Did you cease that diorama? It would be a most useful backdrop for MOC ships.

NEW Shipyard Positions - recruiting selection finished
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
You will get access to the Classic-Pirates.com YouTube Channel and Group but you will need a Facebook account to edit the Facebook Page. -
I've added a poll. So is that blue coated mini-figure which appears in 6242 Soldier's Fort - is he supposed to be a new governor?

We're pleased to announce Wouwie has been promoted to Editor so congratulate him for his achievement! We're also opening up two new positions: Junior Assistant This role involves maintaining our Social Networking Outposts such as our soon to be launched YouTube Channel and Facebook page. You will be responsible to responding to comments and friend requests, as well as, doing some light secretarial work. This position could one day lead to Publication Relations Officier for a candidate with the right aptitude. Applicants are not required to be "juniors" as any age can apply, however if you're an adult with professional web/graphic design experience we can certainly put your skills to better use elsewhere. Video Editor We are seeking a Video Editor with reasonable video editing skills. You will be responsible for the creation of regular videos for the Classic-Pirates.com YouTube Channel which at first will be simple slideshow showcasing stunning MOCs and new Pirate LEGO sets as soon as their image use becomes public domain. This is a precursor to our much more ambitious endeavour which will be launched sometime in the future. How to Apply First check your schedule - can you afford 30 minutes per day? If the answer is "no" then these positions are not for you. To keep the workload fair we have weekly quotas which must be fulfilled so if you can't devote a little time each day there is no point applying. If you can afford the time then write a paragraph in this thread explaining why you are suitable. In addition, Video Editor applicants should provide links to examples of their work. APPLICATIONS CLOSED

I presume the saddle is meant to represent stocks, like I more mobile form of the picture below:

AHHHHH HA! That was the missing piece of information I needed - thanks Cap'n Blackmoor!

That's what we were yelling when those blasted Normans were attempting to invade. Anyway, methinks we might be straying from the topic here so let us return to the wonderful Hispabrick Magazine.

Which pirate captain do you like now?
Mister Phes replied to General Armendariz's topic in LEGO Pirates
Wouldn't silver or chrome be a more appropriate colour for a hook? -
Now that there are new Pirates sets...
Mister Phes replied to Capt. Bluebeard's topic in LEGO Pirates
When ya think about it Redbeard is one of the most iconic mini-figures of all time. Probably helped along by the LEGO Group frequently using his image to represent SYSTEM Pirates even after the original Pirate theme went out of production. Will Brickbeard supercede Redbeard? Only time will tell, but I personally think Brickbeard is just an updated version of Red Beard anyway. -
Which pirate captain do you like now?
Mister Phes replied to General Armendariz's topic in LEGO Pirates
Poor old Ironhook, now he's still living in the shadow of two captains instead of one! I think Brickbeard seems too much like an updated version of Roger/Beard, would be good if the LEGO Group could come up with something more unique for future Pirate sets. -
The ship wrecked pirate what he would look like...
Mister Phes replied to General Armendariz's topic in LEGO Pirates
Where does the mini-figure on the right originate from? (I.e. BEFORE he was ship wrecked) -
I thought the Batavia was Dutch - or have I misread your post?

Despite being historically inaccurate, I think the original Jolly Roger on the bicorne was suited to the Pirate Theme and added to its charm. However, the new Jolly Roger appearing on the 2009 bicornes (and flags and sails) looks a bit silly. It looks stylised to the point where the skull looks like that of a mutant, whereas the original design was spot on.

All these entries are stunning! But of course, being bias towards the Age of Sail Entry 4 - Dutch 18th century yacht. gets my vote.

Our dear old friend Armada Yoda - he's doing the Imerial Armada proud! The Indiana Jones Native Americans work very well with the Imperial Armada, much better than the islanders at least. It would be awesome to have Imperial Armada sets with natives or would some precieve that as somewhat insensitive? Maybe that's a discussion for the Return of the Spaniards thread.
-
Checkout this vignette by our old friend Armada Yoda. He's used the Native American mini-figures which appear in the Indiana Jones sets in vignette depicting Hernán Cortés conquering the Aztec Empire. Would it be awesome to have Imperial Armada sets with natives or would some precieve that as insensitive?

Specever, just because you create a thread in the forums on LEGO.com and one person replies doesn't mean the LEGO Group is going to take action on the suggestion or even be aware that you've suggested it.

I see that you're Spanish BlueBard - did you think the LEGO Group did well in representing your country's past with the Imperial Armada sub-theme?
