  1. 1. Judging by the pictures, rate the 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship out of 10, with 10 being the best and 1 the worst. I gave it a 6.5, which is perhaps indicative of my lack of ship building knowledge. I had to round that up to 7, though. 2. Do you plan to buy the 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship? I'll probably get two. One to build... One to gather dust increase exponentially in value after production ends. 3. What are the biggest flaws of the set? (Multiple choice!) The minifigure selection. I'll join the Where's Pintel and Ragetti club? So what's the play here? Is The LEGO Group playing the game and intending to release these minifigures in a future set? Or is a case of... they reached their minifigure quota and decided to omit these two characters because Cotton and Marty are more popular? The GWP. To be blunt... I have absolutely no interested in sets which are based on a 3D depictions of a supposedly relevant objects. I'd much rather a smaller minifigure scale set with a couple of minifigures. But acknowledge some fans find these larger sets unaffordable, so that would mean a Gift With Purchase they actually want is also outside their grasp. So the question raised; is offering GWP that most fans don't particularly want, really adding value to their purchase? But maybe a more casual buyer, who doesn't have their head shoved firmly up the Classic Themes era, does find a brick-built compass enticing? Do we have any casual buyers lurking who could provide some insgiht? No shooting cannons. Nobody ever died from being shot by a LEGO cannon - or do I stand corrected? Although, plenty of people have felt like they were dying after stepping on a LEGO brick barefoot. That's all I have time for now... but I'll be back later to continue...

  8. Well done! And I didn't mention earlier, but you've succeeded at blending in that unsightly outhouse. More expansive towards pirates? For the benefit of those (such as myself) who haven't had the time to review the Series 9 palette, are you able to provide a quick update on the pirate related parts which have recently become available?
  9. But where shall ye be acquiring yer replica sails?
  10. This is old news now... Pirates of the Caribbean Executive Producer, Jerry Bruckheimer seems very confident Johnny Depp will return for the next film. Another claim along those lines hit the news cycle a few days ago. ScreenRant Entertainment Weekly Variety Bruckheimer was also making similar claims last year. Although, let it be noted, nothing has been officially confirmed by anyone.

  18. I haven't reviewed the palette for Series 9... but is this question implying that the "old school actually firing" cannon parts are now available to BrickLink Designer builders? So yes, if you can use classic cannons and incorporate an extra Imperial themed rowboat, definitelydo it! This will bring your design closer inline with classic sets which tends to be what the fans prefer. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've also inserted a static image of the build into the first post. As great as the build animation is, many people probably don't have the patience to watch it repeatedly to catch a 2 second glimpse of the completed build at the end. So having the fully rendered, complete build at the start of the topic may help draw in other commentators... or it may not.
  19. The original post on Piratebricks.net is in French. After using the ordinary web browser translation feature we discover the builder states: "The sails are made by a guy I "met" on FB, Towarzysz Klocek - Sails and Fabrics for LEGO sets" Towarzysz has a Facebook page named Sails and Fabrics for LEGO sets so I assumed he can be reached via that page. Hmmmm.... this is inspiring to me write an article with a name along of the lines of "Legend of the Ironram" so something to that effect.
  20. A version of the Caribbean Clipper by Benefactors 2025 based on the Black Seas Barracuda from Barracuda Bay...
  21. Aye, the leaking process is starting to feel a bit drawn out... perhaps overdone in this case... It's about time we got the official announcement.
  22. You're going to turn the Caribbean Clipper into a pirate ship?
  23. Newly leaked Jack Sparrow head is a lot more reassuring!
  24. Someone else will have to further this design even more!
