The Golden Medallion – looking for a Photoshop expert
Mister Phes replied to jodawill's topic in LEGO Pirates
So now "Gold Medallion" is done... any thoughts on the scans for the unreleased sequel "Island of Island"? -
You mean the Armada Flagship because of its white hull? Ship's design aside... do you think the ship undermines the scale of the fort? I.e. the fort would look much larger without the ship.

Nice mod, @Elusys Ra Arwal! So nice in fact, it's been posted on the Classic Pirates Facebo ok Page.

There is a public group which has not yet been utilized because the forum fulfills the same purpose. But it's there for those who may want to start using it. -
It's a very fine update to a set classic! We posted this on our Facebook page a couple of days. You also have some pretty good unique creations on your Instagram which we hope you'll share in our forum one day.

lego ideas [LEGO IDEAS] Spanish Galleon Warship
Mister Phes replied to leafan's topic in Pirate MOCs
It's most likely a combination of factors, but I'd suspect it's largely because LEGO Pirates aren't as popular as submissions relating to LEGO Town. LEGO Town (or whatever it's contemporary equivalent is) has been enjoying yearly set releases since the 80s and this really helps to maintain interest levels. Meanwhile LEGO Pirates gets a new wave of sets every 6 years plus a few relevant releases during the interim However, that's not enough to maintain the same level as interest as LEGO Town or any perennial theme. -

Baby Teeth strikes again! He's such a talented ship builder. @Paradosis and @Mencot this would be a good MOC to post on the Facebook Page. -
@General Magma, these are nice shot of the crews and minifigures but the photography is very dark. So the foreground/subjects are not congruent with the bright, sunny backgrounds, The contrast really stands out. You'd benefit from a soft light source facing the minifigs to brighten them up, and in doing so you might also achieve higher image quality. These days you can acquire (providing there aren't distribution issues) cheap, compact LED lights with a variety of brightness settings. That can easily be placed off-camera to provide the light where it's needed. Adding a little bit of extra light can make a huge difference.

Aye, I'm true agenda is to observe who uses Facebook and then ask if anybody would like to help update the Classic Pirates Facebook Page. Nothing too challenging. Mainly it's just copy and pasting images from the forum directly into Facebook. Very easy if you use a desktop web browser. -
