I sincerely hope you prior me wrong. But my guess is when the climb is more then 45 degrees it will stay down by lack of power or cracking joints. And i mean on a surface that delivers enough grip. Butt i hope i am wrong. I really like your bodywork. Do you mind if i copy for my 8*8*8 ? Greetings Johnny -

This looks like a real beast. But i think that when it Meets a steep hill it wil stay down. All the weight will come down on the two rear wheels and 2 xl's are not enough to push it up the hill with a ratio off 1/3. So for real truck trial i wouldn't put my money on it. greetings johnny -

Help with power functions.
Johnny P replied to Scott's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
the servo can be used with all battery boxes, two versions of receivers and with the PF switch.and for faster and smaller vehicles it is the best way to go. but for trial vehicles i am more fan of medium/large motors. then you can steer and let the wheels stand in one direction without them turning automatically back to center. and you can steer half way instead of full left or right. i know that when you use the speed remote you can also do that but i hate those remotes. greetings Johnny -
Thanks for the kind words guys. it was indeed a fun weekend with a lot of happy faces.including my own. for the next event i am going to try and building even more obstacles in lego. @tibivi .the race track you made was a lot of fun to drive on. To bad it was so busy that we couldn't race eachother during the day.do you have some footage of the track?

Hey Guys , I would like to show you a little video of the Truck trial course i made for our latest Belug meeting . This event happened in Antwerp Belgium . During the weekend we had about 6000 visitors and my guess is that hundreds of kids have driven the crawlers around the course. There was a constant line up of kids who were waiting to drive the crawler. There were 2 crawlers driving constantly. The crawler in the video is converted to XL motors . For the rest it's stock. And the second one was completely stock. Special thanks also go out to Inge and Wilfried who did a magnificent job helping me during the weekend. The durt part of the course was only for driving my 8*8*8 by myself. Hope you like the vid and feel free to comment good and bad.greetings Johnny.

Johnny P replied to ed-orange's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I would like to know that to. Thanks in advance -
Why is it not correct? it is still possible that he is right. when the V1 is sold out they automaticaly switch to V2.and at the moment they still have V1 in stock. And at the lego store Belgium the servo and large motor are also available. I picked some up last weekend.

Technic Re-Issues - Why Not?
Johnny P replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
bringing old sets back to Life is stupid,in my eyes. I would much rather see a dozer V2.new parts, new techniques.that would be more interesting.again in my eyes. -
i have around 40 flagship models and none is build. i only buy for parts. for the moment i have 4 times 9398 and only 1 is build with xl motors for my truck trial course on our next event.the moc's i build and satisfy me stay build. but thats for showing on events . even 8421/8275/8285/8258/8043/8297/9398/8265/... are spare parts with me. and i have several copies of each. i do keep instructions, boxes and sticker sheets nicely stored away. and i never sell a piece i only buy extra pieces .

why not make al the trucks the same scale? One is 15 studs soms 17studs and others 19 studs?keep them all tesame. Planes and other stuff i dont mind beeing bigger/smaller. Butt like the unimog could have been build in scale of the crane truck. but then again i rebuild everything to my own desires. so i don't really care.

So without wheels it will be around 50cm so this should do. the middleis gooing to be a big pile of durt. so cars will probably always fall to the side of the course. so this should also be good.and for bright light disturbance, i was thinking of putting a tent over the course. to keep direct light off the course.or do you think that this won't help? ps: stop drinking Heineken ,drink Vedett a much better beer. its belgian. so obvious its better then that dutch beer. Grtz Johnny

My base will be a flatbed trailer from my car. This floorheight is 68cm. A standard table is around 80cm. So maybe its still a bit to high?perhaps removing the wheels would be better.thats something i will look into.my course will be 5.4m by 4m.do you think that the center of the course could be to far for the ir remote's?thanks allready for the answers and tips. Johnny
