  1. Structurally I'd agree that the latest seige engine is superior, however the large pieces like the wheels for instant really dissuade me. I guess my mentality is stuck back in the early 90's (and that extend beyond LEGO X-D )
  2. Now that I've compared both versions I can see a striking distance between them! The original looks flimsy and two-dimensional while the new version looks more substantial. Still, the original looks better than most Castle sets The LEGO Group has released since about 1995...
  3. These are mighty fine creations Morgan, how come you didn't post these yourself?
  4. Aren't those Mega Blok sails?
  5. Errr... Where's a link to the original saloon? I can't different tell the difference between this and the orignal!
  6. I watched it just over a week ago and I didn't get any sense of elevation and there was definitely no ledge!
  7. Someone has been rather busy! And I should be busy working on this project actually...
  8. Uh oh! Here comes the killjoy! Looking at these new sets I just see Knights Kingdom with a Tolkienesque influence. Once again we have lots of large pieces slapped together with accessories all over the place rather than any ingenuity in design. It seems a step back from the previous offerings, but obviously it's only a step back if The LEGO Group were progressing towards a new Classic Castle which they're obviously not...
  9. Where was September 30th stated as the official closing date for voting? That information appears to be absent from the top of this thread and it seems very important information to be included.
  10. They seem to be quite high up... As I recall the action took place a lot closer to sea level! X-D
  11. Unfortunately the length of production is no assurance of quality - rather it means I'm doing too much work!
  12. I need to see evidence first. Ideally you filmed it and uploaded it to YouTube.
  13. Now douse it with a flamable substance and drop a match on it. GO ON! I dare you!
  14. Huh? What are you on about? That is absurd! Yeah, melt them down and make Barbie doll...
  15. I have now viewed the Brickshelf gallery! There's some quite magnificent attention to detail here... The figurehead... The stern... The rigging especially... Only downside is there's not many good pictures of the entire ship. If we had something like the below picture taken from the bow we could frontpage this on Classic-Pirates.com.
  16. I cannot believe that I haven't posted in this thread yet? Where the hell have a been? Making a film or something outrageous like that? X-D Ok, now you've amassed this army Lord Bonaparte what shall you be doing with it?
  17. Yes, I suppose it could be... But... I think I'd prefer the 1989-1993 era better. Although that's not really relevant to this MOC because it is a MOC and not an attempt at designing a set.
  18. I don't know any forts personally, we seem to have a personality clash. However, my local forts tend to be made of sandstone so they're of an earthly yellow colour: My observation was derived in comparission with the official colour aesthetic of forts in the Pirate theme - I.e. white and yellow, but definitely not that of real life.
  19. On second thoughts it does look a bit "Knights Kingdomy" how the brown plate is place atop of the BURP.
  20. And I thought it was voodoo magic!
  21. What a nice little set this would make - what do you call this one?
  22. That's probably not going to be feasible unless a larger version of the logo exists somewhere. Scanning a small image at a higher DPI will indeed increase its size however its quality will also diminish as the half toning will become more apparent. What are you using this logo for Mr PiratesLegoFan?
  23. Perhaps it would be best if Captain Ka-Boom could tell us what he meant by SpellJammer and then we won't have to guess.
  24. I decided this thread was very MOCly so I moved it to the Pirate MOC forum...
