  1. Thanks for the offer! We're always open to people who are interested in contributing.
  2. It seems the recent LEGO Battles game has confirmed the blue coat mini-figure seen in 6242 Soldier's Fort is indeed Governor Broadside. Now if the red and blue coats were two different nations, (I.e. France and England as some seem to speculate) it seems curious the leader of another French be included in that set. However, it would make much more sense if blue and red were in fact the same nation. And as history has shown the English used both blue coats and red coats side by side.
  3. Fear not! There are over 60 different Pirate sets, however we haven't got around to adding them all to Classic-Pirates.com yet. They will be added in due time, but it all depends on the number of volunteers available to us.
  4. Finally the Jesuits are being acknowledge in MOC form! San Lucia is a very Hispanic type of name, so wouldn't the Imperial Armada be patrolling this missionary - or did the red coats cease it from them?
  5. Yes, indeed you are correct Rick - and his facial hair appears to somewhat unkempt compared to 20 years ago.
  6. Why aren't any no Imperial Armada Sentries guarding this Port Town! This is a huge security risk!
  7. Yes, a good old civil war right here in our Pirate Forum! He was Governor Broadside in the original Pirate theme and it appears he's still Governor Broadside in the new new Pirate theme. Only his uniform has been updated, which is to be expected because fashion does tend to change over the decades.
  8. Yep, time to get the paint out! The Imperial Navy can't have grotty yellowing boats. Ah, wait a minute... USS... No Imperialism after all...
  9. According to the LEGO Battles game that mini-figure is Broadside. So what if this proves the red coats and blue coats are the same facton, just different divisions? I.e. Red = marines. Blue = Navy.
  10. The first thing I did was go to Wikipedia and lookup Tomar. It has some mighty fine historic sites I see, like the Castle of Tomar:
  11. Well they after they've spent all their booty on drinking, gambling and the other kind of booty, there's not much left over for food.
  12. Don't suppose you happen to have a picture of the Northeast corner?
  13. What be the name of this book? I thought Pirates used sea turles to escape from islands which they'd been marooned on.
  14. Well Captain Zuloo usually isn't right ( at Captain Zuloo) So Tomar is a city in Portugal and it has its own LEGO event?
  15. I still must go to Big W and grab 20 or so Impulse sets at $4.88. Last time I went to Big W they still had the Impulse sets released this time last year, so unless the Pirate Impulse sets are selling unusually fast (which they should thanks Classic-Pirates.com ) I should have plenty of time.
  16. Everybody can assist by participating in the official 2009 AFOL Survey and let the LEGO Group know you they want more pirate sets. That probably depends on the regions. Different regions will have a different marketing approaches, like Spyder mentions there are commericals in his region but in my region LEGO isn't advertised on TV whatsoever. However there is merchandising like clothing, ice cube trays, keyrings, board games, etc. which despite being products themselves are also marketing tools. It seems you're doing better than here, it's only been the past couple of months that the Pirate Impulse sets have entered retail circulation - the larger Pirate Sets are nowhere in sight.
  17. Admiral M, you're doing a good job here! Even though your MOC isn't constructed from real bricks I think this is something that would be worth frontpaging on Classic-Pirates.com.
  18. You're doing a lot assuming there If you've been keeping up with the other threads you'll note there is a demand for the return for both blue coats and the Imperial Armada sub-themes. But why is it supposed to be soldiers vs pirates? You seem to have forgotten the Indigo Islanders and Imperial Armada sub-themes. Both were running simultaneously with the Pirates and Imperial Guards sub-themes in 1996. I don't understand why people assume something will violate this alleged non-violence policy. The specificaitons of this policy has never been available to the public and therefore the public only guesses what the policy entails. Supposedly the policy excludes set based around torture and modern warfare, but releasing a horse in a Soldier set is no different to releasing a horse in Castle or Western set.
  19. Maybe Evil dead can clarify the matter - for tiz a bit hard to tell which piece with the images provided.
  20. Well blow me down and call me Cat Gut Mary, you're indeed correct Captain Zuloo. I must say that technique is rather effective.
  21. I'd tend to disagree there, soldiers may not be finding land battles against Pirates but they would be fighting land battles against other nations. I.e. England versus Spain. Or maybe I've just played Sid Meier's Pirates too much in the past, but the game is a great example of how land battle and calavary fits into the world of pirates.
  22. Which sets do the jellyfish originate from? They seem to work well in submerged Pirate MOCs.
  23. How many troops would yer be fitting into one of these fine vessels?
  24. Yes, it's silly people do purposely create situations in which they can take legal action against others to get money, but that's the real world and it happens. Therefore the LEGO Group has to protect themselves against such people. I have no idea where this timeless story is. No, that's too generalised, but you specifically said "prevent their designers from interacting with consumers to build products that we want" in which case the designers don't need to interact with consumers because it's the role of the LEGO Ambassador to ascertain whether there is a high demand for blue coat/imperial ships. If there is sufficient demand then consumer information and ideas may be passed to the designers.
  25. Well yes, it is a very ornamental rock isn't it? I think I might get one for the corner of my garden.
