Guild name: Skislandor – It is not known when sentient races first settled on the floating rock islands that are now known to collectively be called Skislandor. It is also not known what force holds the giant rocks up in the sky. However it must be noted that the rock islands only float over open water. The rocks themselves vary in size from a few cubic meters to several million cubic meters. Guild location: Skislandor is a group of clustered islands in the sky over the sea south of Nocturnus and east of Kaliphlin. (credit to Thrashq4g for map outline) Capitol and Ruler: Qili is the capitol of Skislandor and is made up of a cluster of large floating rocks. It is located above a large group of islands off the western coast of Kaliphlin Skislandor is ruled by Asho Kalani who has only recently ascended to the throne after his father, Akos Kalani abdicated due to old age. Unique characteristics: resilient at great heights, excellent at taming flying creatures. Color Scheme: Blue and Yellow – blue representing the sky and yellow representing the sun which due to Skislandor's location, is usually unobstructed throughout the day. He is a new leader and hopes to end Skislandor's age old policy of isolation. However many of the leading houses oppose his plans to place Skislandor on the map. Kalani believes that Skislandor cannot remain in isolation forever and that now is the right time to begin incorporating itself in the affairs of the rest of Historica. There sure are some very nice entries here.... So here is my entry: Gwenyver, the princess warrior- and her story... There once was a princess Who was quite rambunctious And though she did her best She often failed the test. Each night she would sneak out To the soldiers hangout And listen to wild tales Of monstrous beasts with tails, Of heros of battle, And men of the saddle. She listenend to stories Of dragons and fairies, And each time she returned To the palace so grand, She would dream of living In lands that were stunning, Packed full of adventure And many a creature Beyond the dictation Of royal tradition. Then as she came of age Suiters came to engage. But with their fake glamour All they did was bore her, And she dreamed once again Of a tree speckled glen, A monster's chilling den, And a dark and gloomy fen. But then a thought took hold That could not be controlled. Why spend her life dreaming? When she could be roaming In mountains imposing, In jungles eroding, And caverns foreboding. So she donned a short skirt, Cut a dress for a shirt, Then went to the fletcher For a bow and quiver. And then she started out Without a well marked route To find the lands of lore In which she could explore. Her name is Gwenyver The princess warrior.

Having serious problems with eurobricks today, which has caused this double post...

I'm interested in building an Engineering room (architectural and war machine) and/or possibly one or two rooms for the war academy- Military strategy and/or Archery.

Glad to hear you you won't have to worry about landlords selling anymore... And aesome news about your LEGO room. I was thinking along these lines as well. I think it would be great to see some more interiors. I don't know what the minimum size is for a free build to count, but I was thinking that if we were all given a certain size to work with that everyone would be able to work with, it might inspire more creativity and quality. I'm also about maxed out on projects since my projects have been very large so I may end up not even participating. I keep having to remind myself I need to finish my ship (actually 2 ships), pyramid, and castle- in that order. With the guild mini challenge, I got sidetracked once again so I have several builds either built or in progress as this got bumped to the top of my to do list. But I always like to see what others come up with. robuko's The Auction seems like a prime example for a University MOC. Looking forward to your free build! Your builds are always top quality! Nice job and goes well with th erest of your wall! My only critique would be that the small top tower needs a support (single stud beam or something) for the 4th corner.

I think I might be taking a break from the Kaliphlin Times for a while. I have a few more ideas but I would like to finish a few MOCs that have been sitting around. I really need to sit down and organize my collection but not sure if I want to waste my time at it. My son will be turning 2 in a few months and loves to "play" with LEGO. However his idea of playing is mixing all the pieces. He is a fun little guy but just not too helpful to my building... I hope to complete the ship soon but I've been working on my castle of late. Surprising how much time it consumes... When I get a bit further, I'l post some WIP pics.

Nice MOC! I am always am amazed at all the colors that you put in your creations, something I plan to copy in the future. (I need to get a better selection of flowers first, I think. I basically only have red.) A minor nitpick, but I would love to see you customize your roofs instead of using the standard roof pieces which I am increasingly becoming disallusioned with... But on a positive note I like how you design your walls instead of using the 1x1 round plate fad which is nice on occasion but I think is used too much at times.

I'll be posting a pic whenever I get around to it. In the bizarre case anyone needs help with minifig ideas, pm me as I have plenty of ideas. But IMO considering the participation rules, no one should have difficulty coming up with a character to enter.

Original idea and well portrayed but IMO a guild of friends figures doesn't seem to fit into Historica very well. But that is just my opinion and my perspective of Historica...

I had thought of an underworld guild as well but as my idea of an underworld guild is very much like Nocturnus, I abandoned it. Btw, your character is awesome!

So I'm assuming there are no problems with my idea??? I will go ahead and finish it up then... PS Is this 5th guild going to be an actual guild that people can join or a "story' guild only?
