You mean Agents and Alpha Team aren't related? Uh oh...
-
I wasn't specifically referring to the gold toothed faces, I had the "Ogel Wizard" or "Evil Wizard" in mind when I wrote the previous post.
-
Interesting point - I realise they've appeared in the recent castle but why would they use Agent heads in pirate sets? Next question, would you like to see Agents heads appear in future Pirate sets?
-
You're thinking of the Barnacle Bay Value Pack. Desert Island came in a Value Pack of 5 sets, each from a different theme.
-
I can think of two reasons. 1) They want an all new head for the pirate 2) The head in that picture looks a lot friendlier, which may be intended to make the set more appealing to 4-7 age range.

Ok, let's give this thread the piratical treatment! I shall move it to the Pirate Forum and feature the 95 scurvy dogs in the newseletter!

The 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992 UK & Australian catalogues had a description for 6235 Buried Treasure which read "Bo'Sun Will with pirate gold and his monkey"

Yes Mister Tiber, those lemons are very potent and have mind altering effects. They're the sole reason I'm so crazy!!! Anyway, I've turned my first post in this thread into an index. I think I've got all the names, let me know if I've missed something.

Well you're a lucky laddie! My parents never bought me anything that big when I was kiddie. Ah well... I've made up for it well and truly since!

Back in the days before "Impulse" was a word in the LEGO Group's marketing vocabulary there were small sets such 1481 Desert Island. This one in particular was part of a larger "value pack" so it could not be purchased independently. The island itself is very simplistic, just two yellow plates held together with a stack of grey bricks that represent bricks. It is very much similar to 1464 Pirate Lookout which did retail in both box and polybag. The only real difference between the two is the pirate mini-figure and accessories like the flag and animals. Interestingly Desert Island is the only small pirate set which contains more than one animal, as it generously offers both a shark and parrot. There's a flag on a lance and a pot filled with gold coins - that's about it! A small, simple and sweet set!

I've found a webpage on the U.S. Civil War Uniforms which may be of help. Here's a link for you.

Welcome lego12! You've got some interesting creations but may I recommend a suggestion that may help to get some more responses? Try out our How to perform a batch image resize Tutorial. Threads with an image or three in their first post usually get more attention than just text links, but bare in mind we prefer the images to be in .JPG format and no larger than 800 x 600 pixels so as not to burden those with slower Internet connections and smaller monitor. If you want to display many images in the one post then try using thumbnails, we have also have a Creating Clickable Thumbnails Tutorial to teach you how to do that. Those tutorials should help your MOCs get a few more responses!

Well Noidea, you certain do have an idea how to make an entertaining film! Do you have a poster image for the film? If you do we could promote your film on the frontpage of Classic-Pirates.com (when it returns) and our Newsletter.

There's a limit to how much new users can upload to the server, but as Matn suggested it would be beneficial for you to get a Brickshelf account. Matn, your post was very informative, thanks for taking the time to write that

2009 Pirate Set Impressions - the good, the bad and the ugly
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
6239 (the one with the cannon) What I like The Imperial Guard with cannon concept - the designer was obviously inspired by my 6238 Imperial Ground Forces MOC A all new map for the pirate theme What I don't like I'm not exactly sure what that grey structure is yet. It looks like a statue better suited to the Island sub-theme. -
My advice is when posting someone else's MOC, try to credit their name name in the thread description or at least in the first post and also display at least one picture. Pictures can help a thread garner more attention but not always!

When the picture first loaded I thought "Hey, that looks very Mediterranean!" so for me, you've hit the Greek Island aesthetic right on the head. Other than that I think it looks very "summer breezely" if there's such a way to describe a building.

Dwarven merchant ship? You sure you're posting in the right forum? Dwarves are more the realm of the History & Adventure forum.
-
That will definitely prevent people from missing you Any plans to build something in the realm of Pirates? Or are you a Castle boy all the way?
-
Are those cannons I see poking out of the eye sockets of the skull? Very sneaky! Is that another form of cannon sitting in the skull's mouth?

A realistic Port Town House created with LDD
Mister Phes replied to Joey Lock's topic in Pirate MOCs
The graphics are created in a program called LEGO Digital Designer which is a CAD based program. All the parts are predefined so it's more the structure he's done a good job with. You seriously considering to build in LDD Pirate Master?
