  1. I admire your willingness to combine a commonly shunned hobby with a controversial theme.
  2. Am I the only one here who liked Alpha Team?
  3. Shame that the Agents Heli/Flyer doesn't look as good as the one Inferno gets with the Mobile Command Center.
  4. The ray gun, maybe, but beyond that it looks like it's more designed to look pretty. Which it does very well.
  5. I hope the Base has a lot of cool techno-details on the back, or else I probably won't get it... right now it doesn't look like too much fun to play with.
  6. This is definitely the weakest of the Agents sets, in my opinion. Still not bad.
  7. It would have to be either a very small volcano or a very big base. And I want more base than volcano.
  8. The only one of those that seems at all likely to me is the oil rig. Keep in mind that the Volcano Base in the background of the Turbocar Chase was the most defined and visible of all the box art.
  9. Meh, never been into city sets, seems boring. The Coast Guard sets are pretty good though. It seems like LEGO hired some better builders.
  10. The sub appeals to me more than the base, actually...
  11. Now now, don't slam Alpha Team, AT was great back in the day. Especially the "Arctic Expedition" series. But I agree that Agents are a marked improvement. :D I'll be getting the Mobile Command Base, Gold Hunt, Deep Sea, and Volcano Base most likely.
  12. Detailed impressions: The Agents submarine looks great. The design is slick, detailed, and navy blue- what more could we ask for? I wish Alpha Team had subs that looked this good. I kinda wish they had left out the claw on the front, though. Even so- I'm definitely getting this one, even if I have to forgo my beloved Mars Mission fund. However, the boat isn't all that great... more flick-fire missiles. I DO like the mini vehicles though, which appears to be a recurring theme with Agents. I'm not complaining. The volcano base looks great too! I'm most impressed because they build a realistic looking volcano structure using bricks rather than big pieces with decals or stickers. The big gate in the middle looks great, and I like the little transport leading to the Agent's demise. The laser gun is hilarious. It fits the theme, somehow, and yet it's so over-the-top. I like it. My only complaint is that the the base doesn't look like it'll have many features. Unless the back end of has an industrial complex that one of my agents can sneak through, I'll be a little disappointed that all I can do is net Dr. Inferno with my crappy agent helicopter... I'm definitely getting the sub though, and I'd seriously consider the base, provided it has more to it than we're being let in on. ;)
  13. Agents are turning out to be one of my favorite themes this year...
  14. No, but this IS one of the most anticipated sets of 08...
  15. Why is it that Agents and Star Wars get their own news articles but this fantastic set is totally ignored?
  16. I'm perfectly fine with living WITHOUT yet another drill gimmick if it means I get a very cool-looking mining vehicle.
  17. I don't understand why there's so much negativity... this is actually my favorite of the new MM sets. The finished look is very sleek and not very gappy at all. The deployable landing pad is great, and it'll make it easy to put on a shelf without taking too much room. Lots of greebles... although I will concede that it's just begging to be modded. Still, though, I'm definitely buying this one. :) It has a really great look to it!
  18. I was interested in the speedboat until I saw how it was attached to the sub. Seriously LEGO. Design > gimmick. I'll still get the gold hunt and command center, though.
  19. This should be reported to the news .
  20. I don't even see why you reviewed this set... it didn't tell us anything that isn't perceivable from the box, being so simple. Though I do appreciate the effort.
  21. I agree.
  22. I was going to buy this set anyway, but now I'm even more excited. :D My favorite part of this set is the bay that holds the little cart vehicles.
  23. Who cares about minifigs? Really? The sets themselves are much more interesting. The spider droid looks pretty good, and I'm gonna reserve judgement on the twilight until I see better pics.
  24. I think some of the agents sets are pretty stupid, particularly the motor bike swamp thing and the jetpack chase, but this truck looks godly and I've always been fond of the jet and boat. It looks like I'm getting roped into this theme after all. Mars Mission and Agents will be the sets for me this summer. :D
  25. It's a TRU exclusive, and I see no reason for it not to be available in Australia...
