Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Mister Phes replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'd say 75 Euros is also quite expensive for an Eldorado Fortress. If it had a pristine box and instructions then I'd say maybe, but only if you were a die hard collector that appreciated those extras. Realistically I'd say 60 Euros is the maximum you'd want to pay. If you're buying from Europe you probably could get for around 30-40 Euros from Belgium, France, Germany if you're prepared to spend time shopping around.- 502 replies

An excellent addition to our reference section - when someone finally gets round to creating that is

The base plates certainly help to bring uniformity to their arrangement... So General, how long has it taken you to amass an army of this size? It can't have been cheap either.

I've always dreamed of building something like this - only I would have called it "Forbidden Bridge" and had one of those stone Islander deity statues reigning over everything. Nonetheless, I think it's terrific and I'll flag it as frontpage material!

How long till you receive these missing pieces? And exactly which pieces are you missing?

This is a marvelous creation! I don't think I've seen it before. How did I miss it? Never mind that! I'll flag it as frontpage material!

Ok... Starting with the cannon what BBCode short cut should we use? Something like this? ==0-0

Folks, we have what appears to be the set names for the 2009 Pirate sets! Edit by Hinckley: Move along, there's nothing to see here. Move along. Carry on. Nothing to see... Go to the Pirate forum immediately to keep up with the discussion!

Well congratulations Wes! The auctions are about in end in half an hour so good luck!

The Winners! Fallentomato 1) 3) Imperial Scouts 3) Skipper 24 2) Imperial Shadows 1) Shoc 1) The smileys shall be added to the Smiley Manager within the next few days... When is the next round? We've got something a lot more interesting planned for September so the next round of Smiley Wars will have to wait until that's over.

You're only going to get murmurs and guesses on other websites/forums until the LEGO Group makes an official announcement. The purpose of this thread is collect tidbits of information and then its up to the individual to assemble them and determine what's really going on. Like everyone I'd prefer a straight out yes or no, but it's not that simple. Even if new Pirate sets were definitely being released we could not announce that information until the LEGO Group gives authorisation. If we did so prematurely we could get ourselves into trouble. But rest assured, if any official information is released then it'll be presented in this forum at the very first opportunity.

Here's the thing... Even if there is a new Pirate theme on the horizon they can't tell anyone until the LEGO Group is ready to make an official statement. So even if the answer is yes, they've still got to say no... It keeps everyone speculating which is rather teasing in a way... A fun way of course...

Lagoon Lockup is in my top 5 favourite sets! I particularly like how you've improved the yellow brickwork to make it resemble the sandstone which appears in colonial masonry. The presentation is also marvelous, taking that extra effort to remove the background and insert something more fitting has been well worth it. Chris, do you happen to be a graphic designer?

CONTEST: Pirate LEGO Smiley Wars - VOTING

It'll be "beyond interesting"!!! Now I shall close the thread and prepare the winning announcement... -
Well you better finish the L'Orient Mister! The rebuild has been effective, after comparing both sides I have concluded the revision is much sleeker and sexier thus allowing for a much "sportier" appearance. You should definitely rebuild the starboard now...

I'm not sure I'm big on tumblehomes as they remind me too much of the hull of the 4+ 7075 Captain Red Beard's ship. I like my hull sleek like those found in the SYSTEM Pirate sets - so good thing that this isn't my hull How much does the ship cost on LDD?

I'm really curious about the legality of these clone/imitation brands. Sure they're a direct rip off of official LEGO products but where is a reputable legal source that clearly states this is fraudulent? I realise a considerable amount of counterfeit LEGO was seized back in 2004 but other than reading it described as "counterfeit" there was little information to clarify what made it fraudulent. Was it a direct clone or were there differences? The chrome cutlass for example may be sufficient to denote the above mini-figure as a different product to that of LEGO.
