  1. Am I correct in assuming that these will not include The Force Awakens sets?
  2. BrickCommander, if I remember correctly, you offered to talk about the new Force Awakens sets after their release. If that offer still stands, I'd love to hear anything you'd like to, and can, share. I'm particularly interested in the design challenge imposed by working with early concepts. Based on the multitude of colour schemes Kylo Ren's shuttle appears in toy form (white, grey, black with red glass - not to speak of its wing function and layout), I assume the design was overhauled multiple times. I won't ask specific questions and hope you'll just chat away.
  3. I don't think your first sentence is part of the moderator's first post and simply your interpretation of what 'discussing rumoured sets' includes. I, too, won't further derail this topic but have no interest to discuss this further in personal messages. It is something affecting everybody posting on this board (or moderating) after all. The two of us just have to respectfully agree to disagree on this. From my point-of-view, it makes much more sense to include those wishes/ purchase intentions here, as these reflect the community's interest in the rumoured sets. Otherwise, you'd likely find similar complains in the thread you refer to. E.g. "What set do you want to buy? It's not even confirmed - your post belongs to the 2016 rumoured sets topic." And if we don't discuss wishes about rumoured sets, such as included minifigs or parts, what else is there to discuss, I wonder?
  4. May I suggest to use a web search engine instead of a forum, then? The very purpose of a forum is to discuss and share thoughts - here about rumours. This very thread, and its discussion of prices, wishes, and thoughts by Eurobrick's AFOL(SW), is evidence against your generalised, and ultimately selfish, statement. I'm confident you will be able to find any information quickly and in one spot by using google. Better yet, create your own website, in which you provide all those rumours in one handy spot. Instead of just receiving (and demanding), you could serve others and be a valuable member of the AFOL online community.
  5. The new LEGO Club magazine is all about the Force Awakens sets. You can download it as PDF file from LEGO's homepage. The magazine has character descriptions but doesn't spoil anything obvious from the trailers. The only new information is minor (a name) relating to the thug minifigure.
  6. Exactly. Everybody has different ideas about 'the best'. For me, it's clearly the Millennium Falcon - followed by Poe's X-Wing.
  7. I finished building mine today and have the same minor issue with the cockpit not closing snap-shut (as the 2012 X-Wing's cockpit did). The gap is only as wide as the thickness of a fingernail, so it's hardly noticeable.
  8. Any Aussies looking for the new sets and not checking on the "Aussie sales" thread: I just picked up Poe's X-Wing for 92 $ from BigW! They sell it for 15 $ under the RRP anyway, and only today, they have an additional 20% off.
  9. Without access to new stickers to upgrade the interior, I think you could achieve the sleeker shape and better fit of the Falcon's closing panels. I don't own the 2011 model, so I can't compare the exact details. I'd expect you could download the 75105 instruction manual as pdf and alter the height and panel fit. I also really, really like the newly designed mandibles. There are - as far as I know - no uncommon pieces other than those for the stud shooters, and I think it looks much better than in the 2011 set. I also like the cockpit much more than in 2011 and believe this redesign is achievable with common pieces. Summary suggestion: - overall heigh decrease - panel fit - cockpit - mandibles Either download the instructions or - if unavailable - play & pause a Youtube video review by 'Artifex' who is showing a superbly animated stop-motion build. One thing I'd love to mod in the new Falcon (if I had the pieces) would be to exchange the thick triangular bricks for the 2011's sleeker pieces used as the rear stabiliser. I also think the main computer panel looks at least as good in the 2011 model with all its angles and printed pieces compared to the large sticker piece in 2015.
  10. Saw this on the front page and just had to stop by to say: Amazing!!!
  11. The official SW database contains some information about Ungkar's thugs: http://www.starwars.com/databank/unkar-s-thugs
  12. Fantastic design!
  13. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing! And I agree with anybody saying that the shuttle looks amazing in black!
  14. Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle becomes more and more mysterious. Aside from the wing-issue, I have seen images of different coloured models. There are white ones, the grey LEGO version, and a pitch black model here: https://thecantina.starwars7news.com/index.php?attachments/6102036511775-jpeg.13511/ Will it change colour? Has the concept art of Kylo's craft changed over the last year? I certainly hope LEGO is close to the movie version.
  15. Thanks for the review! I really like the speeder's look but am shocked at the number of stickers for such a small set! Furthermore, the vehicle appears too large compared to the minifigs. I still voted 'very good' and will get it once I find a special offer. Something is wrong when you can buy entire sound systems, espresso makers or a coffee table for the price of a plastic spaceship. In case anybody is interested in this set's villain, you'll find a short entry on the official Star Wars website (database).
  16. Bought the Millennium Falcon. To make the time until Episode VII pass easier, I'll get one TFA set per month. I'm thinking Transporter in October, Kylo's shuttle in November, and the X-Wing in December.
  17. Similar objections to any discussions related to the movie recur so frequently, that I wanted to share my thoughts on it. I always thought this thread is about LEGO Star Wars. Discussing the toy without the theme renders the entire threat redundant? The entire line takes its popularity from the connection between the timeless science fiction saga and everybody's favourite brick-building system. Indeed, the purpose of this forum is, in my mind, the interaction with other LEGO Star Wars fans. Not LEGO fans. Not Star Wars fans. LEGO Star Wars. Inseparable. To me, Captain Phasma's place in the universe is as much part of set number 75103 as the colour of its bricks, its price, or its piece count. If we talk about Rey's Speeder in absence of its place in the universe, any "discussions" will come down to thoughts on colours and shapes of soulless, fictional crafts. For that purpose, I wouldn't need a forum.
  18. If you're interested in the Transporter, you can see a high quality video on youtube by user "Janbricks".
  19. Thanks for sharing! I'd love to see a top-down view. The only things I didn't like about the 2011 X-Wing were the large gaps between wings and body. I wonder if this has been improved upon. The model looks great! I absolutely love the colour scheme, the cockpit and the accessories. The rear exhausts looks great, too! What I don't like: The rubber bands in blue also stand out too much for me. I think I'd prefer them in black to blend in with the model more nicely. And everything has been said about the unfortunate wing design.
  20. If you haven't done so, do yourself a favour and visit the official LEGO website. The Episode VII products are up - including the cute mini clips.
  21. A designer just confirmed that Kylo Ren's Shuttle was designed from sketches (not even photos, as taken those was prohibited) drawn at pre-production. Also, how quickly that guy assembled the shuttle is insane! Seeing the shuttle in hand, I actually like the look. I just wonder if the colour is right, or if a lighter (possibly even white) base colour would be more accurate to the movie version.
  22. In case anybody is interested, the global live unboxing just featured the First Order Transporter. Looks like a great set to me!
  23. To me, it clearly shows that the wings can be folded down. There's an image to the left, pointing to the upper parts of the 'wings' and even a description: "retracting upper stabiliser". The only feature present in LEGO's model and not visible to me here are the two ventral flaps on each wing.
  24. Great stuff, thanks for sharing! I'd love to add Boba, C3PO and Jawas to my modest collection. Really hoping for Kylo Ren to appear in a micro fighter set - and for old Luke & Leia, obviously!
  25. I just saw a close-up of Kylo's hooded version. Like a lot more than the helmet, although I think the printing doesn't do justice to how much the mask extents past the chin.
