  1. An excellent entry! Liking the clean build and forced perspective of the castle in the background. Also the elemental is one of my favorites so far!
  2. Nice job! I'm going to have to get organized so I can build this quickly Nice touch on the forced persective micro tower!
  3. Impressive as usual Angeli! I am speechless....
  4. A very interesting entry! As others have said, unique idea of having four elementals. Nice job!
  5. Nice micro! Looks just as I would imagine a Kaliphlin coastal town to look like!
  6. I have only three words... Brilliant, epic, beautiful!
  7. Nice job! As robuko stated, Mya Stedor micro is instantly recognizable! Glad you could enter!
  8. Nice entry! Some elements that really stand out to me are the way the flowers are arranged around the rock and the custom dress/legs of the mother. The house and tower are great as well!
  9. My wife and I took turns being sick this week so I had to choose whether to enter a MOC that I'm not too satisfied with or tear down what I've worked on so far and just not enter. Also I had overestimated my supply of "water" pieces so I might not have been able to finish what I had planned even if I had the time. This is the first time I actually tried building a turbulent water scene and it has actually given me insight of techniques I would like to pursue further and techniques that I am canning even though others have used the techniques with decent results. So for better or worse here is my entry but note that because of the deadline, it is sort of in experimental stage and since I have no real interest in further perfecting an elemental (I think Gabe's water horse would have made the perfect elemental entry if he hadn't used it as a free build), this will be disassembed pretty quickly and put to better use. My theory was to create a massive wave that when looked at from different angles would either look like either just a wave or a humanoid water elemental rising from the sea. The face is too blocky for my liking but as I am still not feeling well, I decided not to take the chance and try and take pics and post later.
  10. My wife and I took turns being sick this week so I had to choose whether to enter a MOC that I'm not too satisfied with or tear down what I've worked on so far and just not enter. There was no time for me to finish the water around the ship so the ship is going to end up being a free build andthe rest of the scene was compressed. Also I had overestimated my supply of water pieces so I might not have been able to finish what I had planned even if I had the time. This is the first time I actually tried building a turbulent water scene and it has actually given me insight of techniques I would like to pursue further and techniques that I am canning even though others have used the techniques with decent results. So for better or worse my entry is complete but note that because of the deadline it is sort of in experimental stage and since I have no real interest in further perfecting an elemental (I think Gabe's water horse would have made the perfect elemental entry if he hadn't used it as a free build), this will be disassembed pretty quickly and put to better use.
  11. Nice little market!
  12. Great idea with that log house! Nice entry!
  13. Nice job! Always like live action! Great monster and tower but my favorite part are the houses around the tower!
  14. Wow that is going to be a big gatehouse! Perfect for an epic city like Mpya Stedor! Liking those guys hauling bricks...
  15. Nice work Kai! I think your final touches worked out great! Great idea and really liking your micro mountains!
  16. A very solid entry for Kaliphlin! So much to like about this from the crane and lighthouse to the microbuild!
  17. Very nice entry! Everything about this build looks well thought out to me... Really like how you built the grape press!
  18. Brilliant build robuko! Very original and nicely displayed!
  19. Always amazing! so many details to love here!
  20. Welcome Sebeus I! It is good to have a great builder such as yourself move to Barqa. You should not have to worry about your safety in Barqa as there is a decent sized army of the Order of Aslan garrisoned here as well as being securely governed by the House of Kalores ever since Mikel arrived in Barqa. With a new important citizen in town, perhaps we should discuss appointing a new governor?
  21. I would probably make at least the last row of studs on the left sand color up to the cliffs and if you have any more colors of green add more tecture to your grassy plain. Also probably could add more height variations to the mountains. My thoughts on what I can see from side view...
  22. I respect your opinion but honestly I'm not exactly sure what that opinion is... With other entries such as Robuko's The Piscithopter, I am actually surprised that you think that it "doesn't feel right". It might help if you were more specific as to what feels wrong about it and of course I will reply with why it is as it is... I could understand if it was loaded with cannons and had a steam engine or something but as it is just a sail ship, I'm completely lost to your opinion. I tried finding the picture that I vaguely based this off (it was a book cover from a medieval fantasy novel with a fleet of large ships by a coastline/harbor) but sadly I can't remember which book it was, I just remember the cover pic. @Kai NRG- yes I really don't think I will be changing the sails as 1. I have no idea how to realistically rig sails & 2. I remember my childhood attemts at making my own sails and I'm not going back there @rogueang- Thanks! I'm actually quite pleased with how the ship is turning out. I originally had the top deck (now lower deck) follow the curve of the boat but I wanted a ship that would be more comfortable on long voyages so I built the top deck.
  23. I have to agree with you here. There are so many techniques to use but in the end we all have to make use of the pieces/budget we have available. In this case I think you did an excellent job! The hardest part of GoH IMO is taking into account the diversity of LEGO collections each member has. I have come to the conclusion that given a collection that DC has for example, most GoH builders would produce some equally awesome stuff. I'm actually experiencing the "limited LEGO collection" effect as I work on challenge 4. I really did not realize how limited my collection of blue was. And my entry is a water scene...
  24. Welcome to Kaliphlin Ageven Deraim! Your challenge 4 entry is showing good potential. You are right that it is not an authentic medieval ship. But neither is it a pirate ship. It is a medieval fantasy ship. It would fail as a pirate ship as it has no cannon space other than perhaps topdeck where the rails are too high. I think that the colors portray more of a pirate look to it more than anything other than the sails which are indeed taken directly from LEGO's Black Pearl. The figurehead IMO is definately medieval... None of my creations are authentic historic MOCs except possibly my printing press.
  25. Looks very cold! (shivers) I like the monster but I think I agree with Kanye that the backdrop is my favorite part. My only critisism would be the ballista towers. I have encountered the same problem before where I have wanted to cover a seige weapon from the elements but at the same time have unrestricted field of fire. I came to the conclusion that either I had to settle for open tower (tower duty soldiers were used to the elements anyway) or accept the reduction in field of fire by having four corners for the roof support. This could just be my opinion but three corner towers do not strike me as being structurally viable especially in climates where ice and snow are involved. Just my opinion and I did note that you used angled supports to try and compensate for the missing pillar.
