I think the only item created specifically for the store was the Black Knight's armour - everything else specific to a single class appeared on a quest and was added to the store, I believe. So a QM made the Witch's Talisman, and Sandy put that in the store because it's a really useful item for the average witch. A lot of the new-ish class specific items were added after the final battle of Quest #93, where the enemy bosses all had player classes, and so Sandy built a class-specific item for each of them to drop, which were then added to the shop. There are still plenty of classes without their own item in the shop though, like Evoker, so if someone makes an item for one of those classes that Sandy likes and isn't overly powerful or complicated and complements the class, it's fairly likely it will end up available in the shop sooner or later. So what Flipz said.

Oh well that too of course. I'd never miss an event like that unless I had no internet access or something.

Now I've been eliminated, I can reveal that my nefarious plan was to get paired against someone with all power:8 cards, and even though I'd have a low chance of winning, I'd be statistically likely to trump at least one card, which I'd exchange for a gem, and so make a 95 gold profit. Unfortunately I was not lucky enough to trump a power: 8 card, but I still gained a card Erik can exchange for a Health Core, from a 5 gold deck of cards. Still good profit, and besides Decamon Drafter wouldn't really fit with Erik anyway.

Heroica RPG - Decamon Tournament: Viridian Cup
Myrddyn replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Erik plays his Will-o'-the-Wisp (Fiery 1), to trump the icy polar bear. On his turn he plays his Lucky Rabbit (Icy 1), meaning the only card he has left for the last round is his Toxic Toad (Plant 1). -
Rogue has hide now, which means you won't absorb free hits if you roll miss. Watch out for that. Plus Barbarian might be sometimes useful to blind all enemies.

If you're wondering what you can sell from the evidence lock-up, I'd see if Docken/ Brickdoctor wants to buy the Cape of Extravagance. To my mind that's a better item than the Helm of Prestige anyway, especially for Docken's tank build, and he's less than 2 levels from mime, with a 3x XP amulet and a niche backwear item he'd probably be just as well off switching to for the occasional battle where it's any use.

Heroica RPG - Decamon Tournament: Viridian Cup
Myrddyn replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Hello. Haven't seen you around before." Erik plays Glow Worm (Luminous 1) (Tie?) On his turn he plays Scarab (Rock 1) -
"Makes sense." Erik says, trading his Scarab (Rock 1) for The Demon Germ's Will o the Wisp (Fiery 1)
-
Erik soon finds himself running around frantically, trying to optimise his deck of cards in time for the tournament. "If you swap your luminous for his firey, I'll swap a rock for the firey with you, so you don't end up with two of the same, if you'd like." He says, peering over the shoulder of the Munchkin Rogue and indicating the Demon rogue with his Scarab (Rock 1). "Sorry, very rude of me, but that way none of us would have multiples of the same card."
-
Erik looks through his deck again. "I'll swap a Lucky Rabbit (Icy 1) for your Will o' the Wisp (Firey 1), if you'd like." "Or a Scarab (Rock 1) if you'd prefer."
-
Erik peruses his cards, spending some time glancing between them and the rule sheet. Hearing a dwarf call out an offer of trade, Erik makes his way through the crowd as fast as possible. "Does this Scarab (Rock 1) sound like a trade you would be willing to make for the Volt Ant?
-
Eh? I re-read the first topic post and couldn't see where it says that. Do you mean the last (championship) cup? Also, being only able to buy one hand of cards does mean that usually the opponents' full deck will be the hand they chose.
-
"Thank you, Pretzel."Erik accepts the items. "Yes, I intend to be vigilant in that regard. Thank you for your advice." Erik also puts up his own sign under Pretzel's. Interested in selling any or all of the following: Voltedge (WP: 13, greatsword/longsword), Sharkskin Armour (SP +1, bodywear), Shamanic Plate (Max. Health +2, Max. Ether +2; Blood Ritual does double damage to the target; suitable for shamans; bodywear), Lighter Armor (SP: 4, immune to Fragile, suitable for barbarians, knights, dragoons, skirmishers and regulators; bodywear).
-
Some enemies have ether-based attacks, but magic also includes any elemental attacks.
-
Erik buys a beginners hand for 5 gold. What kind of fool would spend a hundred gold on cards? He thinks hypocritically, considering he would have spent over a hundred gold himself if the rules of the tournament had been easier to take advantage of. Seeing a half-elf looking for someone to lend him money, Erik hands him 20 gold.
-
Having completed his training as a Battle Mage, Erik finds Pretzel at the Questboard. Erik signs his name up for Quest #121: Want your mummy? "You said you could get a 15% discount at the marketplace? Could you have the gems removed from this stuff, and a ruby imbued in both the Titanic Axe and the Heavy Armour, and the Titanic Axe's weapon power taken up to 12?" Erik hands Monk Pretzel 442 gold, as well as a load of equipment. (OOC: Details are in spoilers to avoid cluttering the hall thread)

Erik makes his way to the Training Room for the second time. "Hey, Mr Fox. You trained me as a Shaman a while back, and don't get me wrong, I do appreciate it, and these are some useful skills to have. It's just that, well, healin' injuries is all well and good, but I think as a hero with this organisation I'm more likely to find an opportunity for, ahem, preventin' people from being wounded in the first place, by, well, bashin' the people who'd wound 'em first." "What do you want me to teach you, then? You can hit people as a Shaman." Erik produces the Darkstar Wand, and shows it to Copper Fox. "I got this wand off a guy I met on my first quest with Heroica. Can you teach me to use that?" "I would need to train you as a Battle Mage for that, but you might consider Raider instead. Without any gems, a Raider's ravages would be far more useful than a Battle Mage's circles of might and magic. In addition to which, as a Raider, you would be able to find opportunities to steal gold from your opponents." "Steal gold in the middle of a fight? I'm not a criminal! I'll take the opportunity to stab 'em instead, and then loot their corpse afterwards, like a true hero." After training with Copper Fox for a period of time, Erik emerges as a Battle Mage. Erik Tyrvarr (Myrddyn) 19 years old male human Battle Mage. Level: 22 2/3 Health: 39 (Barbarian base 8 + Level bonus 21 + Battle Mage bonus 5 + Raw Meat 5) Ether: 23 (Level bonus 22 + Battle Mage bonus 1)

Perhaps a solution to the issue of accountability in the chosen hand would be to have Sandy select an additional two players in each match, (perhaps the next pair of players), whom the other two players PM their chosen hand to? That way Sandy isn't swamped with PM's, and we retain a fairly high degree of accountability. Also perhaps a cap on the number of rewards each character can take would discourage people from buying loads of cards without requiring a retcon? Though I'd have no objections if Sandy decides to go with a retcon. I'd of course be prepared to assist in any way, but I don't have a heap of time to do so. Perhaps an easy solution would be to make the rules modification only for cards higher than a certain power. Everyone so far with only five cards, some of which are duplicates, have only power:1 cards.
-
So is the first cup on Tuesday, or is that just when we need to be signed up by? And can we purchase more cards later, or only before the first cup begins?
-
"Certainly." Erik hands Mizuki 3 gold coins.
-
"Yeah, I've been well. Haven't been on any quests recently, but I'm planning to get back into it soon. Thinking of training as a battle-mage. How have you been?"
-
"Ah, a hundred gold?" Erik asks, accepting the gold and handing over the flute.
-
Thank you sir. Yeah, I realised he should probably be 20, but I didn't want to let that get in the way of making a crack at teenage male characters. Actually, he started off as 18 in late March 2012, which was about 33 months ago real-time, but he's spent 15 months real-time on quests that took place over a total of about a month Hall Standard Time, so he's still only 19 and a half.
-
"Sure. Deal. You can do it more justice than I could anyway." Erik hands the Hundred Heroes Hymn to Nerwen. "I have this flute, actually. I got it from some demon in a school." He says, producing the Nocturne Flute. "Good to meet you, Miss Kiray." Erik says, shaking the offered hand. "She was from the Hovels, and her friend had gotten mixed up with some cultists underneath the city." He continues, on more familiar ground with this armoured knight. "Good to meet you too, Mr Actaeon."
-
"Yes... I have been well, thank you." Erik says, the elf lady's face coming back to him as she mentioned the Nôrn girl, but his memory failing to bring up the name attached to it. "It's a song. A bard I met once wrote it and gave it to me, but I'm not very musical. Some Crimson Crown people attacked him. I'm not sure why. I and the party I was with and also a demon-hunter killed them. How have you been faring?" The teenaged male human says awkwardly, not at all used to talking with happy, unarmed and attractive women.
