I rated it 4! But first of all I shall mention that I do not own a single Ninja set so my assessment is not very throughout. Looking at the pictures from box art and catalogues the Ninja theme appears to be the last decent SYSTEM theme (Ok, so Orient Expedition wasn't that bad but isn't that technically a continuation of Adventurers?).

What takes the most work is designing graphics for the skins and smileys and for that reason I'm in no hurry to change them.

Small nitpick... Would it be too much trouble to have these sails the right way up for the Sails Library?

I had't come across that one before, so I looked it up and it means "the formation of a word, as cuckoo or boom, by imitation of a sound made by or associated with its referent."

No. No I cannot... :-P Oh alright then... Live Effects are plugins or filters which can be applied to objects or bitmaps and can be edited or remove at any time. For example: I create the text "Pirate Forum" and then add a drop shadow. But I'm not happy with the drop shadow so I go back and change the settings. The shadow updates and I haven't had to undo or recreate anything. Similiarly, I add a word "Eurobricks Pirate Forum" and the shadow is automatically added to "Eurobricks". I then make the text bold and the shadow automatically adjusts to the new thickness of the text. I understand Photoshop has limited ability to do this. I.e. there are a range of effects you can add to a layer, but with Live Effects you can add most effects/plugins to any object and change them whenever you please without having to "undo" anything.

Is there any particular reason you made the tower look like something out of the Castle sets from earlier this year? I like how you had it in the first picture. Gaaaaaaaawd I'm going on about that tower! X-D

I don't like the shape of the black tower! It looks too much like something out of the Castle sets from earlier this year and I thought those peripheral towers looked a bit daft.

The LEGO Group would never employ you... Your sets are far too good compared to what they design these days...

Yes, Fireworks is my preferred image editing software. It doesn't have as many features as Photoshop but its "Live Effects" capability more than makes up for it.

I wouldn't place too much stock in a 4 day old comment by an anonymous poster... I'm sceptic and that probably makes me pesimistic, but I think that's acceptable because I'm positive towards just about everything else X-D

Try changing the feather setting, by default its on 10 but you probably only want it on 1 at the most.

Just so everyone knows we won't be adding any new smileys just yet. We're sorting out some issues we've been having between skins. I.e. When someone is using the Pirate skin they can't use normal smileys in the Piraet Forum. When that gets rectified then maybe we can add some, however we can't add them all. So maybe we should have a poll and let everyone decide which smileys should be added.

Yeah, that's probably a fair observation.

I'm not so sure I'd even buy new pirate sets... Errr... I'd probably only buy Legends/re-releases if there were more. But if someone was to give me a recent LEGO set that might be a different story... I'd probably build it...

Someone should create the exact same topic in the History & Adventure forum so we compare the difference...

I'll be dragged into the 00's when The LEGO Group starts producing sets that appeal to me. That came close with Viking but didn't quite get there...

The black blazer certainly do contrast with the rest of the troops and this would be highly advantageous for the enemy because they'd know exactly who to target. Afterall, with leaders what good is the army?
