  1. Gee SlyOwl, not a stud in sight - you must hate them X-D Once again another superb SlyOwl creation! You never fail to impress with your use of vibrant colours and the amusing antics you apply to the characters within.
  2. Here's an innovative way to "smuggle" a Castle Skeleton Horse into the Pirate theme. Hmmmm.... Now that gives me an idea for the "A Pirate's Life" competition...
  3. Thanks Blockbeard. I must have missed this auction somehow so I'll go and put a bid on it right now. *skull*
  4. I admit these huge ships aren't my favourite, but they do demonstrate what an effective building medium LEGO can be. Yes, Mr Tiber, you should send him a reminder X-D Well perhaps a friendly note to ask him how he's been and what he thinks of his wonderful creations being discussed.
  5. Your style is better than mine and I've explained at least 3 times what I intend to use them for in various threads in the Captain's Cabin. The short answer is: to break up monotonous page of text with splashes of colour and intrigue.
  6. 14 comments isn't a that many however. You might notice some users, like Phred for example getting over 100 responses for their MOC. But for your first effort you've done pretty well so here is comment 15 X-D
  7. This is quite a well done vignette! I like how you've dangled the skeletons legs over the treasure chest, but like Mr Tiber notice, that skeleton must have been a really really tall lad once. X-D
  8. The latest competition from the LEGO Pirates Forum Build a set (or sets) you think the LEGO Group could to sell the world in a new Pirates LEGO theme!!! There are three classes to choose from: Impulse, Small and Large. The contest will run from March 31st to May 12th Click here for full details and to discuss the entries Click here to submit your entry
  9. Why thank you SlyOwl, but I always leave the pressganging... Errr... recruiting to others... Yes, that is a hint for someone to go and contact him. :-D
  10. So are you in the market for a real pirate ship or a LEGO pirate ship? X-D Hmmm... Clear you say... Well I think my question was of utmost importance :-D
  11. Yes, I think so. Remind what the link is and I'll double check... Yes, I'm in agreeance as I don't particularly like the melding of history with futuristic elements.
  12. Yes, the pictures are ridiculously big for online use, but they should be automatically be resized to fit after they've full loaded. This can take a couple of minutes, depending on your Internet Connection speed.
  13. Our friend Dictionary.com defines a sprue as: So imagine what the mold for coins looks like...
  14. Were you fortunate enough to get one as a kid, or is this a more recent acquisition?
  15. What? You think a family wedding is an excuse not to post pictures? Ok, so it is... X-D
  16. Is that supposed to be a rhetorical question? It would seem you've already answered it :-P Can ships of this size be used for Evil Stevie's Pirate Game?
  17. Well I was going to save them for other threads...
  18. I found this Imperial Harbour on Brickshelf. What I find really interesting is the creator has set about building a historic fort but adding futuristic elements like the antennas and satellite dish. Check out the Brickshelf Gallery.
  19. We've seen the first ship and Soliel Royal in the past, but the second is not looking familiar. Be interesting to know who is working on it.
  20. Yeah I corrected the names to minimise confusion.
  21. Now lets compare: My guess The English version
  22. This is very exciting indeed! Here's what the opening paragraph of the website says (Errr I think).
  23. Ahhhhhh so the yellow writing isn't made from snot... 8-|
  24. I did this for sure. I imagined it to be some kind of Incan artifact or something to that effect. I always presumes they were made of gold, or at least some form of gold alloy hence not having the same luster as the coins X-D
  25. This thread is quite similar to the How did you become a Pirate LEGO Fanatic? thread only more straight to the point. No matter, I'll just cross reference them! Anyway, here's mine:
