  1. I liked following 112. It was a refreshing back-to-basics kind of quest with no twists or turns. Not to say that those aren't welcome from time to time but it's also nice to have a quick and straightforward quest. My only gripe is that the enemies were too easy, and the system often worked against them rather than for them. Out of range? Whelp, that's one useless enemy. IMO you should've had more ranged units or ways to get around the limitation that you put in the quest, or just not had it at all. Also remember when you're dealing with four of the most powerful heroes on your quest. Three buffed up, low-health enemies as a boss fight aren't going to stop those guys, unfortunately. I'm not very creative when it comes to designing battles, but I would suggest more passive and support abilities spread among a larger number of enemies, not just a few powerful ones. One other thing I wanted to add is that the names for Brickdoctor loot are the best! The descriptions are cool as well. I've though about renaming the Sword of Ancestral Hatred, but there's just no way I could top it (also cool to see it's cousin, the Sword of Ancestral Benevolence, on this quest). The descriptions for unique loot are also neat!
  2. You would have a chance to assassinate all three. The Banana Bladerang works the same way because it hits all enemies.
  3. I have plans for my four shards. It was't easy getting all of them together, although they have been laying around in my inventory for a while... I'm just debating which weapon (or shield) to use them on, as well as the Crimson Venom.
  4. "Yes, heh, I would like to see him appraise these fists!" Hybros attacks Small Golem B from the front row, imbuing his attack with a shroud of darkness. If he falls below 46 health before his next attack he heals himself in the back row, otherwise repeats. "This would not be the first time that I have rescued a village from faceless enemies or the villagers' counterparts..."
  5. "Right." Hybros concentrated and focused his energy into his fist. An amber glow emanated from it, and the power of earth became imbued with his strike straight to the center of the door.
  6. The amount of talent in here just blows me away. I really ought to swing in this forum more often - although I stop in occasionally to see all of the incredible MOCs. Well done to everyone participating in this. And very nice minifigures, Ecclesiastes! I liked reading the lore. Good luck to everyone in the contest.
  7. Hybros tenses in surprise, and expends 1 ether to grow the grass around the back where the figure ran off to and twist it around his leg to trip him.
  8. Cannoneer all the way! I've been wanting to see that class in action (with a PC) for some time now. And once Karie goes Minstrel, we can say that all of the original 7 Expert Classes have been attained by PCs. You should've killed XX for that handcannon... Maybe Math would let you borrow one from his arsenal, although one at the Marketplace is only 50 gold. And yes, I too am going to give you, Zepher, a hard time about Donnie Darko. Seriously, it's essential. Not to hype it up too much but it's also one of my favorites. Also it's on Netflix so there's no excuse.
  9. Hybros pocketed the gold and followed the party across the street. "Any clues?" He looked at the general store. "Always safer to go around back than walk into a potential trap," he shrugged, following the grass path.
  10. "Hm. No one home." Hybros lowers himself to one knee to inspect the dust pile.
  11. So in other words, followed by . Seriously though, I am glad we're reaching the end of 102, (mostly) not because of how long it's been, but because we get to see the full consequences of the heroes' choices. I'll have more t say when it's over, but suffice to say these are "Nerwen moments" that you hope for when something big happens on a quest with her. So what did keep him alive? He was KO'd at the end of the battle, right?
  12. Hybros twiddled his thumbs. Both of his male companions had a blank expression on their faces. OOC: Hello? Anyone there? It would be nice if swils and Doc had some input, even if just to fill the interim while we wait to keep moving along with this quest.
  13. Doesn't Olimar also take extra space with the Pikmin as well, though? I feel like the extra Ice Climber wouldn't be a big a deal, but I don't really know for sure. I got the chance to play Smash for 3DS recently. I didn't get to explore the game at depth, such as with the Smash Run or the customizable movesets, but I played a few one-on-ones. The mechanics seem good; the play is a little faster and noticeably smoother than in Brawl. Rolling is especially fluid, which I really like. The translation to handheld felt better than I expected, too. I really don't like the way that knockouts work in this version. From my experience, it seems that besides a fall the only way that you can kill someone is with a smash (down, up, side A) attack. Throws are noticeably nerfed in this game, and recovery is easier than ever. And once you are hit with a smash attack with a certain amount of damage and those red vine-like animations appear on the screen, there's no chance to come back. It really takes a lot out of the unpredictability. I'm also lost on why they put clones back in the game. Lucina, Dark Pit and Dr. Mario are pretty much carbon copies of Marth, Pit and Mario respectively (as opposed to semi-clones like Fox/Falco or Mario/Luigi). Why put these characters in before Ice Climbers, Wolf or Lucas?
  14. Agreed! The party dynamics in 102 are some of the best we've ever seen, IMO. I also really like the trio in 116. The three no-nonsense men have a really good synergy so far, and WBD's NPCs add to that a lot. I'm really liking Hoke more and more lately.
  15. "Or perhaps someone much older." Hybros gave half of a grin back. "Heh, it was not so bad. We have no more idea what we are looking for here than we did then."
  16. "Hm... well then, should we go to the Town Hall?"
  17. "Hm... a village with no villagers... eheh. This would not be the first time..." Hybros kicked some dirt around and looked at the town. "We should check inside one of the buildings, yes? Starting with that tower..."
  18. Hybros looked over Docken's arm at the map. "It seems to me the path is clear. Though why we needed that girl when we have this map is unknown to me..." He held up a damaged tonic bottle. Luckily, the contents were still safe inside. "It also appears that perhaps we are dealing with folk trained in the magic arts. Why else would they want these tonics? Or perhaps the competitors that Ashley spoke of. Alchemists have a use for these substances, yes?" "Ehehm, well, should we keep moving? I see no other option at this point, eheh..."
  19. Hybros tries to pull the SOAH from the tree and return it to its sheath. He looks to the half-giant. He had hardly said a word so far, but like another hero in the Hall, this one also had a dragon accompanying him. It was bigger than a hatchling. Hybros watched it soar into the air with apprehension. "Ehehm... perhaps you could ask that dragon if he saw who the culprits were..." Hybros also checks his belongings.
  20. "Hm. Obviously we did not have what they were looking for. And the girl... perhaps she did. I am beginning to think with all of this secrecy, the town of Towr has something valuable that they are hiding." Hybros handed his allies' things back to them. Noting the trap set with Ellaria's crossbow, he dug through his mess of a pack to procure a magnifying glass, and used it to inspect the sword beneath the tree.
  21. "Ow..." Hybros rubbed his head, and his thighs. The former hurt from the unknown assailants in the night, and the latter from the previous day's ride. It wasn't often that he rode, and even the gentler trot of the pony he mounted (because of his short stature) had left its mark. The night was a blur. Groggily, he looked around. "Well this was... unexpected. Eheh... I can not believe we were not prepared... who had first watch? Ehem, anyways..." He looked to the severed hand. Ellaria still had both of hers, so that could only mean that it belonged to their guide. Hybros wondered if she could have even felt the pain with the medicine she had been given. He began rifling through the various packs strewn across the ground. Maybe the culprits dropped some valuables in their hurry...
  22. Hybros turned to the party, adding in a hushed tone, "I do think it is strange that this girl will not speak to us. I am not sure if I can trust her to lead the way. I agree Ellaria, that you should keep a close eye on her." He rose his voice to address Ashley. "Should there not be some kind of map to this town?"
  23. Hybros nodded again. The alchemists seemed like a furtive group - he wished Guts was around to offer his expertise with the organization. "There is one more thing... this girl, Persephone... she is a member of the Guild? What is your relation to her?" He pulled a Mead from his pack and drank it, signaling that he was ready as soon as his question was answered. OOC: It's probably too late but swils, if you were planning on going to the Marketplace might as well grab some Phoenix Essences and Potions. And as long as Docken isn't using his Iris Shield, might as well let Thormy use it, right? Also, Hybros should have the Metal Claw equipped (not sure where it went).
  24. Hybros nodded. "Hm, I see. And the importance of this town to the Guild of Invision... I assume it is a significant supplier? Do you have any contacts in this town?" He turned to Persehpone. "Do you have anything to add?" He looked at the sobbing girl without much empathy, as was characteristic of the imp.
