I feel scared looking at that thing move! The movement is realistic and I like the pace of it. I must know how this is done, even though i'm a CIS builder. I may have to get an AT-TE because of this, thanks! I better MOD my MTT's now! Maybe even the AAT

I know wiki's are not a reliable source and with the connections with TLC that we have here, I though it might have been mentioned but i've only read this on Bricklink so far. Themes introduced or discontinued in 2010 Another Bricklink member claims to have spoken to the 'higher-ups' and says that it's true. Bricklink discussion I find this hard to believe, especially with Power Functions being relatively new and a release of some pneumatic parts next year. Perhaps the theme is just on hiatus for a couple of years and just no new sets for a couple of years... So tell me that this has been discussed already and isn't true There is no real evidence yet but why would people start rumours like this?

Not a problem, of course. I'm curious as to why though! I think i'll get building now, this project seems to be moving along quite quickly!

There's an unusual concentration of Federation ships over there
chris_austin replied to Legostein's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Good job! I'd like to see some reference pictures in the first post if possible? If not then i'll happily upoad some for comparison -
I thought this too but perhaps this level is below the hangar level. First thing I did when saw this build thread, was grab my Ep3 cross-section book to look for ideas but i've gone for something simnple since this'll be my first decent MOC in years!

I think having the technic bricks is an important feature, like you said Esk. Just for the sake of being a perfectionist/completist, say that we did meet in fantasyland and put this together, we would need two holes on one end of the wall but the other holes would need to be a few studs in and vice versa with the pins on the opposing module wall. This would mean that we keep the shape of the ship when modules are joined. This does depends on which module you're making, however. Shall we stick to the original wall plan or add this complication in?!

The Pirates and the NXTfied Theater (by NeXTSTORM)

Believe it. But if you still don't and want to see the behind-the-scenes video, check the original post or click -
Great idea Eskallon, it's about time there was a Star Wars commu. build. I'd like to take 36 and make it into Jedi quarters. I think having the technic bricks is an important feature, like you said. Just for the sake of being a perfectionist/completist, say we did meet and put this together, we would need one hole on the end but the other hole would need to be a few studs in and vice versa with the pins on the opposing wall. This entirley depends on which module you're making, however.

Move over pop-up LEGO temple set, you're yesterday's news! Only joking, of course. Apart from the obviously impressive engineering feat, this is soooo creative and beautiful -
Not strictly on topic but not off topic either and it was mentioned 10 pages back but hasn't been mentioned since so here is a picture: Tiles could be used in a Town/City MOC. Only available on StarWars.com as far as I know LINK The tiles are printed .

Thanks for the review. My W H Smiths didn't receive their boxes of tractors today so I don't have mine but hope that they do get them tomorrow What a great way to pick up a tan fedora. I wonder if the designers do this on purpose?

Video of Lego Buddhist Temple In Pop-Up Book
chris_austin replied to RepublicForces's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I couldn't believe this when I saw it. Starts as a brick-built LEGO set box and ends up as a temple playset! Who would have thought that it was even possible? This guy, Talapz (YouTube username) has also made a very intricate sphere. EDIT: Sorry that this has been posted before, I did search before posting and even searching now, niether topic comes up. I searched using'pop' and '*pop*' - where am I going wrong? -
Daily Mirror Free Lego deal comes to the City (and Creator)
chris_austin replied to Big Pete's topic in LEGO Town
Starts today, 24th October! http://www.mirror.co.uk/lego/free-toys/ Available in W H Smiths, Toys R Us (and whichever shop in Ireland) same as the previous offers. 10 sets and a carry case and playmat. Some interesting part selections, check out the frog! Are the wheels on the 4x4 Truck, old style wheels? EDIT: I wondered why there wasn't news of this already. I'm sure when I searched before posting that I unticked the box for 'search this forum only?'. Sorry for giving you more work to do MODS! -
Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
chris_austin replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would love to know more details! If you want it to remain a secret then no problem, but i'm fascinated by stories like this. Your pictures remind me of another minifig army fan... -
EDIT: 6 minutes too slow ^^ I'm going to try my luck today and see how many I can get. It feels mean towards all the little children who want one but i'm only doing it for fellow Eurobrickers who can't get to a store. I don't know what my local WHSmiths staff are like so here's hoping that they don't mind a bit of rule bending! Plus, my town is small enough that I might know one of them

Play.com are finally getting into the toy market. I didn't browse much but I saw a few Star Wars and Indy items. Examples - Echo Base £17.99 & Battle Of Endor £69.99. Not all are available yet (will be on 04/09/09) but can be pre-ordered now.

Sorry, this is off-topic but... Wow. I thought that was a load of rubbish but I saved the image and moved the pieces around in MS Paint. The squares still looked different until they were right next to eachither and then I realised. I like optical illusions but they make me feel stupid!

How big is the hand? Or more to the point, what are the dimensions of the minifig ice lolly?
-
I found the torso decal index but the space section only covers some classic and the Spyrius droid. I'm really looking for M:Tron and Blacktron 2. If they don't already exist then i'd like to request them. Thanks!
-
Now that, I get. Good one!
-
You should be able to buy the sets and random lots quite cheaply then! I wish people still hated Jar Jar...
-
I'm sorry, I don't get this one. It sounds like it's just a story to me!

If anyone from the UK successfully does this with something other than OxyClean then please post here. I don't think OxyClean is available here.

From most people's replies, it seems that our favourite themes are the first that we bought when young or when getting into LEGO so it mostly depends on when you were born and when you got your first LEGO space sets! Exploriens and UFO is what I spent the most money on, as I was earning money from a paper round by that time but if I have to choose a favourite then it would be M-Tron - because of the Mega Core Magetizer, the cool little container boxes and magnets
