  1. Welcome Sam I hope you have a great time it's great to have another Adventurers fan around, are you also in to the new Indy sets?
  2. Thanks for posting SlyOwl I look forward to the arival of mine.
  3. It looks good the only suggested improvement I’d propose is to add a few diagonal beams. Other wise it's a good solid house and I'd personally like to see your first attempt just to see the progression.
  4. Double Loyalty Stamps Lego Stores UK and Germany (?) I popped out to Bluewater today, wasn’t intending to go into the Lego Store but I’m glad I did from the 1st to the 16th of July you’ll get double reward point on all purchases at the Lego store. As far as I can tell from the leaflet this extends to all UK stores and those in Germany they’re included on the back. I thought I should post a headup and let people know as it’s a good opertunity to save money. Further from 27-30 July there is 10% when you buy 2 battle packs 13-15 August 10% off At-AT and finally 18-20 August 10% off Town Plan
  5. Thanks for the review, I was looking at it today in the Lego shop but decided against it I might buy it now.
  6. While it seems quite odd to be offering comments on propaganda posters I’ll try. While the background images are good I think there are a number of problems with the text overlay, if you look at most propaganda poster the text isn’t over a picture but a blank background colour so it makes it as easy as possible to read, if it is over a part of the picture you’ll find it’s over something that is nearly a block of colour rather than something with a number of things represented. That’d be my main advice in order to improve the look of the poster and make them seem more real world otherwise good job.
  7. Of course TLC would be trying to keep it a secret but I’d assume development would have to have been going for at least 6-8 months already it’s just surprising there isn’t a rumour, but then maybe TLC are working on internal security? They’re ending outsourcing next year after all so maybe they've got tighter information control.
  8. Welcome great to see another castle fan joining.
  9. Until I see a cannon I wont believe it! It se4ems strange for a new fig just to turn up on a shop in the US, if the line is for 2010 surely there’d be no production less so no chance of gabbing one and plonking it on the display by accident., which leaves 2009 but we’ve heard nothing and I’d have expected to hear something before now if Lego were making such a move. Wasn’t for example the new castle confirmed much fairly early?
  10. It’ll depend on a variety of factors I’d expect, size of store, buying trends, the areas demographic etc, or maybe that’s just all that’s arrived at the moment.
  11. A nice little vig, intresting use of the troll headgear hadn't really thought of it as possible for humans before (I have limited imagination), my only issue is with the use of flesh tons but that's a personal issue rather than a problem with vig.
  12. It’s a great upgrade and slave labour is always a great method of propulsion for a warship. Both the stern castle and the fore castle are very well made and look very imposing, however I think the ship could do with being longer so it doesn’t seem short and high out of the water. Further I think the use of the original bow is a mistake I personally don’t like the drop and then rising again at the prow, maybe it’d be better brickbuilt. Regardless everything else is sound and well made.
  13. Wow! You’ve nearly made my dream come true with the Lewis and the Brodie all I need now is a Vickers and a SMLE and I’m in heaven! The others are great as well but I’m nowhere near as excited about them as the Lewis and Brodie.
  14. A wonderful MOC, the cascading water is truly exquisite as TheBrickster said it has true style and grace. Though I sort of expect a ninja to be hiding somewhere (to much time playing Shogun Total War me thinks) in the end I'm glad there isn't and it retains a beautiful simplicity.
  15. Welcome to Eurobricks I hope you enjoy your time here.
  16. Welcome to Eurobricks, it seems we're getting more and more Fabuland fan recently.
  17. OK, I didn't expect that, that was quite good.
  18. This is a great thread it’s great to see how things have changed over time and how much larger everything has gotten. Though on a real world note it seems to me that ambulance in the UK have grown at about the rate of the Lego ones.
  19. It's custom made to qoute yokomode01 "i cut 'Minifig Top Hat' - part - 3878 in half with a scalpel, then i dipped it into wet epoxy resin, let it form a rounded drip as it dried, then painted it....presto! - Bowler Hat. " Which seems a good methyod and maybe not to hard after the first few attempts, though I'd still love and offical one.
  20. I like the new dragon, they are about the right size to allow a minifig to ride on it’s back without it looking a bit odd. I do hope to a quire a few more of them at some point, however if I wanted a dragon to terrorise a city rather than for someone to ride I think you’d need the green Viking dragon which I love for it’s scale a dragon is meant to be huge. For the future I think we should stay with what we’ve got for the time being.
  21. Independent toy retailers? What are these things of which you speak? Seriously though, I live in London and I only know of one independent toy shop (I haven’t gone out searching for them) and they’re right on the other side of London. However I’d say that the Toys R Us I go to has a good range it even sells castle which is a major plus for me. My local woollies is tiny and looks like it’s from and 80’s ghetto but it still has a few bits and bobs. I just feel I’m luck to live a bus ride away from Bluewater which allows me to buy most of the range in person and use the loyalty card, and as that’s the cinema I tend to go to it does offer the odd impulse by. Finally Argos sometimes has something good. I think Lego realise that as the CEO said the other year (though talking about the USA at the time) Lego is not a mass market product, and is more limited so it won’t be so widely available.
  22. Congrats on your win, it's a great vig. I look forward to the promised full coverage eagerly
  23. It as shame that none of the UK papers I saw yesterday mentioned the charity, but it's nice to see Lego raising money for a good cause.
  24. Welcome and I hope you have a good time.
  25. Was I the only one who thought of Mad Max 2 with the new troll leader "walk away, I'll let you live if you just walk away" Anyway more on topic I think it's a great redesign I think it's a very good idea to use the dino as a source of power rather than the large troll.
