"Can you use your Agility to avoid any traps that might be here, captain?"
-
"Yeah, none taken." Erik sighs, for once paying little attention to how attractive the captain is. "It's a job, and overall I reckon Olegaia's better off for it, but it's mad how much we get away with." Even years later, the argument over whether to spare the Maginastra is an event Erik remembers well. It was one of his proudest moments in his career as a hero. "I remember about half the heroes there reckoned we should kill him. I was a lot more naive back then, though." He adds, thinking back to the behaviour of some of the kids in the Academy."Flexibility cuts both ways, sometimes. How did you get into shipping, anyway?"
-
"I've met Crimson once, and Cold once. Funnily enough, they were both on the same quest I met you." Huh, what a coincidence! "'sides that, not too much. There was a crab fellow who prob'ly wanted to take over the world, or something. Then there was the Maginastra, who was abducting children to try and save 'em from some uncertain danger, but he was quite willin' to discuss things. Nice fellow. A lot of heroing's demon slayin', really. And about half the time you're the one stickin' your nose in other peoples business over some ethics-y thing, not the other way 'round."

Source: Phred Mimphish, quest #130, and his legendary earth-elemental weapon "Stone".
-
Well I'm sure you can roleplay it as water or whatever. It's none of my business, I just figured someone would get confused later if the "water" magic wasn't doing 2x against fire, or something.
-
Quest 133 - Sapphires are wind. Aquamarines are water, and they get 2x against Fire and Earth instead of Flying and Vermin.

Erik looks over at the Warden and frowns quizzically, before turning back to the agent and locking his gaze on the man's normal eye. He shrugs and takes a step back."Well, that sounds... alright. I don't like to kill people who aren't tryin' to kill me anyway, but I haven't got any potions. I could prob'ly magic up a stone cast for your leg, but I guess you wouldn't want that. If someone else can patch you up, good on 'em." He shrugs again, awkwardly, and follows Hoke.

"Might not be goin' anywhere any time soon, but I'm sure you'd survive. Only time I ever dealt with the Crown was for some Sophia woman. Wanted us trackin' down an assassin, then she leaves our pay and disappears, and guys in funny white masks start shootin' up the place.""Maintain connections, pshh." The barbarian mutters. "What are you, anyway, some kind a' international ethics enforcers? Religious, then?" He asks, examining the Crimson Crown agent's strange metal eye.
-
Huh, Sophia was Crimson Crown. Had those goons try to kill everyone in the inn, f' some reason. Surely they're better than Cold Circle, though. Erik steps forward a few seconds after Em, but stops before he gets to the man. Except... the necromancer in the inn was just mindin' his own business when we killed him. Maybe he'd have killed people later, but the Crimson guys just decided to try kill everyone they saw. And even though that vampire was controlling people, they were fine afterwards. Except for the dead ones, but if they were Crimson Crown... ~ "I ain't leavin' him. If the world's better of without 'im, I'll take 'is head off, he'll die quickly and we'll know he won't cause trouble later. Or we bring 'im along to help kill the necromancers, and let 'im go afterwards, 'cos even a crazy Crimson Crown isn't as bad as, what, two vampires, whatever th' megabluck Melville is, and Sylvania knows what else."
-
"Your people? Can't say I've ever met anyone who looked similar to you."He hands Melvin the Talisman and heads to the kitchen
-
"So do you know if that's the first letter, boss, 'cos there's plenty of words with 'A's in 'em." "Oh, Melvin, do you want to borrow this Talisman of Enlightenment?"
-
Stats look good. "If I were them, I'd've locked up Zasies in one of the cells. She'd just kick her way out of anywhere else. Might kick her way out of a cell, too. So I reckon we should go over the stairs to Cell 1 first, then we can take out the guns and sweep the rest of the place. I'm happy for us to stick together, 'specially if we wanna clear the office while we're nearby."

Heh, no he wouldn't have. Lind forgot about Miderun's Extra Critical Hit rather than normal hit, and her 2x Encouraged modifier. He would have been on 39 health after Warlen's attack in round 5, and then Miderun would have hit him for (13x2 13x3+12.5 = 51 x2(Encouraged)=102 damage).

"Prudish hens!" Erik pats himself down for his lump of charcoal as he walks to the dock overlook, but doesn't find it. "Nevermind, I'm sure I'll never forget these zingers." "Oh." His face falls as he remembers they were supposed to ensure the Bonapartes were incapacitated. And I could easily have restrained them with magic, too. Illdria is not going to be impressed. "Yeah, like sergeant shiny-pants said, we showed up, half the Bonies had already been killed by the other half, who'd been hexed by some bloodsucker." His smile almost returns as he realises he can both impress the captain and annoy the dragoon by taking the credit for the initial discovery of the vampire. "I drew him out, then we all fought the lot of them until Guts stabbed the vampire into dust. The soldiers were all panicky afterwards though, and I calmed 'em down and completely forgot we were meant to stop them comin' after us. Er, sorry boss. I think they're all too busy crapping themselves worryin' about their Admiral teamin' up with vampires to leave their barracks, though." Throughout the exchange, the barbarian heroically resists the temptation to use his elevated position to look down the front of Illdria's corset. He gestures at the drop with his Amethyst. "Er, we comin' down here or should we meet at the stairs?"
-
Erik smiles as he watches the party leader berating the dragoon for his lack of caution. "Inexperienced troglodyte!" He snickers quietly. "Yes, let's move on." He says, acting as if nothing had happened as he strides out.
-
Erik picks up a bit of smashed electronics and looks at it. "Um. Maybe Thalion could fix this? Probably not. Looks like a mess." He mutters. "On to the docks overlook, then?" And since it's collapsed, we can presumably go straight down the stairs afterwards, and then either to the Kitchen or to meet up with the other party.
-
"I'll try blasting it if necessary when we come back, then." Erik follows Guts to the mystery room.
-
"Two rooms that are either empty or locked? We'll definitely be coming back. I'll try blasting it down if you really want, but I think the cat's right." Erik only blasts a fireball at the door if Hoke really wants him to.
-
Yes, in the same way that the wind element against a beast enemy never changes your damage.
-
Except I'm pretty sure beast has x1 for wind, since it's neither strong nor weak against it.
-
But Ethereal is an enemy type, not an element. It'd be like having a weapon deal Beast damage. Do you mean a weapon that damages ethereal enemies? That'd be a non-elemental weapon. A weapon that deals 2x damage against ethereal enemies would be alright, but ethereals aren't that common anyway.
-
It's definitely winnable, considering Heckz deals Jinxed and Weakened on hits, as long as you don't roll special damage first round. It will because being healed to full health removes bleeding.
-
"If that doesn't work, we could try 'Melville', but I get the feeling we'll end up coming back here anyway. Should we try the ??? Room next?
-
Erik looks out into the blackness. "Huh, nothing unusual. I was thinking there might be more zombies here, or something. Should we head to the laboratory now?" He turns back towards the staircase leading to the lookout tower, but then stops and looks around, curious as to whether the dragoon had ended up accompanying the party to the lookout tower, or had been left behind at the barracks. I got the impression we were ready to keep exploring, but if people wanted to chat more with the soldiers we can go back.
-
"I see. Sounds pretty routine, but still, you said Morgan was in charge of them? If you can tell us where they are being held, that might help us find her." Erik follows the rest of the party to the lookout tower.
