Missing pieces from lego sets
Cardinal Brick replied to Lego Wargammer's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It happens both my Fire Brigade and Grand Carousel had the odd bit missing, but when I thnk just how many sets I buy the rate of problems is very very low and it's never been anything as important as a minifig. -
Another European store, well thats good even if it is in another country made it'll mean Lego plan a large roll out than they have at the moment on this side of the Atlantic.
-
While it would be nice to to see a new monorail or any powerfunctions light railway for the space theme I sadly can't see it any time in the near future. Though I'd love to be proved wrong.

Iron Side Confederate Steam Boat
Cardinal Brick replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Another nice western river set, though part of me would like to see it with a wheel rather than screw driven. Can I ask a couple of questions how is the canon mounted can it be turned to face both side? Also were did you get those wonderful western backgrounds from? -
Report about new Western sets addressed to TLG
Cardinal Brick replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Sorry I missed that line, glad to see it there. -
Excellent work I'm a huge fan of paddle steamers and this is a turly great one, I'm impressed that you managed to use the normal hull parts to build it I thought that that would always give such a ship to odd a shape to look like what it was intended to be but you've pull it off impressivly. The only issue I have with it is that the ships a little tall for my taste it looks like it my be unstable, though if thats why it sank and it now a ghost ships then that's fine with me.

Report about new Western sets addressed to TLG
Cardinal Brick replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice work I hope we see something come of this at some point in the future. Its nice to see the ideas for a return of the theme laid out in such a clear way, though I didn't see a mention of a paddlesteamer! -
Fantasy Creatures in Historic Themes
Cardinal Brick replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I don't mind fantasy in Castle, aslong as it's well done which is my criteria for accepting something from the TLC. I personally think that the Viking dragons were the best that Lego has produced not just due to their posability but also due to their scale they were the size that I expect a dragon to be. In other themes I'm not as sure mainly as I havn't seen it done, I think there are so many other things that could be done in Pirates before the need for fantasy but if Lego produced a well made fantasy theme I wouldn't object. It's not as if it's 100 % history anyway. -
That's a great idea I really like it and the best thing is it doesn't even have to be licenced Lego could just make it anyway without the added costs.

I was wondering if anyone would me willing to make a copy of the offical Lego Shogun torso in blue and in a selection of other colour Example

I think it look real to me, it looks quite good though I'm surprised that there isn't a single alien in the set maybe theres another little small set for them going to be released?
-
I think alot of people would like to have a Monorail in their city but the cost of it is so high these days that getting enough track for a decent sized layout is quite hard or very expensive. I had hopped that the new Indy track would become common enough to make a sort of light rail system like the DLR in London but it doesn't seem to be appearing in any other set. Maybe one day we'll get another monorail system based on power functions with cheap track, otherwise I think most of us just have to stick to ground trains.

Not to bad I got 4 of them in the end it's not the best of the promotionals on offer but one of the better ones. Above average in my opinion.

I look forward to more information and to pictures, but it's going to be a hard year with the new imperial flag ship comming out. I almost want there to be no castle next year just to make things a little easier now.

I agree with you it's not to bad nothing amazing but not to bad for less than £1. Considering that the even Lego store you can't pick up a minifig for that much.
-
A great set I've been around to two Smith near where I work so I have managed to get a few. I think it's probably the best set offered by the Mirrors promotion this run.
-
A few copies of the Daily Mirror for me, when I will reycle and a few minifigs at the store in Bluewater not a bad day for my only day off for the next two weeks.
-
Thats a great idea, I've always loved the look of the American paddle steamers, but which type would you prefer stern wheel or side wheel?
-
I agree 100% it great that more and more themes are getting double sided heads and news one aswell
-
Maybe they'll be a release later in the year, I asume Lego expect alot of children to get Space Police at Christmas and thus a few cheaper sets after Christmas will give children something to spend any money they got for christmas on.

Thanks for the review, it's a nice calendar but it doesn't demand that I buy it the way last years Castle one did, so I'm still not sure if I'll get one.
-
I like the look of both sets and if 'Rench' is still in the Blacktron style torso it'll be even better. I think the Smash 'n' Grab has the right combination of parts colour and humor to make a really good set.

10210 Imperial Flagship - UPCOMING SET!!!
Cardinal Brick replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'm stunned, it's great that they've decided to end the theme with such an amazing ship, I'm buying atleast one of them. I hope the rest of 2010 release isn't to go so I can spend it on this. -
I'm looking forward to this theme now, at first I had my doubts but with alot of the themes I have doubts about from blury pictures it get better and better looking. I can't wait though maybe they could wait till after the new pirate ships released so it doesn't hurt my wallet to much.

Thanks for the review, you've done a great old set justice. It's a great sent and the fact that it's achieved with common parts rather than hard to get ones makes it even better. I think you're being unfair on the price point though, inflation means the set would could alot more than $20 today rather than anything Lego has done.
