  1. Indeed, exactly what is the LEGO Group's motives here? They're primarily a toy manufacturer for children upto age 12, so do they really need a presence at this event given the majority of their core demographic perhaps doesn't understand what it represents? Or is this merely for the benefit of AFOLs? I.e. publicity to demonstrate LEGO is inclusive of all? Or Do they intend to reflect certain values in their future products and marketing?
  2. Hi New Guy! Are you also a drummer and a dad... just by any chance?
  3. Well this is indeed a delightful wreck! It's got a nice colour palette yet doesn't look too outlandish.
  4. A college essay on LEGO Pirates?
  5. @kreimkoek, you've captured the essence of Andy's room nicely so your MOC has made the Eurobricks frontpage!
  6. You mean there are LEGO Ideas books which have been forgotten in the sands of time?
  7. Eurobricks member kreimkoek brings us his delightful LEGO recreation of Andy's Room from the Toy Story movies. You've got a friend in Eurobricks so GO TO Andy's Room at ONCE! In the LEGO Licensed Theme Forum.
  8. You mean there's an expanded universe of MOC story?
  9. That perhaps varies from region to region. So what about something as simple as this?
  10. You're welcome! Damn... I wonder what we actually measuring...
  11. We were still measuring to ensure you're worthy of that status.
  12. Indeed, but that wasn't the point I'm making as LEGO minifigures often have stereotypical characteristics. Obviously most LGBTQ+ people look indistinguishable from non-LGBTQ+ people, but stereotypes still exist, so is there a reason to exclude them in LEGO form? Would there be a problem if the LEGO Group released a Drag Queen minifigure in one of its future LEGO Minifigure Series? And to that point, not all drag queens are LGBTQ+...
  13. As you're the builder, you can also create the backstory of what has been happening. So maybe the blue coats and red coats made a temporary alliance... or maybe they have a trade agreement... or maybe the red coats and really blue coats in disguise... the possibilities are endless!
  14. What about in their products? How could this be achieved without negative stereotyping? Has a drag queen ever officially been represented in minifigure form?
  15. Welcome back, @Littleworlds! Are you aware you are eligible for the special Eurobricks Ladies Group?
  16. This is LEGO Pirates, not a 100% accurate historic recreation - creative liberties are to be expected. Besides, Pantelis hasn't stated the relation between the two factions so whether they've allied is merely assumption.
  17. Welcome to Eurobricks, @Gray Gear! The LEGO Technic and Model Team forum awaits you...
  18. Good work, @pantelis! Thank you for posting the nicer photos, they have certainly improved the presentation of your MOC. And thank you to @Roadmonkeytj for posting this MOC on the Eurobrick frontpage - this was his first ever frontpage post and he's done a fine job! Also, an honourable mention to our other new recruit, @Faladrin for his input and assistance with the frontpage post. Overall, it's been a superb team effort between builder and new team!
  19. Hello Scriba and welcome to Eurobricks! Your AT-Al reminds me of something from the LEGO Time Cruisers theme...
  20. From my understanding these prototypes were from the late 80's... or am I experiencing the Mandela effect and mis-remembering because I can't remember where I obtained that information. So I assumed the archive file date referred to when the file was created, not the prototypes. That said if we look at the castle prototype we can observe BURPs which weren't available until 1993, thus proving I may be crazy!
  21. My assumption was Europa evolved into pirates... Europa on its own wasn't distinct enough from Castle to warrant it becoming a new theme, nor were the Soldiers were in the right era for Europa to be a sub-theme of Castle. Somewhere along the line the LEGO Group decided keep the soldiers but use them in a setting which differentiated them Castle, so pirates were the most suitable choice. But that's entirely my speculation.
  22. This MOC is well executed, @TAFOL so I've posted it on the Eurobricks frontpage. So if someone were to kiss the Frog King, would he turn into a handsome king or would the person turn into a frog?
