REVIEW:8963 Rock Wrecker.
metalandi replied to Da Death Star!'s topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Please by all goodness resize the pictures!! My computer just almost got frozen even if i got a pretty good one and also a fast connection! -
I'm still not sure if i'm gonna buy this or not. Of course it's beautiful and really brings back memories from older sets, but the lack of proper interior really bugs me. It's not onlxy the lack, but i also absolutely hate that pizza oven. Why couldn't they have made something similar as in the amazing pizza-to-go set? But no, instead they make a strange looking thing with a trans-glass piece and that big technic thing that sticks in your eye immediately Well, i might buy it sometime later this year, but first i gotta look to complete my collections of recent pirates and castle sets

REVIEW: 7078 King's Battle Chariot
metalandi replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think the holes are still there at some sets, these sticky stripes have been used since years already, at least i had many sets in my hands already that had these. I don't know on what they decide what to use to close the boxes, but there have been different versions out there for sure since quite a time. -

REVIEW: 7078 King's Battle Chariot
metalandi replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks for the second review of this set! Now that i see all the accessoires at once i think it's a really good set for parts. I also like how you compared the kings and the (unexciting) building process. But what in gods name did you do with that poor box?? You know that you just have to cut open these 2 trans-plastic stripes on the edge with a knife, don't you?? -
Sorry, i did not look close enough i guess. Only the castle sets are available here, the rest also still says "not available".

New sets available on LEGO.com!
metalandi replied to Luke McAwesome's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
All new sets are fully available at S@H here in austria. -
Here in austria they are fully available, but i have the same problem, no credit card (anymore). So my only possibility is to get them off the shelves. Gotta check out if they got them in stores here already, somewhere.

The new sets have now finally arrived in Europe, at least at S@H. http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/

REVIEW: 5988 Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins
metalandi replied to Alldarker's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thank for this detailed review of a really outstanding set! I always loved the adventurers theme, especially the desert subtheme of it. Unfortunately i never till this day got my hands on that beautiful set. You are really to get it for such a low price, everytime i was watching it somewhere on ebay it went up way too high. Hopefully i'll be able to get that at some point, most prefered, MISB -
REVIEW Castle 7097 - Trolls' Mountain Fortress
metalandi replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think i agree with you, although the metallic one would have been nice for mocs and so on, the brown kinda gives the look of a self-made wooden crown which fits to the trolls But still, i think it also could be a production issue, since the metallica would most likely be a printed on color the crown could be brown under it, but we will see. -
Power Miners: New Sets for 2009

REVIEW Castle 7097 - Trolls' Mountain Fortress
metalandi replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I just studied around a lot, cause there's just something strange about the troll king's crown. I came to think about that you maybe got a mis-produced one (since you also got color differences in some plates...) in this set, cause aswell the box art as the pictures on lego.com are showing clearly a bronze crown. What do you folks think? I wonder if we will have differences in crown colors as the set gets in stores around the world. -
Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
metalandi replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
yep, same here..we had reviews of all of the new castle sets and some of the new agents and space police sets, but nothing yet from power miners! -
I agree, and 2009 is definitely a good year for lego in general. Agents is a really good unique theme i think, i like it much more than the older agent themed stuff. I can't wait for all these new sets to show up here
-
I honestly think we are gonna see elves next year, totally. It's somewhat obvious there's gotta be introduced a new subtheme of castle cause i don't think they will already stop this line again, and since we had trolls, humans and orcs now, that would be the most likely fraction next to be introduced. I also think that we will get some more dwarf sets next year since there basically are only really 2 at the moment, and dozens for the orcs already.

Review 7078 King’s Battle Chariot
metalandi replied to Cardinal Brick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Unfortunately i gotta say that this set is a big bunch of " ". Definitely one of the worst sets made in the past years, they could have made something really good out of it but they didn't. It's not only the scale of it, but also the color, the general look and how it's built. A battle chariot should be at leats only half the size, and also i don't understand why there is a treasure chest on it. Also, why would a king drive a battle chariot? Makes no sense for me. I think it would have been better if they made a closed chariot with some guards and more horses that actually carries the king. I will buy this anyway though, to complete my castle collection -
REVIEW Castle 7097 - Trolls' Mountain Fortress

You agree with KimT but you voted poor? Huh?! -
REVIEW Castle 7097 - Trolls' Mountain Fortress
metalandi replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Just came across one more thing, i think i gotta disagree with you in case of the lack of interior. Of course, there actually is nothing inside the "rocks" as you build the set, but me thinks that all of these things would fit in these spare rooms perfectly! I could be wrong, but i'd test it out to be sure. -
REVIEW Castle 7097 - Trolls' Mountain Fortress
metalandi replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I totally agree with KimT. First i wasn't too excited about it, but the many ways you can assemble it, the good amount of accessoires and figs totally rule. Also first i thought the Sorceresses room was totally empty except the crystal ball, adding that small table is very nice. I can't wait for this to come in stores here. Btw., would you mind to post the 6 digit.instructions number that's printed on the back of the instructions? I just wanna look if they are up at lego's cache already (though i doubt it, but you neve rknow, right?) -
Well, not here unfortunately. Which is actually good cause i can't afford anything right now (getting truck driving licence and goin' to loads of concerts ) but i will for sure buy the troll's fortress and the drawbridge when time comes!
-
This looks totally christmassy awesome!
-
So, the new sets have inly showed up in the US till now, right? Just wanna make sure i didn't miss anything, since i didn't have so much time lately.
