A born-again pirate fan looking for some advice...
Mister Phes replied to QuartermasterRobert's topic in LEGO Pirates
Is this it? I can't really comment on the distribution of Pirate LEGO in Europe because I don't have enough substantial information. But what I do know is it's cheaper in the US than it is here, so needless to say a lot of the MISB sets I procure are coming from there. -
This nabataea.net website looks quite useful. Someone please index it.

You mean "The Merchant" also known affectionately as "Steve". I've noticed prices in the US and more generous than other parts of the world, so I thought the US had it easier. -

You're not dissing the mighty Islanders are you!!! X-O X-D -
WIP Pirate MOC threads will never be frontpaged on Eurobricks. Only the best of the best Pirate MOCs are worthy to be shared with the entire Eurobricks community.

Maybe Hinckley had an evil twin brother and they both killed each other while at sea, hence explaining why we see two skeleton mini-figures that could be him...

The Basketball had a myriad variety of heads darkskin heads for it's mini-figures but I'm not sure if any of them are suitable to resemble a woman as they had facial hair - unless you want a bearded lady X-D Anyway, we now have a Non-Pirate Figures Useful for Pirate MOCing thread so keep your eye on that in case something useful turns up. So you haven't made any customs mini-figures previously? This is indeed your very first voyage into these waters? -
Is that a dead Hinckley I can see on board?

Non-Pirate Mini-Figures Useful for Pirate MOCing?
Mister Phes replied to Athos's topic in LEGO Pirates
Mr Cunningham has been mentioned in recent times... -
I think you could make it look a little bit more interesting by rotating the blue awnings 45 degrees - the lower half seems a bit flat. I think some greenery beneath the windows would be nice too. You shall install a shrubbery! What's that sign above the door? Is it a custom label?

Master eBay Auctions thread - post noteworthy auctions here
Mister Phes replied to interstellar's topic in LEGO Pirates
The LEGO Sharpe website is very interesting and I recommend everybody checks it out. As for advertising selling this army, it is a violation of the Eurobricks Terms and Conditions for new users to sell their LEGO. This is clearly stated in the Terms of Conditions which all user must agree upon before successfully completing registration. On the other hand, this is no ordinary sale so I'll review matter as it may appeal to some of the more serious Pirate LEGO collectors. -
It's a pity Col. Whipstick isn't here because he's a great resource of historical information. I'm not sure when he's returning to us but I don't think it's in the near future.

Unfortunately there weren't enough. Fibblesnork's website has such a list which you can find here. I've got all the ships. But there's a couple of small promotional sets only available in the USA I've yet to acquire. It's only a matter of time though. Fraid not. They stole all the Pirate Customisation threads and put them here. Exactly what do you need anyway? -

Mister Phes replied to QuartermasterRobert's topic in LEGO Pirates
Greetings Quartermaster Roberts! It's great to know you and your girlfriend are big pirate fans - like most of us here. If you've got lots of money then you can go to a website like www.bricklink.com and buy them all. It will cost you a pretty penny though. If you want to spend less money then try eBay. Although Pirate sets on eBay are getting more and more expensive but occasionally you'll find a good deal. It's a matter of preying upon sellers who don't understand the value of what they're selling and poorly list the item. Though you've got check EVERYDAY and it may take years to collect them all. But it worked for me! -
Which would you buy - The Caribbean Clipper or Red Beard Runner?
Mister Phes replied to Big T's topic in LEGO Pirates
You're a champion! I won a Red Beard Runner lately - could it have been the one you were watching? We needed a monthly poll and this topic seemed worthy. The discussion has been GREAT but it seems the voting department has been a bit quiet. Though it's better to have discussion than just poll votes so no complaints from me! Vote in the poll everyone!!! -
The list is updated once more! The list seems to include a few things we don't often in MOC form, like light houses, mills and plantations. Are there any MOCers out there who want to have a stab at bringing these ideas into reality?

AAHHHHH! Timmy from the Time Cruisers theme. Ya know, I think I actually have a Timmy mini-figure in my Flying Time Vessel or whatever it's called. Nonetheless, I'll wait to see if SlyOwl wants to create his own version of that image. It's definitely not going to be a priority of mine for a long long time.

Actually it would be better if you created a new post because 1) It's easier to find it's the latest post 2) It bumps the thread and then I know there's a new suggestion Yes, some for of categorisation will probably be necessary for the future as one big list will be daunting. But for now we'll just add them as they come.

Don't forget to resize the pictures - the pictures you've posted are a bit too big. Recommended size is 800 x 600. See the How to Perform a Batch Image Resize Tutorial for instructions on how to do this. Phred only resizes images for you once to you to get you started, from now on you've got to resize your own images.

These are great suggestions! If anybody ever says they can't think of something to build this will be the thread we point them towards. At a later date we should go back and add short definitions to each item to fully clarify what they are.

How did you become a Pirate LEGO Fanatic?
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'm glad we've shown you the true AFOL path X-D Interesting, but what made you come to the conclusion that Pirate LEGO is the best? How long ago did it happen?
