  1. @Jundis if you use XL sprockets from Liebherr then Class tires are perfect fit and model of CLASS Jaguar as on picture you posted is not to big actually (trust me undercarriage is under testing to see if I can make both terratrac and wheel drive powered by 2 XL motors)
  2. Hm...4 studs width solution that crossed my mind on first place was something similar to 42108 set... Thanks for explanation
  3. Interesting MOC, the only thing that crossed my mind - why is telescopic arm not studless?
  4. Indeed MR has various applications and possibilities. And it is workhorse and not highway "glider" so it is possible to have higher playability level in smaller MOC.
  5. Perhaps you should look at @Madoca 1977 's Tatra 813 8 x 8; it uses similar portal axle setup. I'm trying to make stronger setup for my MOCs, but only after I finish current project (parts will arrive at end of next week and I hope that I do not need extra parts)
  6. @Mechbuilds because of skipping teeth I have made a prototype with gear 36 tooth double bevel; all smaller (in my case even 28 tooth double bevel) had that issue, but I'm struggling with shocks (they are mounted to high for my project)...steering idea for my model is a kind of copy of 42099 steering system...
  7. @Mechbuilds Steering could be done with help of 5L steering arms...
  8. @Mechbuilds it is better to use 2 servos for multiple steering modes; there is to much slack when you use gears and not first shaft with servo. Yes it is very interesting
  9. In this post you can perhaps find some idea for your tatra 4 x 4 project since one of my projects (on hold due to various horrible things happen to us) is a Syn-trac tractor that uses tatra axles. Hope it could be a little bit helpful.
  10. @Mechbuilds You can use this https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=32557&ccName=4211714 But question is how wide axle do you need?
  11. That crossed my mind; not recommended for motorized MOC. Thanks neighbor
  12. Idea looks very good, but how strong is this setup?
  13. We all learn through our life and it isn't easy journey, more like bumpy ride and healthy conversation based on facts and honest experience can only help. Regards my friend
  14. @TeamThrifty the reason for my post is s bit off topic, but I had 6 eye operations (surgery) directly or indirectly dealing with using (IT) technology (and at the moment of writing I use "smartphone"). Last 15 years I work in education and teens spent 8+ hours (in school) in front of PCs. The consequences are horrible, not just from psychology's point of view, but bad sight, limited sight... sensitive eyes on wind sun...weaker or damaged eye nerve, short-sighted...one of my students (19 years had to go for cornea implantation...)... (Weaknesses of back muscles can be solved with exercises). That is my point, it is very nice to have creative hobby but health of new generation is on first place. At least we agree when building tractors Once again sorry for off topic.
  15. Interesting is that people who were pioneers in IT they let huge amount of money to schools to prevent computer using in early childhood, instead of that let kids play outside, so I agree that this set is for someone 16+ (IMHO)
  16. Great small scale Volvo dumper and it has all functionalities that are needed in such small package.
  17. Actually I made solution with universal joints, but since rear part of real thing is slightly raised I plan to install rear axle one stud lower which should give me enough space...but due to all complications and tough and painful things hoped up I can only hope to find hour or two without distractions to test this idea. Problem with chain is that it actually rubs on beams because it does not fit within one stud width (OK I have old chains from 1970s so perhaps with new it could work...) Thanks for help Mr Jos (the Boss)
  18. Interesting XL and L motor combination
  19. Very nice. You managed to put all necessary functions in such small space
  20. It seems that I'm becoming old fart too since I reason that way...but we can always use power functions elements with this set since online building instructions are available from today. Regards
  21. There is also one change suggested under title "The Build". Please take a look.
  22. Nice and honest review; just one suggestion; Volvo has one XL and one L motor
