS. Started to order parts off BL last Friday for the remaining GG parts I did not have on hand.
  21. Use a tripod. Nothing worse than getting sea sick watching a youtube video with a constantly moving camera.
  22. I have a limited amount of cash I have to use at the moment for purchasing the needed parts for my GG, MS and CC. But I did manage to order from the guy in Denmark that sells the 1x2 Sand Green brick with groove for $0.90 each and 17 other lots he had that I needed, for a total of 131 parts. I also happened to find the 1x2 Medium Blue and Dark Blay bricks at my local Lego Store today. My build is coming along slowly but in time I will have my 3 remaining modular buildings I don't have. Current progress GG 1242/2335 MS 333/1236 CC 50/2040 I am sure I have more for the CC available but I have not gone through my Lego supply to see what I have for it.
  23. I started building my GG from parts about 2 years ago and was able to scrounge up about 1000 parts from sets I already had. Then I moved into my moms basement and it was shelved for a couple years. I have now moved out and have space to display my modulars again and have started picking up pieces again. So far I have done a $35 PAB order that I used a $25 VIP points on to get with 204 pieces in that order. I am now currently pricing parts on BL and when I saw the prices on some of the Sand Green bricks I was horrified. My wife was like hell no your not spending that much money for 50 pieces. After seeing the prices on the Sand Green bricks I decided to look into what others did to get around different issues with their builds and found this thread. This has given me hope once again on knowing my wife will give into me spending $$$ on my LEGO addiction. I had also started going through my lego's for a MS since it would be relatively easy to build since its only a bit over 1200 parts. I have been able to locate about 280 parts that I already had so 1000 to go to complete that. I loved the idea Sin had for using masonry bricks for 1x2 brick replacements and the change of the balcony's on the MS and I plan on using them as well on mine. I plan on changing the look of the alley way to better match the GG as to extend the outdoor market with more baskets to put produce in and maybe make the top part into a nice patio space for either the GG or MS living space. I also think I will use some of the new flower pots that showed up in the PR and replace those hideous yellow 2x2 round bricks currently being used on the MS. Once finished with the GG and MS I will begin working on the CC and do a better job at designing the insides of these 3 Modulars. Sin, any chances of me getting ahold of your LLD changes to your CC and MS?
  24. I remember when you first posted this and also put it up on cuusoo. Love this and hope one day to build it. Love the working elevator and the great colors used in this MOC. Currently putting together pieces for the Green Grocer at the moment so it will be a bit before I get around to it.
  25. I know we just got our first store here in the Salt Lake City, Utah area but I am looking forward to seeing another one announce in the next year. The store here has done very well so far.
