  1. Now that is a good question because I experience too much dust with my MOCs and sets. But you're getting a bit ahead of yourself because you haven't finished it yet! When are you going to do some more work on it?
  2. Do you have limited space at your place? Most here build their MOCs and then destroy them :'-( and recycle the pieces in future MOCs. Space is very precious when it comes to MOCs!
  3. Will you be acquiring more in the future?
  4. And the name change has been made! How many pieces do you have to put towards this MOC?
  5. They'd all be the same size after I got round to editing them. But before I do that I'd like a variety of opinions. So here's the larger ones in a row... >:-( 8-| :'-( :-| X-O
  6. + = 8-| + = :-| And I've made :'-( for good measure If all the smileys were the same size you wouldn't notice so much. But the point of the larger size is to allow for more detail because its hard to give the smiley an expression and a Pirate theme because there's not enough space to incorporate both. So if the larger were sized down they'd lose some of their detail which I don't really want. So here I am face with a predicament!
  7. Perhaps I should make them all slightly larger, but only if the larger size is appropriate.
  8. One thing I'm not too keen of is the inclusion of conifers because I don't really think they fit in well with the tropical plants, obviously because they thrive in a different climate. I'd recommend the following to create a denser jungle: and Of course you probably don't have those pieces but there's feedback for you.

  14. I have dared to make >:-( wide rather than shorter. I'll take as much space as I can get away with. As well taking Oo7's suggestions into account for this fellow X-O I think this fellow :pirate2: is supposed to be a pirate and this fellow :pirate3: is supposed to be an Imperial Guard commander. However, the difference is almost unnoticeable so something will be done to make them look more different. I seem to have fixed the double of X-O.
  15. Here are some updates: revised to X-O vs >:-( One major change I've made is these two smileys are 2 whole pixels taller than the others, so does it work or do they look too tall?
  16. Are you putting point 3 to the test Mr Norro?
  17. Yes it does! It does! It does! It does! The name must be a literal translation! It must! It must! It must! Yes it does. It got that name because Captain Roger takes it sailing in the Black Seas to go Barracuda fishing. PS X-D
  18. Yes, we're aware that Piglet is a member of our forum. He came here to share his Pirate fumetti about 6 months ago however he never did report back to inform us his comic was complete. Apparently Bonaparte was going to invite him to join this discussion but it appears that hasn't happened yet.
  19. Obviously I've moved this thread to the Pirate MOC sub-forum which wasn't really negotiable, however you haven't told me what you think I my proposed renaming of "model" to "MOC" yet.
  20. But you're not actually going to put a cabin back there, just merely allude to it? In that case then you probably should be using green doors like in Armada Sentry to create some kind of sub-theme colour consistency.
  21. I can let you in on some of the plans... The first is to upgrade the Pirate skin which I'm doing little by little starting with the Pirate smiley, but there will be a couple of major changes when I get a new digital camera. Then comes acquiring a domain like www.pirate-lego.com or similar and with it a monthly newsletter with all the highlights for the past month. This way fans of Pirate LEGO who can't always get to the forum can keep up with what's going on, thus reigniting their interest.
  22. Mr Oo7 has suggested "Avery Island" or some variation of that name, however I'm not sure 5 parrots on a MOC this size is sufficient to make that name posthumousness. Is there any particular reason the Pirates have arrived at the island? Are they burying or retrieving treasure? their activity may give way to suitable title for the island. Are you going to reduce the spikiness?
  23. Yes, things began to change drastically within the sets from 1996 onwards. The pieces got bigger but there were less of them in sets and therefore the designs got shonkier, just look at Fright Knights. However, post 1997 I think Adventurers/Orient Expedition and Ninja weren't too bad but the rest hasn't been much. The pirate sets from 1996 and 1997 don't seem as horrible as say Fright Knights, but sets like 6292 Shipwrecked could have done with a few more pieces to flesh out their design. The Armada Flagship suffers from this "piece conservatism" as well.
  24. This little lonesome island is quite abuzz with activity. Does it have a name or is it just known as "little lonesome island"? And is that a Skulls Eye Schooner peaking in from the left-hand side?
  25. Doors you say? They look more like window shutters to me, not exactly what I'd call a grand entrance to the stern castle.
