Thanks for posting the link Jan but I think this topic is focused in the whole "World Buildings" theme instead of the "Architecture" one . This line has just three sets so far in my opinion as I don't really count the "Architecture" line as in the same league of Tower Bridge and Eiffel Tower . Another idea I came up with last night was a medium sized set of Christ the Redeemer. This statue can be made with around 1500+ pieces in my opinion so they could fit it in the $99.99 price range. A little base to represent the hill where it is located would be nice too and also could add some color to an otherwise plain grey statue. I really like the idea of smaller "World Buildings" sets even though this could sound a bit wishful considering it can break some kind of policy the TLC could have against producing religious buildings .

Hi, after a lot of struggle within myself to decide between purchasing the Tower Bridge or the Taj Mahal sets I got the idea for this topic. The current line of World Buildings just includes three sets: Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal and the upcoming Tower Bridge (Sorry, I don't count the Statue of Liberty as one of them because it is way too old but also belonged to the line of "Sculptures" ). I found this theme extremely interesting because of the great detail the designers seem to put into the models and the fact that they make great display pieces . There are rumors that the next set in the line will be the Sydney Opera Building which could an amazing next entry in the series but the real question is: Which do you think will be the next sets designed for the theme? Personally, I would LOVE a Saint Basil's Cathedral better know as the Cathedral at the Red Square in Moscow . This could easily make the best entry in the theme so far by miles. Just imagine all those exotic colors in one really big set. The whole structure is really interesting by itself and in my opinion one of the best building the TLG can turn into a set. I know the shape is difficult to get but if the team follows the building techniques they used with the Taj Mahal I think they can really pull it off. The set could be in the 5000+ range of pieces and the color selection can make it a must-have for any MOCer or AFOL.

Thanks a lot for the welcome Mr. Mandalorian . I also hope they change the variety issue in the Mandalorian Battlepack, after all, some markings here and there couldn't be bad, could them?

After what appeared to be an everlasting "Dark-age" I am finally back posting here in Eurobricks (I had been a member here for years so I just wanted to re-introduce me after so much time, sorry if it was off-topic). Now back into what seem to be the hot news : Clone Battlepack: The first time I heard the news about a new Clone Battlepack I was quiet skeptical, it is great to see the TLC proving me wrong. Giving us some variety makes this set a must for me. The Bomb-squad Troopers are my favorite of the bunch, all those orange markings make for a visually stunning minifigure. The ARF Trooper is great too but mainly because of his awesome new helmet. The Clone Commando is disappointing if we count him as a REAL Commando but as a fairly standard Clone Commander he is not as bad. The BARC Speeder looks about right (The pics are too blurry to judge), let hope the designers finally give us a true BARC Speeder. Mandalorian Battlepack: This looks less exciting than the Clone Battlepack to me. Sure it is great to finally have a whole squad of Mandalorian Warriors but the fact that all of them are the same bothers me. The variety is pretty lacking here and the minifigures aren't all that great looking in my opinion. I will take this one as a prelim hoping for some special markings on at least one of the four Mandalorian. The speeder looks just "ok", the designers can do better. Imperial V-wing: It seems I am in the minority when talking about this set seeing as how it looks just great to me. The color scheme is a step-forward, I have always wanted to have a black V-wing, a Republic one would have been a bit more boring to me. The design seems improved and the set looks bigger than the one sold in 2006 (Just as the Tri-Droid Fighter the TLC released this year). The Imperial Pilot minifigure looks awesome and the Astromech Droid is always a good minifigure to own in all the colors of the rainbow . Battle of Naboo: My second favorite set of the lot. Since 2001 I have been praying so the TLC give us another standalone Battle Droid Carrier (The one in the incredible MTT 7662 was good but it was obviously intended to be a small play feature). The Carrier looks GREAT, the color scheme is spot-on, the design leaves the 2001 model to cry and the size is absolutely perfect . The fact that it comes with around 8 Battle Droids, a Gungan Warrior and a new Jar Jar Binks minifigure are pluses in an already must-have set for me. Bounty Hunter Gunship A.K.A. The Halo: This is definitely my favorite of the whole wave. The last few years the TLC has been so focused in the Republic ships that I felt they were kinda forgetting about how many great unknown ships are presented in The Clone Wars. This is the respond to my wishes. A Clone Wars themed ship that is not only a "Non-Republican" ship but also comes with a great design and an striking color scheme. This set will surely stand-out in the middle of my collection just by judging the colors. The minifigures are another strong point with this one. Aurra Sing is a must-have for me (A Star Wars character I have always wanted to own), Embo is by far one of the most cool designed characters in the series and Sugi will complete an already great lot (After all this is HER ship). The Assassin Droid is a little plus and it seems to come with a new printed headpiece (If you zoom the pics you can see some little orange markings around his head). The A-6 Jedi Shuttle: I first feared the choice the TLC had when the first rumor list appeared. The ship itself didn't seem all that great for a set (Fairly boring design) and the idea of it being the biggest of its wave was disappointing to say the least. Thanks TLC for proving me wrong once again. The ship itself looks way more interesting in Lego-form and the play features seem interesting (I want to see just how sturdy the thing is when changing the wings positions); The minifigure although are the true highlights of this set. Not even in my most positive wishes and dream could I have imagined the TLC giving us not only one or two but THREE totally new Jedi in an affordable sized set. Quilan Vos is a great Jedi minifigure have, the markings are great and the new torso possibilities are great. Saesee Tinn is one of the Jedi Council character that I never thought the TLC will release so it is great to see a somewhat obscure Jedi being produced. Shaak Ti has been since I started collecting my MOST wanted minifigure. It is a dream come true to see her finally making her way to the Lego treatment. The headpiece is just beautiful and the head itself is incredibly detailed. I am absolutely pleased with her minifigure. What is more interesting in fact, are all the new headpiece of this Jedi. Saesee Tinn looks definitely prelim but Quilan Vos and Shaak Ti have special marking to them already but also NORMAL eyes. This is somewhat contradictory judging how Obi-Wan has common Clone Wars look. This is puzzling because of how the TLC already put elaborated marking in Shaak Ti and Quilan Vos forgetting all together of making them in Clone Wars style. Personally I WISH they stay this way (I don't like the new Aayla Secura minifigure because of this same reason but also is what makes so great the new Barris Offee minifigure in comparison). All in all I am really happy about this new wave, definitely looking to purchase every set in the lot. Waiting curious to see how the TLC surprise us in the summer wave (After they release four new Jedi in a set I don't see the possibility of a Geonosis Arena set impossible anymore). It feels great to be back .

I have been a member for 2 years now, I took a huge time break for many personal reasons but now I am back posting here in Eurobricks. Looking at how I have 930 posts and 63% in the SW forum I think I deserve this tag (I always wanted a tag here but never earned one ).

After a huge break of time of months in duration I am finally back posting here in Eurobricks . Glad to see we have a lot of new members since my last visit. Now, back on topic I just want to give my opinion in the new rumored Imperial Shuttle/Landing Platform set. Since the license started back in 1999 it has been the wish of almost every AFOL to own his/her own Imperial Shuttle/Landing Platform so in my opinion, the TLC has a hit winner with this set. Judging by it's set number (10212) is a pretty safe bet to think this is going to be released in the first half of the year looking at how the set 10211 Grand Emporium is just a number below and is going to be release in March. I hope this one includes a well designed landing pad since I have been waiting for one since the release of the Cloud City.

That new helmet looks amazing , I really love it, it may look a bit big but way better than the old one .
-
Thanks a lot for the pics . Wow, the minifigs in the ARC-170 are looking really, really good. I always wanted that kind of pilots but when Episode III came out I discovered the altered TLC version . The astromech looks definitely dark green which is great in my opinion. The ship itself looks better now becuase the TLC seemed to get the proportions somewhat right this time .
-
You know when I first heard about this theme I got pretty excited becuase of the possibilities . Looking at some of them now I feel somehow dissapointed . The minifigs look FANTASTIC I really, really love that Octopus-Mermaid King minifig it looks GREAT and one of the best minifigs I have ever seen but the minifigs just doesn´t justify purchase a set of $50 . Then sets themselves look pretty lackluster to me. All of them look well... they doesn´t seem to have anything in common at all .

Another AMAIZING review Big Cam . Wow, your pics are really, really good , keep the good work. This set is maybe the one I must want of eBay at the moment, I have found a lot of cheap ones but for some reason I just don´t get to buy them at all. After reading your review... I WANT IT EVEN MORE ><!!!!!
-
Great review Big Cam and really good explanations for your veredict . You know this kind of sets and especially THIS one gives me some nostalgia of the old good times when TLC produced some great sets of REAL SHIPS at a cheap price. I really miss those days but hopefully 2010 line-up seems to make them return again , just let´s hope the supposed "small" sets like the Freeco Bike don

So the rumored AT-AT actually is a Midi-Scale? What a dissapointment...

Best SW set in the 10 years of Lego Star Wars
darkrebellion replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The mighty and legendary 4483 AT-AT . I still remember the christmas morning I woke up and it was there in all it -
Those prices are a little bit high especially the chrome ships´ ones. We know that chroming parts is expensive but $500 for 1200 pieces?

Here are some of my ideas: Geonosis Arena : - $199.99 - AOTC It could be a diorama composed by different structures so you can put them in the location and order do you like. It could include a big portion with three different gates where the arena creatures can be "stored", the three big "sacrifice" pillars, two potions of the arena with sits for the public and the big tower that was used by the Separatists leaders. Creatures: Nexu, Acklay, Reek. Minifigs: Padme, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Coleman Trebor, 4 Geonosian Soldiers, 4 Battle Droids, 2 Super Battle Droids, C-3PO in BD body, Battle Droid with C-3PO body, Jango Fett, Count Dooku. Extras: 5 Lightsabers, 12 Blasters, 2 Small Blasters. Kamino Encounter: - $89.99 - AOTC It could include a big landing platform with a small bridge that connects it to a small section with a blast door. Obviously it must include the Jango Fett Slave I. The can also add one or two towers to the sides for more detail. Minifigs: Jango Fett, Obi-Wan, Boba Fett and Taun We. Extras: Grappling Hook, a Lightsaber, 2 Small Blasters and some boxes with tools. C´mon TLC give some love to the forgotten Episode II line .

You have a REALLY good city layout there Klaus . You know, when I take a look at brickshelf and flickr and search for good city layouts they are mostly just a big mess of sets put togethers but your city looks incredibly good , it looks really organized and actually looks like real city. I always want to build my own city when I see collections like yours but then I remember I collect only SW and get out of my cloud .

I just found the next information from Brickhorizon: "Ok so here is the big news I got talking to a Lego rep at TRU: * A new MF scale AT-AT !! Ok I'm really super happy about that * CW CTT: man that rocks" It was posted by member xwingyoda who is in my opinion a really reliable source . If the new AT-AT is a true minifig scale than it is going to be a MUST BUY from me , it has been the dream of each AFOL since the line begun so this are really good news. Also he pointed out that the new AT-AT is NOT the motorized one.

Thanks for the in-depth review ben506 . To be honest I still don´t love the set at all. It is pretty good but I feel it doesn´t deserve to be THE anniversary set it should have been . The last year Death Star 10188 was TOTALLY awesome but this one is a meh to be honest. Can I ask for something? Can you take some pics comparing this set to other sets like the Gunship or the Battle of Endor so we can really appreciate it´s size .

Great list !!! Comes really handy. Just after looking at the 2010 sets pics I was expressing how happy I am because the TLC releasing a Talz. I always wanted to see most SW species represented in minifig form and looking at this list I can see how the TLC has done a good job . EDIT: I found the missing specie!!! It is the Clawdite (Zam Wesell).

Thanks for the pics Navy Trooper Fenson . Now my thoughts... Landspeeder: It looks like a really good small set . The color choices are good and give the set a different color from the common red, white and grey we usually receive nowadays. The minifigs are good but I think they really miss a good opportunity. I know they can´t give us a lot of new molds but here is how a really good set could have been in my opinion: Landspeeder and brick-build ronto, the minifigs we got, two jawas and a tusken or a simple citizen . ARC 170: I like it but it doesn´t help that looks really similar too the older one. The minifigs are good and seem to fit the set well. I also like the fact that the new one has shorter wings and bigger engines like the movie version contrary to the old one with small engines and long wings. So far it seems like the Landspeeder is a MUST BUY and the ARC-170 is a maybe from me .

Thanks A LOT for the new pics Lego-Freak . This new line-up looks tons better than the one we got this year with a lot more variety too and a bunch of small sets, WAY TO GO TLC !!!!! Here are my thoughts: Freeco Bike: Finally the retunr of the SMALL sets . The speeder looks incredibly good designed but the best part are the minifigs. A new Obi Wan or Anakin in new outfits are welcome but the true gem is the new Talz. Personally I am not a "Clone lover" I like them but prefer by far that the TLC give us new alien species over re-painted armors . I ALWAYS wanted a Talz since I see that one in the cantina scene of ANH so this is a dream come true . This is a MUST BUY for me. Tri-Droid Fighter: I still dont understand the hate everyone seems to have for it. To me it seems like a major improvement over the last one and looks like a very interesting build with a good combination of techinques. The minifigs are somehow a let down but we still dont know what is inside the greenish pod so we can only hope for a re-designed Buzz Droid . TIE Defender: A piece of beauty !!!!! The TLC really nail the design of the pod which was the part I most feared they would ruin but it seems like they hit the target with this one. The build looks interesting too. I can see a Stormtrooper from the pic but the indentity of the other "pilot" is questionable in my opinion. It seems to me like it wears a motorcyclist helmet in pure black and also at the top of the box you see what seems to be a greenish minifig whose place is maybe that one of the black "pilot" and this will confirm the theory of the black siloutthes that Baby mentioned before the pics where out. Hoth Rebel Battlepack: Masterful!!! The vehicle seems complex contrary to the classic bunch of pieces the TLC gave us every year. The Hoth Rebel Soldiers are really welcome and that Rebel Pilot is a really good turn for variety. Snowtrooper Battlepack: An AT-AT Driver !!!!! The speeder looks good and is great that the TLC include some scenary too . They finally give us a Imperial Officer in a small set and some Snowtroopers are always welcome. Overall seems like a GREAT start this time !!!!

Thanks for the great review Jammiedodger714 . I really don´t like this promo at all. It looks a bit too small for my taste and also somehow lacks of details compared to the Speeder Bike or the STAP . I will still get it if I can just because it is another part of my collection .
-
I voted for the 10195 Republic Dropship and AT-OT . I had been waiting for a Battle of Endor set for a LONG. time but when I saw in person the 10195 I was totally impressed. Really, it is a set that we can consider PURE fan service from the TLC . The minifigs are sure a lets down but the two vehicles are BEATIFUL especially the dropship in that dark blue color . The Battle of Endor comes in a REALLY close second thought.

Thanks for the great review ADHO15 . Wow... this looks actually A LOT better than I thought from the pics of cache . In those pics the speeder looked way to fat at the sides but in your review it looks incredibly good . It is a shame I don´t live in the UK, I want this promo sets ><!!!!!!!!
