  1. So, Jipay, Crowley and now Clecle are dirty crooks (in the story of course). If only we had found the letter. I think we could have figured out the lockbox had I gone with my original plan and headed to the dining room to check for clues. Once I knew who had killed Crowley though I thought I should have her put behind bars before she showed up and killed me off for knowing too much. :o If the only clue for the kitchen was the contact then why was the knife on the floor and the light on when the EBDs first showed up? Did Jipay go to jail for his criminal acts? So many questions. So few answers. Thanks tons for the mystery Brickster. It was a good run. Thanks BJ for the mansion and the pictures. I think they help more than just words can. Thanks to my fellow EB Detectives. We shall now move on to new mysteries. So long, Crowley mansion, can't say I will miss you.
  2. The pirate theme isn't merely limited to ships!!! Behold... Eldorado Fortress This is practically a sea side castle. Anyway, the point is the pirate theme IS just a versatile as the castle theme if people researched and used their imagination. Whatever the Castle theme has the pirate theme can do it with a Caribbean twist! No nerrrr! I'm going to have to post more MOCs... That's right bring up the Eldorado Fortress. That is always a safe example as there are so few people who dislike the set. Pirates can be versitile but it is LEGO's fault they are not. Even with imagination Pirates aren't able to achieve the romanticized ideals knights of chivalry possess. Even if you could, then Robin hood and his trusty yeomen swing onto the scene and reaffirm the pure goodness of castle. If that isn't enough look to the likes of fantasy and dragons. Few pirates can claim to have battled anything more dangerous than a sea monster. My first LEGO love was pirates. I soon got into castle and have been hooked since. Though I believe in diversity. i use many pirates in my MOCs . . . as castle slaves. :D I try. LEGO spammers of the world unite!
  3. That stuff is like pure honey. I like the 66 version a lot. But the car that splits is brilliant looking. Now if only LEGO will release something like that. :oD Nice work.
  4. Indeed welcome! :-D Have a great time carving out that niche. You will find many SW fans here and a few fans of just about everything else. Have fun and play nice.

It cost the company many tens of thousands for license fees, new molds, artist, designers, set builders, and factory workers to make one series of sets. LEGO also produces set at least six months to a year before they are sold. It would be a huge financial lose for LEGO to dump the line. It will happen period. I heard a little extra about them and it is happening. Not only will LEGO make this line, I think based on the new dino and HP sets they will have plenty of parts and be at a good price. Look at the graveyard set or the dino humvee. Those sets are awesome and packed full of parts for a reasonable price. Now imagine the batmobile chasing down a crook or villan with 300 parts for $19.99. :oD Sweet thought huh? ;)
  7. Aaargh pirates can lick my blood stained boots! Castles, knights, lords and ladies, peasants, feasts, tournament and jest. What better life can we know. Castle all the way! ;)
  8. Chill out Jin, we are a friendly community and not a highly restrictive site where members need to abide by a really strict COC !! So far we never had a problem with contests, so there is no need to ENFORCE any rules :| I will also say that no one has broken any rules yet either. ;) If someone entered a happy tree into the monster contest it would not win a prize, unless it is a happy tree filled with Teletubbies and tubbytoast. *sick* Don't worry about it at all. If something needs handling it always gets it. The admins around here walk softly and carry big sticks. That and the fact that since I am footing the bill for this contest nobody will walk off with a prize who didn't earn it. :D
  9. Um . . . I like bionicle parts. ;) The hard plastic ones in shades of gray and dark colors. Not the bendy, flexible, soft, or wierd colored parts (mostly). I dislike the sets . . . all of them, so if you have to like bionicle as they are, then subtract one vote from my age group. 24 A new mecha with bionicle is on its way!

That is the Mad magazine guy. batman doesn't look like that. Besides the first batmobile was a hot rod that was rigged to spew flame out of the back. I think Languages is right we are getting the new cartoon Batman. At least if we do it will have the classic colors instead of all black. Hopefully we will get the full roster, Alfred, Robin, Bat Girl, Joker, Riddler, Cat Woman, and so on. I wouldn't mind some of the more inventive villans either. Scarecrow, Mr Freeze and Bane would all be welcome additions. As long as Bane doen't look like Hagrid or has only one movable part on him.
  11. I like it. It may have been a little better with a mountain dew windscreen instead of blue as the lime and other similar color bits. This has a very "clunky" fighter sort of feel to it. With a boxy shape (no wings), four guns and the two small thrusters and one large thruster it just seems made for combat. Not sure I understand the docking system though, does it clamp on or does it get clamped onto? I would think it is clamped onto. Good job. Veteran space builders are overrated. ;)
  12. And from now on it'll only be mocs you've seen on Brickshelf, IntheBricks and this site if they don't start taking contest theme / rule enforcement seriously. Seriously, man... centaurs, mecha, dragons, samurai, cyclops, Bionicle Rakshi in a HALLOWEEN contest? Yeah, I kinda' got pissed and left BZ. I'll go back if they can do 3 BBC (Bionicle Based Creation) contests in a row without making my brain pop out and roll underneath the refrigerator due to vague contest parameters and disrespect for those who do things right. So, do you guys have rules here? I've been looking around for some kind of guidelines on language and image use. ... ...I get rowdy sometimes. :D Welcome to EB. I think you will like it here. We post in respect of each other and we remember that many of the people on this board are within the 12-16 range. Many are new to LEGO and many are coming out of a dark age and are improving there skills. Respect gets it done. As far as contests just click on the link in my sig. to find out more about the contest I am holding. You have about a week left to get an entry in. I tried to be strict enough to provide structure but loose enough to provide freedom in building. The contest has basically three rules -you can't steal others work (literally copy their designs) -it can't be a minifig (it must be a built monster) -it has to be a monster There are a number of categories, pick one (or five) and build something. Enjoy yourself here. This community is pretty laid back.
  13. The knife though it has a blunt end capable of delivering a heavy blow, does not seem likely as the person weilding it as such would have to be extremely strong. We know that they were not extremely strong because they had to drag a thin elderly man to move him about. It wasn't the rope ;) The lead pipe was dust covered and though it could have been setup to look like that it is my thought that the murderer didn't know how to get into the attic without the RC poem. Thus they were never beyond the library which left out both the pipe and the wrentch. Also, the fact that the greasy wrentch had no finger prints or any ohter clue with it. The revolver could have been used to pistol whip him but again I don't think Clecle knew where it was hidden. Even if she did, I think that due to the murder weapon missing it gave more emphasis that it was indeed the weapon. Actually, I wondered at this and contemplated acusing Darkie for a while as she had traveled (which mean France at some point most likely) and knew about the Egyptian artifacts and what they were worth. See also wanted to protect the valuable jars that may have hidden clues. I thought that the food if it is the wet canned variety might have been used as chum for fishing or to draw away sharks from the Barbep treasure but there are no sharks near here that I could think of and it was dry. Then I remembered that Clecle was bringing her ferret, which eats a food similar to what a cat eats or can eat what a cat eats as it is high in protien. This was the final nail in the coffin for Clecle. I really don't know. I had some theories but not much to go on. My thought on it now is that Clecle is not alone in her guilt even if she did kill him. The fact that the Egyptian clues point to the word CLUE (if that is the word) says that someone who knows about Egypt is involved as Crowley said "they" when he referred to the noise. He also was probably the one involved in the legal negotiations to try and get the ownership of the house to Clecle. But really I don't know for sure. Just guessing. I think Jipay was her accomplis. Additional valuables and a key for the chest in the attic? His summer wardrobe. ;) Actually I had hoped that this contained the Barbep gold and that the EB detectives could use it to build a headquarters with a spa center and massive LEGO building room. For training purposes only of course. ;) Yes, is it in the house, I am not so sure now. If no one else cares to will you reveal the whole truth and the missing info of it all? I had a lot of fun doing this. I am excited to participate in another and host one of my own. I think I will take a break from whichever one is next if it happens immediately though. This was very tough on my brain! *wacko*
  14. But, I am a boy! Well a man in most cultures. Will you reveal the rest of the secrets of the mystery or must we continue to figure everything out. I am a completest and must know all the details.
  15. Brickster I would like to attempt to solve the murder is there any special way to go about this? I think once the killer is put behind bars or interogated then we can figure out the little details and wrap up all the loose ends.
  16. Ras is still the reigning champion with 54 posts in his welcome email. Darkie and Mel are tied for second. Big K here isn't far behind ;)
  17. BSB is the crowning standard by which all other LEGO ships have failed to match or best. It's elegant beauty defines everything (non-imperial) LEGO pirate stands for. I will not cheapen its greatness with words and instead I will only say this- *wub* *wub* *wub* :$ ;)

  19. Don't thank me yet, i might be barking up the wrong tree entirely. We need to wait for Brickster. The mystery is nearly solved but I need to know just a few more things. I really want to see what is in the safe in the cabinet and the contents of the chest upstairs. The cat food it still puzzling me though *wacko* cat litter I might be able to explain but cat food?

the soup was good . . . Does that mean no more leaks ever?
  21. I like the wings on this a lot! They look very cool and greebled. I may have to use a similar design in something soon. I think you have a strong likeness to the art concept. Well done with that. The fact that you built this from only Mini sets (except for the windscreen) is what makes this really stand out. Somebody with more parts and specialty pieces may have been able to build this more accurately or whatever but a lot of people wouldn't be able to get the likeness you did with just minis. *y*

    Bug

Nice legs for support. I always liked the three legged creations. And the name fits it perfectly. It reminds me of a bettle or mantis with all the sharp angles. The transparent guns/rockets also help the overall shape stay bug-like and still have weapons for defense. An excellent first space MOC.
  23. It is a monster contest. I think you should look at making one of the monsters in the bible. Levithan in Job, the dragon in Revelation, or Goliath in 1st Samuel would all be good choices. Or because you like starwars maybe you could make a monster from that.

Sadly, yes :( I hope they don't. I still dream of an all yellow minis LEGO world. . The batcave will be an "indoor" set I am guessing and will have no walls. Much like the HP sets inside the castle. "You know what this means" "Holy bones and flesh tones Batman! "To the batcave Robin!"
