Thank you for sharing this information Ben. I'll have somebody post an announcement on the blog and send it through the Classic-Pirates.com Social Network.

A Virtual Pirate Server is a spoonerism on Virtual Private Server, commonly abbreviated to VPS. A VPS is the next step up from your typical hosting account where the Internet Provider allows you full control independent server control. Only they don't actually let you control their sever, they create a smaller virtual server within one of their servers.

The Classic-Pirates.com website has grown too big for its boots so we've moved it to one of those Virtual Pirate Servers. We haven't quite got moved in yet so if something not quite right (like missing images) we should get that fixed in the near future. Consider this new design an "intermediate upgrade" - there is a lot more to be added in the future. In the meantime feel free to leave your feedback.

Look what I just got - Report your latest Pirate LEGO acquisitions
Mister Phes replied to V()()D()()'s topic in LEGO Pirates
They're not quite that much! The most expensive on BrickLink right now is US$20.00 while the cheapest is around US$11.45. -
How do you keep your LEGO sets in good looking shape?
Mister Phes replied to Ivan K.'s topic in LEGO Pirates
That's not accurate in the slightest. Like Simonwillems mentioned, the pieces will discolour if exposed to bright sunlight for extended periods of time. I've purchased second hand white bricks that were so discoloured they're almost tan! -

No, you'll just be keelhauled :pir-skull: How much did they set you back and where did you acquire them from? -

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Mister Phes replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yeah, considering the average price is now US $412.00. That's something you're better off asking BrickLink.- 502 replies

It depends on the set, its condition and where you're buying it from. For example: On Bricklink, yes, I would expect a MISB Skulls Eye Schooner to increase in value over time but a used second hand one on eBay is an entirely different matter. The thing I'd like to know about Peeron is: a) Where are they getting thier data from? b) How often are they updating it. That US$66 might have been there 10 years now.

Digital Painting - Brickbeard versus Broadside 2009
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
It also looks as though there is a Caribbean Clipper type ship half concealed behind Brickbeard's bicorne. -

Maybe this one is worthy of the frontpage? -
I stumbled across this on DeviantArt, created by a fellow by the name of ~Emosktr also known as Klaus Shmidheiser.

You would... Yeah, you're right. I should get into the spirt of this thread.

Yeah, it looks more like a photo put through a texture filter like Virutal Painter than actual painting.

Old Vs. New weapons, is there any difference in color or material?
Mister Phes replied to B-Lister's topic in LEGO Pirates
The new cannons are a more metallic shade of grey... -
I'd recommened a revision of the information as the pirate-talk angle makes it difficult to read.

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Mister Phes replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
I can answer question 1 for you: Contact the seller and let them know the pieces are missing, sometimes sellers accidentially leave parts out and still have them, other times you're not so lucky but it can't hurt to ask. And in the best case for this scenario, sometimes if the seller does possess the missing parts, they'll send a few extra parts as an apology.- 502 replies

Final Minifig thoughts on Pirates '09 (includes 10210)
Mister Phes replied to Diamondback's topic in LEGO Pirates
There is no list as such, but the LEGO Battles website has a characters section. To find it, go to LEGObattles.com, click on the Characters link in the menu, a box will appear with the minifigure charaters, next scroll down and you'll see thumbnails of Pirate minifigures. Also according to this website the governor's daughter is Camilla. -
Final Minifig thoughts on Pirates '09 (includes 10210)
Mister Phes replied to Diamondback's topic in LEGO Pirates
According to the LEGO Battles game, one variation of this minifigure is the latest incarnation of Governor Broadside. Since Pirate LEGO isn't "canonical" this doesn't necessarily mean the name is intended for the physical minifigure as well. -
The extraordinary work of the irrepressibly talented staff! Is that a sonic boom coming out of the cannon in SlyOwl's entry?

I can't really say. Our LEGO Ambassador is the one who communicates with the LEGO Community Team and will be delivering this information to them, so he'd know more about the inner workings than me. -
Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Mister Phes replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hold up! How did you get 80 UK pounds for the ship and postage? On the auction you've linked it says £50.00 for the ship (with Buy It Now) and £70.00 for the postage. So that's £120 all up. For £70 postage you'd be much better off buying one in the UK to reduce postage costs. Postage should cost under £20 within the UK, plus Pirate LEGO sets in the UK are [usually] cheaper than say the US and Australia.- 502 replies
