Buy 2009 LEGO Pirates from S@H or Toys R Us
Erdbeereis replied to General Armendariz's topic in LEGO Pirates
Unbelievable isn't it? That's the same price as the Cannon Battle, with 1 less minifig and tons fewer pieces. -

Only at LEGO stores, or in other stores like Target and Wal-Mart as well? -
This is a really nice small set. Although I agree that it seems more like a small digger than an actual tractor. Digger: Tractor: My vote is for a name change! Anyway, thanks for the great review!

Great news! Just in time for Christmas. Hopefully members in the rest of the world get them soon too! EDIT: I just noticed that the Shipwreck Hideout isn't there either... At least TRU has that. -
Castle Advent Calendar - traditionalists
Erdbeereis replied to brickzone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I waited until today to open my Castle and City calendars, but I also read all of the reviews to get more excited about them. Can't wait to get to the days with the maiden jester and witch... -
THE OLD Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List
Erdbeereis replied to The Middleman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Add +1 for Zorro3999. Great communication with a more than complicated saga that I might have to post sometime. -
Very exciting news! The set looks quite nice. It's not ground-breaking, but it's a nice looking OT set, so I'll definitely buy it. Hopefully the lovely Chrome won't be extremely difficult to acquire. Thanks for the review Ras!

That's a stunning minifig, and I'm sure it looks even better in person! Did you get it because of the pre-order? I've never actually heard of pre-ordering LEGO sets... I do hope that it will be easy enough to find here in the U.S., but if not it's not a big deal, just a minifig after all, albeit a beautiful chrome-black one.

That's so much better Oky Wan Kenobi! My favorite addition has to be that great chandelier, it really adds a lot. Nice job with the water on the ground in the bath area as well. The addition of the red and white carpet is perfect, and matches the room nicely. Lastly, the dark red floor of the burning room looks much better than the old purple one. Great improvements!

1-I saw that blood, I though it looked very nice and some more bodies like that would be good. 2-No problem about not tiling the entry, it looks great as is. 3-Carrots aren't, but lettuce is... 4-No problem, it still looks beautiful!

I believe they are from a Viking set, amongst others. Ah yes, here: Bricklink part entry.

Great raffle idea! Another thing to look forward to each day besides my Castle and City advent calendars. Once again, Eurobricks proves it's the best website in the world!

I beleive the Eurobricks server re-sizes everything above 640 x 480 automatically, so that's probably why. You're fine for the contest though.

That's just a beautiful entry Exotrator. There are so many things that are great, so I'll take it in sections. The Village Simply put, the buildings are perfect in my opinion. I have never seen such nice roofs in a MOC, the colors are simply gorgeous, especially the dark orange. The plants climbing up the walls add a lot both in contrast and in design, and the battle in the village is well done. I like the combination of tan and dark tan for the sand. The Water Lovely SNOT water. Your little waves really add a lot and look great, although it might have looked nice to include them on the left side as well. The bridge that crosses over to the fort is perfect with all of the little detailing and curves. The Fort This is a wonderful fort. It has so many subtle details like the cannon holes in the wall and the great dark green leaves growing up the side. My favorite part of it has to be the bell. The arch over it is stunning. There's lots of exciting action going on in the whole entry. Lastly, great work with tiling all of the base, it really takes your entry to the next level. =========================================================== There's really nothing wrong with your entry, but here are a few suggestions that could make it even better. A few improvement ideas: 1) The rocks around the fort look great, but I feel that they are a bit boxy, as they are in a perfect square. I think it would look much better if they were more uneven. 2) Your waves look great, but it would be nice if you made them on the left side of the water as well. ==================================================================== Your entry is just brilliant, and is certainly one of my favorite large ones. Next time though, you might want to post it a few days ahead of the deadline just in case. Fantastic work and good luck!

It's great to see that your entry made it in! I already mentioned almost all of the things I like about your entry, so I'll just give you some improvement ideas. A few improvement ideas: 1) I feel that your entry could benefit from a little more cruelty. Perhaps some bloody bodies and battles. 2) The water looks a bit rough in some areas. I know you probably wanted to give an effect of choppy water and I think that it looks great, but I think smoothing out a few more of the studded areas would improve it a lot. 3) Some more animal life would be great. Maybe parrots and crabs. 4) One thing that would add a lot would be to add a few palm trees in some spots. 5) I think your ship could use a few more details. Something like barrels on the deck among other things would be good. ========================================================= Overall I think you did a very good job with this entry Olog. Good luck in the contest!

I agree with everything KimT said, but I want to add one more thing. Next summer we seem to be getting a pretty good amount of OT sets, some of which we have waited a long time for (Endor Base). I think it's good to have a nice mix, and remember, it still has to be profitable for TLC. However, the are still tons of possibilities for sets that we haven't seen yet. For example this ship I would love to see.

Here's a comparison for you guys. Old version: New version: Frankly, I think the new one looks much better. A lot more detail and brighter color.
-
That's just fantastic... The minifig leg crosses are superb. Great landscaping as well. Fantastic MOC DNL!

Probably because they are hosted on Blogspot rather than a photo hosting website like Brickshelf. I would highly recommend creating a Brickshelf account, as it's very easy to deep-link from there, just follow the tutorial. Hope this helps!

That's lovely MOC Olog! The beach is very nice with the SNOT waves and your buildings are also superb. My favorite though is the sinking ship effect, you executed it really well. Your little tree in the back right looks pretty as well. It's a shame that you missed the deadline, but at least we still get to see this great MOC.

It's the same with mine. It's nice though that this happened, as I like the new version much better. Another thing I noticed was that the stormtroopers are the new version as well, except with blank flesh heads rather than black. Very interesting...

Yes, the pieces are the following: Regular blue legs, a cavalry torso turned backwards, and a sort of blue robot head turned backward.
-
Greetings! Here's just a little photo, (I guess you could call it a MOC) of a little idea I had. Presenting, the Blue Fig Group! Thanks!
-
Fantastic work everyone! There really are a lot of great entries, and many thanks to the Classic-Pirates staff for hosting such a wonderful contest. Good luck guys!

The improvements make your entry look so much better Vadim! My favorite is the little straw roof on the top of the tower, it really finishes it off nicely. It's also much improved in the minifig area, now that there are only pirate themed figs. Very good work and good luck!
