The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons. It was actually pretty good, and not what I expected it to be. It was rather sad, especially at the end when he has . It was pretty long, though, about three hours (and it was based off of a short story!).

Happy Birthday, WhiteFang! Have a great one, and get lots of Lego sets for you to review.

Very interesting topic, ricecracker, this is a great way to get to know members better (epecially the older ones). Anyways, here's me, a little over a year ago. Ah, those were the days... I was such a noob. I actually started a topic for my first post, asking about my JSF w/ Hyperdrive Booster Ring set coming with extra parts (you can see the topic here). Hinckley's response still gives me a laugh when I look back on it. Oh, and I've never officially introduced myself on these boards. Should I, before it's too late?

How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?
JimBee replied to kill will's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Yes, the Ryloth episodes are a trilogy. You can see the preview for the whole thing here. Also by clicking that, you will notice that you can watch all of the episodes online. Just click the blue arrows on the video menu under the "Clone Wars" tab. I don't know why any of you could only see two of the latest full episodes... -
I voted yes, since it would be nice to have that, but if you looked over the poll questions again, wouldn't you remember what you would have voted for?

"What is he saying?" asked Jim. "He wants to get reinforcements" replied Oky Wan. "What for?" "That." said Anakin, pointing to the sky through the cockpit window. He was pointing at a massive space battle occurring just above the atmosphere, and it didn't look good for the Republic. About a half dozen CIS cruisers surrounded the two remaining Republic Destroyers. The small cruiser that Butcher, Kenobi, and Skywalker were in flew into space, right in the middle of the battle. "Master, come in" said Anakin through the comm link. "What is it?" the Jedi master answered. Oky Wan shifted uncomfortably. "Luun is dead, and Dooku got away. But I have two Republic agents with me, and their team wants to get reinforcements". "No. No, we can't afford to lose more soldiers, we have to pull out of this one" said Obi Wan from one of the Venators. "Yes, master", said Anakin, turning the comm link off and turning around to speak with Jim and Oky Wan "Tell your team to pull out". "Alright", said Oky Wan. As he delivered the message, Anakin asked, "So, what was Dooku doing here, anyway?" Butcher smiled. "I was hoping you'd ask that" he said. "He was looking for this". Jim pulled out the mysterious artifact from his belt. Anakin's eyes widened. "That's a Sith holocron! We have to get that to the Jedi temple on Coruscant, where it will be safe. No doubt that the Seperatists will be on our tail as soon as they gather reinforcements". "Alright", said Jim. The two Venators, The Fortitude, and the small ship retreated from the CIS cruisers, and prepared for hyperspace. Within seconds, the four ships disappeared with a flash. On board a CIS cruiser, Dooku stepped into the control room. "What's the situation?" he asked. A droid commander answered, "Sir, the remaining forces got away" in a squeaky, mechanical voice. "Hmm..." the Count said to himself. "Not to worry, I know exactly where they're going". Somewhere in space... The four ships ended their jump through hyperspace. They had landed somewhere near the center of the galaxy, a few parsecs away from Coruscant. Dannik peered out of a window in The Fortitude. Alongside two Venators, he saw his ship being flown by Anakin Skywalker.

Oh, geez, I didn't realize/ remember that you had already created a Ren Luun... I can change my post. EDIT: I'll end chapter 1 tomorrow, so if anyone has anything else to add, please do so now.

"The Republic has meddled in our affairs for too long." said Dooku "Now you will have to pay the price." Butcher ignited his lightsaber, and Oky Wan pulled out his blaster. "You cannot possibly believe that you can win" taunted the Count. "I am an all-powerful Sith lord, while you... are just a few Republic agents." "Maybe we can't beat you..." said Jim. "But he can!" Ren Luun jumped from behind an expensive-looking machine in the wide hallway, lightsaber ignited. He slashed at Dooku while in the air, but the Count swiftly moved to the side. The duel began. Butcher and Luun attacked together, slashing high and low, left and right, but Dooku blocked every one. Meanwhile, Oky Wan was trying shoot Dooku, but Jim and Luun were in the way. Dooku eventually forced pushed Jim and Oky Wan across the hall, and the duel was between Luun and Dooku. The duel's pace got faster and faster, until it became a blur or green and red. Luun took a lunge at Dooku, but the Sith jumped over Luun, and cut him in the back, not all the way through. The Jedi was undoubtedly dead. Dooku stepped over to Jim and Oky Wan, and prepared for the finishing blow. Just then, Anakin Skywalker came charging in the hallway door, lightsaber ignited. "Not this time, Dooku!" he called out. "Ah, what a surprise, Skywalker." the Count said calmly. "But you've made a mistake by coming here. It was all for nothing, since you'll all be dead in a few moments." With that, he turned tail and ran towards the hallway's opposite doorway, using the force to bring rocks from the ceiling to block it. Oky Wan quickly got up and shot at the Count, but it was too late. Skywalker checked Luun's vitals, and let out a sad sigh. He turned, and said "We have to get out of here. Dooku is probably planning on blowing everything up, to hide the evidence". Jim quickly got up. "Do you have a ship?" he asked. "No, but we could check the landing bay, I know where it is. A clone battalion is holding off the droid forces as we speak". "Alright, lead the way" said Oky Wan. They got to the hangar bay without incident, but there were no ships to be found. Skywalker cursed. "Transport or no transport, we have to get out of here, as soon as possible." he said. The three ran towards the opening of the bay, and jumped. The fall was about 20 feet, but fortunately some low-lying bushes softened their fall. They somersaulted down a small hill, and sprinted as fast as they could towards the forest. They got past the first trees just in time, and quickly ducked behind a few boulders. They heard the first of the explosions, and turned around to see them. The giant balls of flame were tremendous, and chunks of scrap metal were hurled everywhere. Once the metal rain had lessened, the group headed north, deeper into the forest. After a while, they came to a small ship in a clearing, without any droid encounters on the way. The ship looked large enough to hold all three of them, so Anakin open the door with the force, and they climbed in. With Skywalker at the controls, they headed towards the sky, and, they hoped, towards The Fortitude.

But then, there's not much room to begin with. I'm thinking a modified ISD would look much better. At least it's unique, and I have to admit that the gun turret looks neat (and the fact that it can change sides so easily is a plus too). I agree. TLG has been generous in giving us eight figures, but the DS had 21, and all of those figs can be found in other sets. A new, exclusive figure would be nice (Ki-Adi Mundi and Bly ) If it's such a big deal, an MTT can help. I think the droid:clone ratio is pretty even. I don't think the Snail Tank is small to begin with. Perhaps one or more parts of the tank seem out of proportion to some people, making the set look small. The same case would go to the Hailfire Tank (from 2008), with it's small wheels. Other than that, the sets are actually to scale with other sets (not counting the huge ones that had to be scaled down, like the ISD).

Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
JimBee replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ack! Please get a bigger house. Neat, I really like those shelving units. I got lucky and found it in a Grievous Starfighter. Cool, I like what you did with the hooks there. Now I really want that DGS. And I'm digging the Matrix Reloaded poster, Taco Man. -
How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?
JimBee replied to kill will's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I saw "The Hidden Enemy", and it was definitely one of the better episodes. The "mystery traitor" was revealed pretty quickly, so there wasn't much suspense (I suppose that's the result of a <30 minute show). The Cody-Rex action was good, too. However, the Obi-Assaj bickering is getting annoying. I wonder when Grievous will make another appearance? I also saw the "Ryloth Trilogy" trailer, and I'm glad to finally see some Mace Windu action in the show. -
Thanks for the pictures, but this honestly doesn't look all that spectacular. Sure the figures are great, and the green A-Wing is a nice touch, but there's not much else to it. At least the OT fans are happy, though. And did you say one of the winners?! Meaning that the Palply's Arrest set still has a chance?! That would be one huge ship... Thanks very much. The Pirate Tank looks... pretty good, and this is a nice, cheap way for getting Obi-Wan. I can't say much else, but the price is a little much. The Falcon is pretty much what I expected, but I can't help but to notice that it's so small. It would make a nice addition to my collection (granted that I don't have any other version), I suppose. I agree. Wow. What an amazing set, TLG has truly given the fans exactly what they've wanted. The stickers are great, and the back of the box shows an alternate decal very similar to Rayman's stickers: http://www.flickr.com/photos/-chuckc-/3285418527/ Looks like Darth Legolas was right- this was the newer version. I can't say that I like it much; it's very small. Ah, well, that's more money towards the LAAT/c and AT-OT. I'm going to have nightmares... I think the gun is just the regular old blaster rifle. This looks great. Very small and swooshabe. That's the first question I was going to ask when I saw the pictures. Great going, TLG. There isn't much of a difference here to me. We all have a truckload of R2's, another (slightly different) one isn't a big deal, but it's nice to see more and more prints and molds. Excellent. I've always found that jetpack attractive, and now we have it separate from the Boba/ Jango helmet. I can see some paint jobs on these in the future. I'd better stop this crazy hobby and get a car. And I have to say that I like Mon Mothma's new hairstyle; when did she go emo? EDIT: After seeing those videos on Flickr, I am speechless towards the amount of playability of these sets. The A-Wing spinning and the the doors of the Sep. Shuttle, for example, move so smoothly. This is a whole new era for Star Wars sets.

A few hours later, Butcher awoke in his cell. He couldn't remember much after he was given the serum, but he did remember segments of a strange dream. He disregarded the dream for a few moments to think about the current situation. He and everyone with him at the time of the attack were in cells of a Separatist base. Droids and CIS generals would have just killed them on the spot, so someone more devious had to be behind their capture. Count Dooku came instantly to mind. If they were'nt all dead, Dooku must want answers. In fact, he did remember the Sith lord in his dream. He was saying something about joining the CIS and their cause... Jim waved the thought away. Why would he ever join those evil Separatists? He was with the Republic. Still, the dream kept tugging on his thoughts in the back of his mind. Butcher examined the room outside of his cell. Everything seemed blue through the shield, but he could make out pillars in a round room. Their were floodlights all around, and a single, decorative chair on one end of the circular room. To Butcher's right, there were more cells. They were in an arena. It all makes sense, he thought. Dooku wants us to fight each other until only one or two of us are left. Then, when everything is hopeless, he would force the survivors to talk. Of course he must know that reinforcements were coming, which will be the droids job. Now all there was left to do was wait...

That's what I was forgetting. I'll add it ASAP. And thanks to Oky Wan and everyone else who helped explain the story. Everything makes perfect sense now. I'm glad that we got away from the bad start.
-
I'm utterly confused as to what is going on in the story right now. Could someone please explain who's with who? And what each of us are supposed to be doing?
-
Hm? You mean this one?: It's there.

I might go as a visitor, since I only live about an hour away. Is there a specific date decided yet? Thanks, that was reassuring.

I have to agree... then again, it is up to all of the players to decide how the story goes. I also did some indexing of the current MOCs of the story thread. I also will index Oky Wan's two scenes. Anything else that I missed? EDIT: I couldn't get some of the URLs for some of the pictures. They are: Jifel's first pictures (of the swamp hideout) Oky Wan's second MOC of his finale Oky Wan's deleted scene Whenever I tried to copy/paste these picture onto paint, an error message pops up and says "could not find clipboard data". I'll try to find a way around this, but do you two (Jifel and Oky Wan) have any ideas to why this is happening, and how to fix it? Thanks ahead of time.

Well, I don't know where the joke is from, so you might not be impressed, but I am. Great use of parts, especially with the bananas and the Imperial Guard headpiece. I also noticed that you've found a way to use that egg technique. Your animal MOCs are becoming something of a treat to the eyes.

This is actually a plus for me, since there will be a lot more interior room without it. In the ISD, the escape pod and the docking bay took up over half the ship. But maybe some turrets will take the pod's place...

Here's my entry: Rocky Rococo's pizza. -
Hello everyone. Recently, I was going through my Flickr photos and came across my pre-made entry for the Snow Box Derby in December, if I had made it to being a RA teacher in time. It turns out that I hadn't, but it's no big deal. Being a teacher was pushing the staff-and-fellow-only rule, anyways. So, without further ado, here it is: It is intended to be a Star Wars- based sled, since that is my favorite theme, as well as my sig-fig's theme. I had some dark tan pieces laying around, so I figured that I could use them to match my sig-fig's color scheme. The black is supposed to represent a feeling of stealth, and the trans-blue to add some color. I personally think that it came out fine. This is a view of what you wouldn't have seen in the race. The back is my favorite part. The cheese slopes gave an aerodynamic trait to it. Also note that the sled is heavily armed. An extra boost is always helpful... Originally, I was going to include my Ki-Adi Mundi figure as the gunner, but I couldn't find a tan 1x1x2 cylinder. Thanks for looking, and feedback is always appreciated.

Happy Birthday, guys! Have a great one! This is for you, Oky Wan:

Ah, one of my first my first Lego sets. It's great to see the set again, I remember building it like it was yesterday... Anyways, thanks for reviewing this. Looking back, this set is nowhere near as impressive as it was to me 10 years ago (then again, I haven't seen any of the pieces since). I'll rate this an average set, since it doesn't have much to it. The moisture evaporator is just a little add-on, but those brown and grey vent pieces must be valuable. The figures are great though, and they could have probably went for a good price before 2007. Once again, thank for the review. It is really great to see old sets like this after a long time.
