After receiving the message from the white turban, Gaius went to the fish market in Barqa. After locating one of the best fisherman in the area, he bought a bushel of the best of this fisherman's latest catch which he then had delivered to his small boat at the docks. He then navigated up river and looked for the secret entrance to the king of Arkbri's lair and soon after he arrived at his destination. The king's gaurds were hesitant to let him dock his boat but after seeing his load of fish let the king know of his arrival. "What brings you here with this load of fish?" asked the king of Gaius. "I have a favor to ask of you," Gaius replied. "I am in urgent need to find Ageven and have this letter delivered to him. As I know you have eyes all along the Arkbri river, I would beg of you to help me in this matter. I am willing to pay a large reward in fish now as well as after the letter has been delivered unopened and Ageven's reply has been brought to me." "Surely you have messengers yourself that could do this task," commented the king. "Why ask me to do it instead?" "This matter is a matter of life and death," Gaius replied. "My men might be watched and ambushed while noone watches your men." "Fair enough," replied the king, "but I will require three of these bushels of fish at the same quality after my men have completed this mission." "Done." And so a letter was soon delivered to Ageven.

Well I probably won't be able to enter anything for this as Ska gave me another assignment which I'm actually having fun with....

Thanks guys! Thanks! I never finished this because I wasn't satisfied with the design... This was supposed to be the gatehouse for the actual castle. I should be posting a section of my replacement castle/fortress probably sometime next week and I will let you judge whether I made the right call and ditching this project in favor of my present one.

Well I started my online Lego thing with CC (the blog, not the forum, in fact I really didn't know they had a forum until after I joined GoH). I find it hard to find things over there unless you know what your looking for and the forum setup here at EB is so much better imo even with the server interuptions . I'v gone over there a few times to see if I had picked the right place to join but even though they have soem great MOCers like Mark of Falworth for instance, I always get lost over there. There was another one called Legends of Bricktom that Si mentioned but it seems that that one ha been disbanded already. Double post but this was posted while I was posting so I just felt like saying it. We at Kaliphlin are boycotting our leaders absence... so no more Kaliphlin colors until he returns... -
^ what he said... great job!

Kalores castle bore the brunt of the elemental attack in Barqa. And even now its crumbling walls are still being eaten away by the giant climbing vines brought here by the earth elementals. Even more a tragedy it is because the castle was only completed a short time before the elemental attack. Originally intended to be a stronghold for the Knights of Aslan, it is now a constant reminder of Revolword's madness. This has been sitting in my LEGO room for quite a while now. As I needed parts I would scavenge pieces off this build until it came to look like this. I figured since I never really photographed this build, I should at least catch the essence of what it was before I take it apart for good.

Bishop Jamon begins recruiting for the Knights of Aslan.

Thanks! This used to be my crowning gem of an army and in a way still is as it probably is my largest faction. I however have put together another group howbeit not nearly in such a quantity but the individual soldiers are now my favorites. Thanks! Hmmm, what is happenning there? I was wondering if anyone would comment on that... Thanks! With all their weapons and armor they seem to be a bit more stable than normal, so it really wasn't that difficult to stand them up. Of course putting them away was the easiest part.... -

Altan the Bold had begun preparation for the mission and represents the House of Kalores. (His fate is entirely up to you) -
Epic destruction! Excellent portrayal! Spread the word that death awaits those who surrender to Revolwords forces. Die with honor on the battlefield rather than like an animal in a butcher shop...

Nice addition to the story... The minifig plates work out pretty well for the roof and the upside down bottle for the lamp looks pretty cool too!

Having received a large shipment of weapons and armor from a generous patron, Bishop Jamon now sends three of his most trusted followers to recruit the most skilled warriors of Historica. He has already assembled a small army but wishes to see if he cannot bolster his army even more with the best that Historica can produce. Rumor has it that when his recruiters return, he plans to march east.

Cool, more info for the guide! I'll copy and paste that to my guide file later. I really need to update that, but with my builds I haven't had the time. Once I get a major portion of my planned builds finished, I think I will take a break from building and work on the guide which is pretty much just photography and typing... and maybe by that time my outdoor photoshop will be ready which will make the photography so much less a chore.. I really don't have any complaints about the MOC, your style seems to gear more toward storytelling than elaborate MOCing and that is fine with me. The figure posing and expression on this was done well.

Masa was quite impressed by his visit to this gardening masterpiece. In fact he even considered adding a similar feature to his tent but on second thought decided the weight would be more than his tent could support. So maybe if/when he ever settles down, he will invite Uridius Dratiphe to instal a similar feature at his home.

Gaius Kaleci- trusted Kalores liegeman and Overseer of the Kalores estate recieved the letter from the man in the white turban. With a heavy heart he returned to his chambers. "Today yet another of Historica's heros has fallen, and still I have no word from Mikel," he muttered to himself. He stared out the small window of his residence for a few moments and then turned and left the room. He knew what Mikel would have done had he recieved the letter so he began preparations to ensure Merith's safety. To be continued.... -
Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread
Mike S replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
I use baseplates for a base. I haven't ever found the need for a stronger base because I tend to make my builds strong enough on their own. Some of my more recent smaller MOCs bases are built entirely out of 2x2 L shape plates. The builds I am currently working on are using 32x32 baseplates which I think work best for modular builds. (All my current builds are modular and are designed to snap together. My own modular castle ) -

Yes, I wanted to leave more options open to each individual GoH member. A story always needs some form of conflict and although Victor is not my favorite villain, I think that it would strengthen the current plot if he actually was invincible from any guild member. If he gets killed off now, it really makes everyone seem kind of foolish, especially the King and the guild leaders for letting him capture Cedrica so easily. (The king and the guild leaders can keep all of historica in check but not Victor, surely means that Historica needs an artifact or being as powerful as the helm and as smart as Victor, he did trick the king and the guild leaders so he evidently is brilliant as well as powerful) And since a villain is always needed, why not keep him around? Also the King must redeem himself as he is called Darconius the Unyielding otherwise he would have been known in the history of Historica as Darconius the Useless. As for war, I don't think there would be any open war, more like little skirmishes. I tried to set the story up so Guild members could choose to join Victor, King Darconius, or remain neutral. And the guilds would begin to shift from territorial entities to professional entities. The new power (the first elves) as well as Darconius and Victor would be controlled by the GoH moderators. The new power would be more of a neutral force seeking only to maintain a certain ballance in Historica against the evil of Victor. -
Nice MOC Ska! I like the aquaduct and really like the hut. Two possible points of improvement though, 1st the aquaduct should probably be level across the middle unless you intended the water to be flowing in from two seperate sources; 2nd If the hut had maybe two brick high walls around the roof I think it would even be better.

Ok so I finally think I might have come up with a story that sort of makes sense of the Revolword saga to conclude Historica's first chapter... What do you all think of it? The army of the Four Guilds began the assault on Cedrica castle now held by Victor Revolword. But alas fortune did not shine on them. The walls of Cedrica castle could not be breached. What remained of the army of the Four Guilds returned to their homes in defeat. (MOC: Assault on Cedrica) Victor reveled in his victory, proclaiming himself Emperor of Historica and sent word throughout all of Historica; whoever surrendered and accepted Victor as their Emperor, would be spared as well as being allowed to keep their lands. Many in Historica accepted Emperor Victor’s offer and began turning on each other, accusing each other of treachery against Emperor Victor, some for personal gain and others in fear of the wrath of their new rulers. But hope for Historica was not entirely lost. King Darconius still lived. He had been away from Cedrica when Victor had taken the city. It was the King’s double that had been to the theatre that fateful day and it was he, not the king that still languished in the dungeons of Cedrica. (MOC: King’s double in the dungeons)[indoor] But a heavy weight of guilt lay upon the king for he felt he was the cause for Historica’s fall. If he had not sought the legendary crystals, Historica would still be in peace. He was determined to bring peace to Historica once and for all, so with his most trusted liegemen, he made his way to Varlyrio to continue the resistance. Little did he know that all that had happened was part of the ancient druids’ plan, and that Victor’s power had awakened an ancient people- the ones who had given the druids their knowledge. So it was that once again a forgotten land was revealed. (MOC: Gates of Aden) -

The size limit is for people like me that don't know how to set size limitations on themselves and build huge MOCs that would never make the time deadline. Personally I would have been happy if they had limited the size to a max of 16x16. I just can't seem to get in the groove for this challenge... I keep thinking up different scenerios. Right now I'm on one where Victor Revolword becomes the evil Emperor of Historica and the guilds become individual rebel clans operating on individual agendas. -

Looking good! If you use it for the challenge then you would have to cut it down quite a bit. Max size limit is 48x48 I believe. -
Nice MOC! Really like the walls, snow on the roof and the smoke and of course the awesome interior!
