  1. Why is it that the Stormtroopers in the new Star Destroyer are the old design? Personally I like the Imperial Inspection design more...can't see why they'd bother to make something for just one set like that when they didn't have to...
  2. Yes, but is there a set that contains a helmet in dark gold to match the armour? It would certainly be nice, but thus far I don't see a set that includes such a piece. Does anybody know if one of this year's Knights will have a gold helmet? Later. I just purchased a few of the dark tan helmits. Though not a perfect match, it'll go well enough with the armor. Definitely General material. How'd he get the plain gold armor anyway? Does a set come with that, or did he brasso some?
  3. Gold armor + black hip + gold helmit + black visor (1990's) + black cape = very cool looking
  4. Wow, really intereting design! I like it *y* It's a little blocky however, and the cockpit area is a little open, and the guns maybe need to be built up a TAD more, but this has some great potential and I like where it's going!
  5. Also, BZP's .Space has a bunch of horrible fan made themes that are usually full of equally bad creations. -l2k- I never called them bad, I just prefer creations that aren't part of a theme. I will usually like a theme if its solid and if it isn't all the particular builder makes. Actually you did :-/ Maybe you didn't mean to sound that harsh? -l2k-
  6. Still, Lego2000, it's never nice to call someone else's creations "bad"...
  7. Well, while they're legally not allowed to do it anymore with Star Wars, they could make more pseudo army builders, like Imperial Inspection. I wonder if a Star Wars chess set would classify as a minifig pack...
  8. I know, but then the Sail Barge set would be lacking, and everyone would be complaining about that...and Lego would need to come up with a new design for a new set. Don't worry, with Lego SW until 2011 I'm sure you'll see plenty of new stuff ;-)
  9. No reserve...such a low starting price and no bids? definitely a scam
  10. I agree completely on that purchases of entire sets part. Yet I don't think Lego is unclear about the minifigs' popularity among their fans...I mean just look how they advertize: Whenever you come across a Lego-ad somewhere it shows figs. Whenever you visit some toystores you'll probably see a minifig, when there is a display for according themes. A local department store where I live even has oversized plastic minifig construction workers in a display (and that for as long as I can remember...). Then the whole merchandizing: Plush-figs, minifig as a sculpture-set, all the different keychains (!!!*)...you name it! I don't quite get why Lego is so stingy with minifigs in sets lately (although it was worse a time back), but as I said I'm pretty positive about Lego knowing what kind of iconic character they have at their disposal. *would Lego REALLY produce their keychains with a focus on figs if thy didn't knew about their appeal and popularity? I doubt it! As for minifig-packs: I think we should get these again as they were in the 70s and 80s. Small 6-figure assortment for the major lines. Lego could jazz those packs up even more, if they introduced collectible bonus-figures (1 per pack) randomly packed. Those bonus figs would be even more appealing, if they had odd parts with them (like differently coloured/printed helmets, special chrome accessories...whatever). Lego has done that kind of thing already for their Bionicle-line, so why not do it for System? Hell, those random figs could even be introduced to regular sets, so you get 1 fig more per set, yet your don't know which one of the random ones (which are predetermined and limited of course! And there shouldn`t be more than, say, up to 10 different random figs per theme) 1) i think they're seeing one of the new vikings sets as a new minifig pack (the tower + 5 minifigs). they probably know by now that minifigs are important for the fans, especially for army building themes. 2) they may be expensive to produce so maybe profit margins are smaller They could make #2 up in sheer volume. Everyone, from children to AFOL love minifigs. ARMIES of minifigs. You could easily see them as stocking stuffers, little rewards, or cheap presents for childres. As for the AFOL they'll be bought by the dozen. Of course the current method is to have us buy 50 CTT to get white clone troopers...and frankly it isn't working that bad for them as it stands. I bought a second CTT for the non LULS Mace and extra white clone. I don't really need those parts, but I'll put them to good use I suppose. Face it, their method is working. It's making us resent them for their decision, but if we're forced to buy the bigger sets to get the figs we'll end up doing it. Now some will say "Bricklink". But they too have to get them from the big sets. Either way, TLG wins. Maybe if they weren't so financially against the wall like they were twenty years ago they'd bring the minifig packs back. Maybe not. Until that time comes just cross your fingers, and open your wallet.
  11. Why must you stereotype birds as liking to sit on trees?! :-P Great vig as always. I love the faces you find! The expressions always work perfectly
  12. Well so people see it right away, maybe just edit your first post with new pictures of it.
  13. Besides the sheid/sword that were there in the Flikr link in the first post...did anything change?
  14. No you're not the only one who would prefer to have a new alien mold instead of Lando's helmet. I would have personally preffered a Shaak Ti or Kit Fisto I'm pretty sure they were both quite dead by Episode VI ;-)
  15. I like the design, it's small but looks very sturdy. Maybe...change the colors though? It's not exactly the most camoflauged thing in the world :-P
  16. No problem, you'll get a bunch really quick with the Fenris set. Too bad they're all in bley, but what isn't these days? :-/
  17. That's just a technic "piston". Get a Fenris Wolf viking set, I think it has like 8 of 'em.
  18. Here's a good idea...why don't you just wait until they come out like everyone else does? -l2k- Again, that was rather rude. Here's a good idea...instead of trying to insult a user, if you can't help, how about not saying anything? He obviously wants them. That's the PURPOSE of this forum, so stop complaining *sad* Any time someone wants to get something early, or asks here, why don't you tell them to just look on Bricklink or ebay or wait? He's not being mean, he's just asking and waiting (for a long time) for some help. He's done nothing wrong.
  19. Here ya go ;-) Nice Army Sarg ;-) I'm sure they're ready for some serious wookiee action X-D Glad my Droids helped you ;-) *yoda* I thought he was getting those sets just for more droids, not to fight against. I remember someone around here who wanted gungans...
  20. Not bad! You're planning to re-enact a battle between them and the gungans, right?
  21. Wow, he has some very nice designs!
  22. I don't know about that, John. I mean Lego NEVER seemed to be interested in education in the past, the pirates weren't especially educational or accurate. Back then they just wanted kids to have fun and use their imaginations. These days it seems like the ONLY way they can bring anything that isn't pop-culture is to market it as educational to get the parents to force it on their kids. I don't like this. Sure, I'd like a historical theme, but would the children really prefer "Hey, I got a Julius Cesear fig! Cooooooooool!" to swooshing away their star wars fighters and such? Lego made the right choice business wise, at least as a quick fix to get back on their feet. What they choose to do from here nobody knows.
  23. When you say Soren-style, you mean a person?
  24. I read the whole thread and I have no idea where that came from >_> *y* anyway though
  25. I know, I'm Jewish too ;-) I meant that...ah, nevermind
